ETTVB 19: When You Believe

His pointed fingers piercing through my neck sending millions of shreds of pain to my whole entity. He was lifting me by the neck and I could feel him crushing me. "ACK!!"

I close my eyes because of excrutiating pain.

God...

Why did it happen in the first place?

That's right...

My blood. Our blood. They're after the thirds-of-blood. They've always been after our pure blood link to the vampire creator.

If only I could meet her and ask her how to get rid of the enemy would be helpful but not in this kind of situation that I'm about to perish in the face of the earth.

I flip my eyes open despite the ominous feeling as an extremely bright light flash right through my sight.

Is this how dying feels like?

Am I going to nirvana or something already?

Ting!

What was that sound? It was a high pitch tone and there was no way it would come from the room since I am losing my consciousness.

Ting!

There it go again... The tone was familiar.. It's definitely coming from a piano... Goodness! I'm dying already and I still have the nerve to think about instruments! Argh! Don't lose it Fhae! You need to get off the monster!

"Remain calm my child." My inner thoughts were castigated as someone subverted into my head.

I looked back and I was in a very beautiful music hall with red and black checkered tile flooring. There were black curtains covering any sight from the outside world but  candles were lit up attached to the wall. A grand piano was at the middle of the room and someone sits by the piano stool. I look at my arms and I was wearing a purple night gown and there was no sign of anyone nor anything strangling me. What just happened and who called me?

"Who are you?" My voice echoed.

There was no reply but I am sure she pressed a low key of C in the piano. I slowly took my steps to see her since the piano was hiding her face.

And I am seriously thankful to follow my instincts because I knew my guts were telling me that she's not an enemy.

Her appearance and ambience says it all. She was wearing a white gown ornamented with pearls and diamonds and had a gold belt shaping her slim waistline. She had a gold necklace and only one ear had a big earing of the moon.  Her skin was pale with her cheeks blushing and her lips were light pink. Her eyes were of the color of the dark red moon.

My jaw almost dropped figuring out who it was sitting in front of me.

"Selene... Lady of the Moon..." I whispered.

She gave me a warm smile.

"Hello child."

"My... My... My lady..." I bowed.

"Raise your head child. There is no need for such formalities." I did as I was told. "It is nice to meet the present kin. I am aware that someone is trying to forcefullyawaken your blood."

"Yes. A ghoul who manipulated my memories did it."

"He really played our lives didn't he?" She sighed. "I'm sorry... It's my fault that you have to suffer."

I knew my brows met with the curiousity building up. What did she mean by that?

"The man you called father... The man who killed a number of our family members... Lord Goldsmith... Whose real name is Sansone is my..." She shook her head. "He was my ex-lover and older brother." She answered emphasizing that it was in the past.

[A/n: This is not incest guys. I hope you remember that they're vampires and they choose to preserve their imortality and thick blood including their pureness as they possess greater powers usually unique ones.]

For a second my mind weny blank before it processed what she just said. My mouth opened and my eyes almost popping out with disbelief.

"WHAT?!"

"Did you know our names has their meanings?"

"Wait! I still haven't cope up with him being your brother and you're changing topics already?" I bursted but then slap my mouth after hearing myself shout at her. "I'm sorry my lady! I didn't mean to shout at you!" I repeated.

Lady Selene giggled then gave me that million-dollar smile. "There is nothing to fear child. You should know that I am only telling you what needs to be known." I look up and she didn't lose her endearing composure. "Our names bear the messages and what our life is prophecied on. Do you know what your name means Callidora?"  I shook my head. "Your name means gift of beauty. You're a treasure with endless worth. Your mother Adrasteia fulfilled the prophecy like how she was named bearing the meaning of inescapable. It is true that she did not escape the path her life had to take but it was for you and your family. She loves you more than you know."

"Wow... I never knew that... I only know that the first Lord Ambrogio do mean immortal."

"Yes child. That is correct. And everyone who followed my blood with the name Selene watches on the moon. We are dark, mysterious but still affectionate and easily broken. We hardly see the bright sun and when we do we grasp it with both our hands and feel the warmth that the sun gives off."

"M-moon..." That's why the lady of the house bears the name Selene. "Umm... But what does it have to do with Sansone?"

"He... He was suppose to save me from the darkness just like his name like the sun..." Her angelic face saddened. "He chose power over prosperity... It's still clear in my mind that he preferred to kill me than save our kind from the humans. Then I fell for Ambrogio. Sansone learned of this and he decided to kill me after I separated to him especially because Ambrogio wasn't a pureblood vampire that time. Sansone killed Ambrogio which devastated me so I rushed to the gods and they did wake him up turning him into a pureblood vampire and they punished Sansone after learning of his betrayal to the family and to me."

"If you don't mind me asking... Why did it have to turn out to multiple killings? If we was punished, why did he turn into a ghoul?!"

A tear fell from her cheeks. "It was all my fault... All of this is my fault..." 

"W-w-what are you saying my lady? I don't understand? You did the right thing asking the gods to punish him. So how come?"

"He was severely punished and I attained the peace I long desire but it was to be honest a short period because the next think I knew... I was dying because he bit me inflicting a big wound in my body and he was able to drink my blood." The hall suddenly grumbled making me hold on the piano. An earthquake? But I am definitely sure this is another dimension.

"What was that?" I asked her worriedly after the shock whihc lasted for seconds.

She stood up. "Listen child... I don't have much time to tell you everything... Some secrets of the past will remain blank for now but you will know them in the right time and I can only tell you that chosing the right vampire is the key to cleaning the soul of the enemy."

"I don't understand my lady..."

"Our blood is the source of all the mayhem and it is also the only key to fix everything in your world."

"How? And who should I give it?"

"You know the answer my child just like how unaware you are how you awoken my restless sould from the centuries of slumber." She walked towards me and gave me a hug... It was warm even though it was coming from a vampire. "This may be the first and last time we could meet but I will tell you one thing you want to hear most from the very start.."

Her lips went closer to my ear as she whisper the words I have been longing to hear. "You can do it... You're not alone. Follow your heart child because you are the last one capable of saving my brother. We are so proud of you."

A tear escaped my eye and she gave me a kiss on the forehead just like how I know my real mother would comfort and support me.

"Trust yourself alright? Believe in your own powers." I nodded wiping the tears that slid down my cheeks. She was right. It was what I have been lacking all these time...

"Now go and wake yourself up..."  She sat back to the piano stool breaking our eye contact.

"You know what to do next." She presses another piano key and the music hall went blurry yet again.

I can do this...

I know I can't kll him but I'll do the opposite...

I'll save my uncle...

I'll save my family...

I'll give him my blood.

I choke when I started feeling the pain on my neck again and my eyes twitched and openned widely as I felt a new form of strength inside my body. I squeeze his hands still on my neck and slowly I could see his devilish expression gone wilder makng him groan and throw me to the wall.

I spit out some blood due to the hard impact to the wall but I was still able to stand properly.

"You b*tch!" He shouted with his eyes glowing yellow. Very different from a vampire's velvet red one. I still cna't believe he is actually blood-related to me and he was a pureblood and the queen's ex-lover! But more importantly I can't believe I treated this ghoul family!

"I guess I am." I clasp both hands and there was a rush of blood throughout my body and my veins. I need  to wake up.

"You can't escape me girl!" HE shouted but my poise did not falter as I smelled my other brothers/fiancee appear behind me.

"Sorry we're late Fhae!" Kazuya says as he rushes towards Kazuto still down to the floor.

"It's alright Kazuya. Just tend Kazuto's wound. I'll handle everything from here." I released my hands and breathe deeply. I can do this,

"You alright Fhae?" I opened my eyes and my sight, in a flash, changed its level. Everything around me went clearer than ever and I could not help but believe the feeling of my blood mixing all together, at the exact same second.

"Fhae?" Kyouta calls out. I turned to him and I could see my reflection in his eyes.

My eyes turned into bright red and it sparkled brightly than I expected it would.

I face Sansone who was in deep breaths and in a hungry position. I step forward and extended my right arm and slowly close it creating a small form of handle and slowly a swords appears. I held it with both hands and stared eye to eye with Sansone.

"It's time to end this..."
