Chapter 6: Wyatt
"I'm sorry that it happened. I'll always be here for you if you need anything, okay? I won't tell anyone about what happened since you obviously don't want to tell anyone. It will all be okay, I promise." Jade gave him a genuine smile before nodding slowly.
Well, that's one thing off her chest.

It's now Monday morning. Sunday was just a lazy day for everyone, they basically just stayed at Jade's house and watched movies together. Now, she's walking from the school parking lot to the school. The weather was chilly, not as warm as it usually was so she was wearing her leather jacket over a plain black t-shirt with regular blue jeans on.
As Jade walked on the sidewalk, a certain group caught her eye. They were in a large circle, all of them wearing preppy clothes, they were laughing at something as they looked down on the ground. Her curiosity got the best of her, so she started towards them. Taking long strides as she walked.
Jade finally reached the group of people, instantly she recognized one of the male's standing in the group. Ethan Grey, one of the popular kids in the school, he was more of a nerd than a jock but he was built like a jock. He played sports but his academics were more important to him. He's what everyone calls the, "Golden Boy," because he's like every teenage boy in the cliché romantic movies. He has baby blue eyes, dirty blonde hair and that player boy attitude.
Once Jade reached the circle, she immediately pushed two of the guys blocking me, out of the way. In the corner of her eye she could see both of them glaring at her, that's okay. Jade gasped at the sight in front of her.
There was a smaller teenager laying on the ground, bruises evident on his skin. His mouth had blood oozing out of it along with his nose. Jade walked closer to him and knelt down. Easily getting a closer look at the boy, the bruises were black, blue and had small spots of green. The blood that was oozing from his mouth, pooled on the ground, becoming drier by the second. Jade gently placed her index finger and middle finger onto his neck, checking for a hint of life. "Jade, leave the boy alone, he's fine." Ethan's voice made Jade snap her head up and glare at him. Without a word, she continued checking on the boy. His pulse was there but it wasn't strong, he was obviously knocked out since he didn't move when she touched him.
"Jade, I said to leave him alone!" Ethan yelled but this time, Jade stood up and straightened her posture.
"Did you do this? Did you hurt this poor boy? What did he do to you to deserve this?" Jade's voice started getting louder by the second causing a group of people to come and watch. Ethan smirked, "Maybe I did. What are you going to do about it?" He asked. She sighed and started to walk towards him.
"Ethan, Ethan, Ethan. You should know better to not mess around with someone who could easily hurt you." Ethan laughed, loudly causing everyone else to laugh. "Try me, sweetie." He challenged. Jade sighed, then took a step back, towards the boy on the ground. She smiled at Ethan, tauntingly before kneeling beside the boy again. Ethan just laughed, quite loudly too. "Too scared to fight me, sweetie?" He asked, she slowly shook her head, standing up and charging at Ethan. Before he could respond to her actions, she grabbed the collar of his Polo t-shirt and rammed him into the nearby tree.
It went dead quiet, everyone was watching them as she held Ethan against the tree. "Now listen here, you little shit. I don't know who you think you are by beating up this poor kid but you better listen to me when I say this. Don't you ever, ever touch this boy again or else I swear to God that I will beat the life out of you. Do I make myself clear?" Jade stated, venomously. He smirked and chuckled slightly.
"You can't stop me from doing anything, Jade." Jade instantly let go of his collar with her right hand and connected her fist with his jaw. His face flew to the side because of the force. He slowly turned his head towards her, the crimson colored blood was dripping out of his mouth. Jade let go of his collar and took a step back. "Stay the fuck away from me and him. I don't want you near him. Leave now!" She shouted at him. He nodded slowly, fear was almost oozing from his eyes as he scurried away.
Jade walked back over to the boy and knelt down. She slowly put her right arm underneath his legs and the other around his shoulders. She lifted him up slowly and carefully, trying not to hurt him. His body looked so fragile and broken as she held him but his face looked peaceful and absent of stress. His face also looked familiar, like she knew him from somewhere. Jade kept walking towards the nurse's office but she couldn't stop looking at the boy's face every now and then, he looked so familiar, like she knew him but haven't actually met him.
He looked familiar, yes but she couldn't help but notice how similar they looked. He had black hair that almost exactly matched hers. Their faces were both defined, his jawline was sharp and his cheekbones were high.
Jade finally reached the nurse's office and opened the door slowly. She peeked inside to see that only the nurse was in there, she sighed in relief knowing that the boy would be the nurse's number one priority now.
The nurse was a short woman and a slightly older one. She is probably one of the best staff members in the school because she's so kind and funny. She has frizzy brown hair and brown eyes. Her eyes are warm and comforting just like her personality.
Jade coughed lightly as she set the boy on the white bed in the middle of the room. Jade hates hospitals and anything near them so she felt uneasy and very uncomfortable standing in that room. The nurse gave her a confused look, "Jade, what a surprise. I didn't think you had a heart to bring in a patient." Jade rolled her eyes and scoffed. "Wow, I didn't know you paid that much attention to me, Barbara." Jade shot back at her. Barbara laughed slightly before going back to being serious. "So do you know who he is or what happened?" She asked, concern laced her voice.
"Well, I was walking into school and I saw a group of preppy kids in a circle laughing at something on the ground. My curiosity got the best of me and I went to go see what they were laughing at. Ethan Grey beat the kid up and well I ended up punching him and carrying this boy here." Jade summarized what happened as Barbara listened carefully. She smiled at Jade before turning her attention to the boy. She looked him over, checking his blood pressure, pulse, his cuts and bruises, and finally who he actually was. She checked the school's website for a picture of the boy and after ten minutes of searching, she finally found who he was.
"Wyatt Burman." Barbara stated loud enough for Jade to hear. Jade smiled as she sat down in the chair near the door. It was almost the end of third period now but Jade wanted to wait here till Wyatt woke up.
A few minutes later, Jade heard groaning coming from the bed. She instantly jumped out of her chair and almost ran over to him. Barbara was soon by her side. "Wyatt, can you hear me?" Barbara asked, quietly. It took a few moments until Wyatt finally answered, "Please! Don't hurt me! I swear I'll do anything! Just leave me alone!" Wyatt screamed in terror. Jade looked over at Barbara who was almost as shocked as she was. Barbara gave her a 'I don't know what to do, you try something' look. Jade sighed quietly as she knelt down to be eye level with Wyatt.
"Wyatt, listen to me. We aren't going to hurt you, okay? Look, we are here to help you." Jade whispered quietly, trying to keep him calm. He looked over at her, his baby blue eyes piercing into her green ones.
"Okay." He whispered. He looked like a small child even though he was a sophomore. Jade smiled at him and he returned it. Barbara excused herself to go get more excuse slips, leaving Wyatt and her alone.
"You look familiar. Do I know you?" He asked, quietly. Jade laughed lightly. "I was going to ask you the same thing. I don't know you though." He laughed at her answer as Barbara walked back in.
"Okay I'm going to ask you a few questions to make sure you don't have any memory problems, okay?" Barbara asked kindly. Wyatt nodded and waited for Barbara to continue.
"Full name?" She asked.
"Wyatt Burman." He responded quickly.
"Parents names?" Barbara asked. Wyatt stayed quiet for a few minutes causing Barbara and Jade to look at him.
"Jamie Burman and Isaac Fey." Jade gasped louder than she meant to causing Barbara to look at her with a sad look and Wyatt to look at her with a questioning look.
Jade's mouth stayed open for a while until she finally closed it and cleared her throat.
"Wyatt have you ever seen your dad?" Jade asked calmly. He shook his head slowly. "Why didn't you?" She asked barely above a whisper.
"He ran away from my mom after getting her pregnant on accident, apparently he was cheating and when I went to go see him for the first time, the butler at the door of his mansion said he died in a tragic accident."
Jade's mouth flew open once again. She looked back and forth from Wyatt and Barbara. Finally, she stopped on Wyatt.
"Your father was cheating on my mother. Our father was a cheater and we are related... Wyatt I'm your sister."
