"You want to be friends?"

I was surprised by Eli Frye's request. Even after my rejection, the man still insisted on being friends. Something didn't feel right and I couldn't help but look at him suspiciously.

"We will be working together for a long time" Eli Frye explained with his usual unreadable expression. "Rather than enemies and strangers, we should try to establish a good working relationship"

Again, something felt off. Although Eli Frye made a good point on having a better working relationship, I still felt like I'm being tricked into something.

"I won't push you" His tone and voice became gentler. "I can wait..."

Wait? Wait for us to be friends?

Feeling a little loss, I didn't respond while I continue to study the man before me. I wished I could see what was in his mind but knew it was an impossible wish.

"Calla"

I had zoned out until the man called my name.

"Let's work well together"

He held out his hand to me. In a bit of a daze, I unconsciously put my hand into his. While we shook hands, the man smiled. Despite how warm his smile was, I couldn't help but wonder if I stepped into some sort of trap.
