Chapter 4: Saturday

"Can I sleep in here with you? Ally and Zack are quite loud." She laughed then nodded her head since he could see her. He shut off the flashlight then climbed into bed with her. It was awkward at first but Jade and Easton were too tired to care. Soon after both of them fell back to sleep.

~~~
Jade woke to her head pounding. Too. Much. Alcohol. She groaned as she is slowly tried to sit up. The room started to spin wildly, Jade quickly shut her eyes to try and ease the pain. "Damn hangovers." She muttered to herself as she finally looked around the room. Jade looked down at her bed to see Easton laying in her bed. At first she was shocked but then she remember the part of the night where Easton came in her room. She laughed quietly, trying not to wake him up.
Her head was still pounding as she rolled out of bed. She had to use the wall to reach the bathroom that was attached to her room. Once she reached it, she quickly threw open the cabinet and grabbed the container of Ibuprofen. Jade took out two and popped them into her mouth. She then slowly walked over to her dresser and grabbed clothes for today, then she set the bottle of Ibuprofen on the table next to Easton.
There was a nauseous feeling in her stomach once she reached the bathroom. She leaned over the sink and stared at the mirror for a minute. Her black hair was tangled and looked like a bird's nest, there were dark bags under her eyes, and her makeup was slightly smeared. She looked like a zombie who was trying to look good for a date night.
Jade slowly turned back around and faced the glass door that led to the shower. She slipped out of her clothing from the night before and stepped into the tiled shower. She then turned on the water and let the cool liquid run down her body.  She leaned her head against the wall and let the water prick her back, making faint lines of water drops cascading down her back.
About ten minutes later, she stepped out of the shower and dried herself off. It felt like she washed off everything that happened at the party last night. Her mind always kept going back to the fight with Jinx. Why would she show up at her house? Especially when there were other people around. Jade shook the thoughts from her head as she got dressed.
Jade put on a simple white tank top with dark grey skinny jeans. She quickly blow dried her hair and fixed the small curls with the flat iron. Once she thought her hair was okay, she grabbed her makeup from the cabinet under the sink. She decided to not overdo it, so she put on light blush, eyeliner, and foundation. Next, Jade quickly brushed her teeth and gurgled mouthwash. As she finished, she walked out of the room. Her head wasn't pounding anymore, thankfully.
Easton woke up to the sound of the water running in the bathroom attached to the room he was in. What the hell, why am I in a different room than last night? Easton asked himself as he slowly sat up, his head pounding with every move. He groaned in pain as he looked around the room, his eyes landed on the bottle of Ibuprofen on the table next to him. He quickly grabbed the bottle, opened it, and tossed two in his mouth then he washed them down with the glass of water next to him. After he finally got out of bed, he slowly made his way towards the door and down the stairs, after stumbling a few times.
Jade stepped out of the bathroom and looked towards her bed to see if Easton was awake but the bed was empty. She shrugged then walked over to the table near the bed. She noticed that the cap of the bottle of Ibuprofen was off, the bottle was moved and the glass of water near the bottle was empty. At least he took some Ibuprofen, Jade thought as she walked out of the room. She dragged herself down the stairs to see Steven sitting on the couch.
"Is breakfast done?" Jade asked, just above a whisper. Steven turned around and looked at her, he smirked. "I wouldn't know, Ma'am. I would go ask the person in the kitchen." Jade gave him a confused look before walking through the house and into the kitchen. She smiled when she realized who was cooking.
Easton was stirring what looked like hash browns on the stove. There was another frying pan on another burner which spiked Jade's curiosity. She slowly made her way towards him, not making any noise. Once she reached him, she looked over his shoulder to see pancakes being made. Jade smiled then wrapped my arms around his waist. He immediately went tense but soon relaxed when he turned around to face her.
Easton smiled at Jade before turning back around to tend the food. "How was your morning?" He asked, his voice was husky and deep, signaling his obvious tiredness. Jade chuckled, quietly. "Oh you know, fantastic except for the usual pounding headache and nauseous feeling." He chuckled before she continued, "How was yours?" He went quiet for a minute before responding.
"Well it would've been better if I didn't wake up to an empty bed and a headache. Thanks for the Ibuprofen, by the way." She nodded then sat on one of the bar stools.
"Zack, Caden and Ally aren't awake yet?" Jade asked after a few minutes of comfortable silence. She heard a slight 'no' from Easton then it went back to being quiet.
Easton then set a huge plate full of pancakes in front of Jade "Are those pancakes I smell!" Ally screamed. Jade's eyes widened and she quickly grabbed three pancakes before Ally could take them. A few minutes later, Ally, Zack, and Caden came running down the stairs. Caden had a hand on his head while Zack and Ally were trying to hold themselves up. Jade laughed then threw a bottle of Ibuprofen at them. Zack grabbed it and popped two of them in his mouth and passed it on, the other two copied his movements.
Easton set plates down in front of the three who sat down and they quickly grabbed their pancakes. Easton grabbed some too and sat down. There was a comfortable silence that settled throughout the room. Jade looked around at all of her friends. Caden's hair was wrecked, it was sticking up everywhere while his glasses were slightly crooked from him leaning down and eating. Ally's hair looked like she just did it, it was straight and perfectly parted, her eyes on the other hand had dark bags under them. Zack's hair was slightly tangled but his eyes looked fine, his chin on the other hand had syrup running down it, which caused Jade to chuckle. Easton's hair looked like it was wind blown until he ran a hand through it, but his eyes were fine.
An idea popped into Jade's head as she was about to take another bite of her pancake. "We should go to the beach!" Jade yelled, forgetting about her friend's aching heads. Everyone turned their head towards her, they had confused look on their faces until they realized what she said, then they all smiled. "Yeah!" They all said in unison. Jade smirked then ran upstairs and changed into a bathing suit. When she came back down, Caden, Ally and Zack were gone but Easton was still here.
Jade smiled before walking into her parent's old bedroom. She took a deep breath as the memories started to flood her mind.
*Flashback*
Jade ran into her parent's bedroom. Their bed was huge compared to Jade's since she was so small. The bed was lifted higher because of the posts that laid underneath of it. It was early in the morning and the light was peaking through the closed shades. Jade's five year old self couldn't wait to go to the park today. Her dad promised he would take her. Jade used all of the power in her tiny legs to jump onto her parent's bed. Once she was successful, she stood up then tackled her dad.
Her mom groaned slightly before pulling the covers up more to cover her face. Her mom's hair was spread behind her as she moved onto her side. Jade giggled at the sight at her mom before turning back to her dad.
"Ugh Jade. It's too early for this." Her dad's hoarse voice echoed in the room. "Daddy you promised you would take me to the park! Come on let's go!" Her dad groaned before rolling over and getting out of bed.
*Flashback End*
Jade smiled at the thought of her parents. She didn't realize that she was crying until she felt a tear fall on her hand. Jade quickly wiped away the tears and continued towards the dresser. She reached down into the bottom cabinet and pulled out a pair of swimming trunks. She sighed as she walked out and gently closed the door.
Once Jade reached the living room, she threw the shorts at Easton who easily caught them. He smiled at her and said a quick 'Thank You' before running into the bathroom. Jade sat on the couch and let the flashback continue.
*Flashback*
Jade and her dad arrived at the park. It wasn't busy like it usually was because of how early it was but she was glad that she could come. "Daddy, will you push me on the swings?" Jade asked as sweetly as she could. She even added a pout just to help. He smiled down at her, "Of course, sweetie." They then walked over to the swings and he picked her up and gently set her on one of them. He then walked behind her and started pushing Jade.
"Higher Daddy! I want to touch the sky!" Jade yelled as she was going down. "Okay, I just don't want you to get hurt." He said quietly as he pushed her higher. She smiled and started laughing as he continued to push her.
*Flashback End*
Jade smiled at the memory then she heard the sound of footsteps. She turned around to see Easton in the pair of blue swimming trunks. "You ready?" He asked. Jade smiled at him, kindly.
"Of course."
