Melinda and Nate wedding was today and everything is going crazy!

Everyone was running around to make sure everything was perfect around the house. The wedding was here at Nate house but at the park with a good venue. We had gone the night before to decorate everything but today was so worse! I hated getting all dressed up and have to look pretty. My hair was pulled into a elegant bun with strains hanging down with some natural makeup. The bridesmaid and my dress was the same color of a soft ivory but all three of our dresses were style differently but still long.

I looked at Blue in the mirror who was across from me. I haven't seen Blue since that night of Alaric party and the massacre. She seemed so very skinny now with hallow cheeks but she was still grieving the lost of Marco. It took a hard toll on her since Marco was her true mate and she might as well died that day.

I haven't been able to talk to her yet.

Aeriela ran over in her pretty emerald dress that looked beautiful on her. She surprisingly stood still as they applied makeup to her face and all the freckles on her face was gone. Her long red hair was straighten and the top half was pull back away from her face. "My skin looks so lighter and clearer." she said as she looked in the mirror. "I don't even recognize myself, Mat."

"You look beautiful." I said, making her smile and I'm sure she felt beautiful. She kept looking at herself in the mirror with a big smile on her face and her eyes seem to lit up allot.

The door to the big guest room opened and Killian came in looking very handsome in his slim tuxedo. I stood up as he walked over towards me and I smiled at him, "I see Nate best man is all ready and prepared."

He forced a smile, "Nate need to see you in his office." he said, confusing me since he didn't look excited about the wedding as if something worried him. I sighed heavily since this doesn't sound like a good thing.

I walked out of the room and over towards Nate office. I walked into the room see Cortez in the room and I was taken back since I hadn't expected to see her. Nate was sitting at his desk in his tuxedo looked stress as he looked at me.

"What are you doing here?" I asked her as I walked towards her.

She smiled at me as she held out some papers towards me, "You were right, Miss. Vaughn. You can't mutate tame wolves genes." she said as I looked down at some weird pictures of I don't know what they are. Are they chromosomes? I flipped the page two see a pair of chromosomes matching another pair then another pair was brightly blue. "But you can mutate wild wolves like yourself." she said, making my blood went cold. "It was that one wolf chromosome that was higher that made it mutate with a regular human. You're gonna make history, Miss. Vaughn."

I stared down at the picture of chromosomes as my blood felt so cold and I didn't know how to respond since I hadn't expected this. Staring at the picture there was evidence of research that prove you can mutate human and wolf DNA. No, this can't be possible! I lowered the paper, "What's it gonna take for you to stay quiet?"

"I have to show this to my colleagues. Once it could be found I must report it. I thought I would come tell you first the good news." she said, chuckling.

"Good news?" I scoffed. I ripped the paper up as my eyes turned, "You're gonna expose hundreds and hundreds of years wolves most important secret. You can't."

She sighed heavily, "Miss. Vaughn, it's the twenty-first century it's okay to come out and tell the world—"

"No it's not." Nate said as he stood up and walked over. "Humans like you are doing what we are always worried about. Testing on us, being scared of us. We're kept in the dark for a reason and we're all perfectly okay not being differently. You will stop this research."

"This could save allot of US soldiers." she said, scoffing. "This is a breaking through. God knows what it else it could. It could save lives. I have watched you heal quickly while I cut your arm while you were sleeping. Not even a scar was left behind as it healed." she said. "Miss. Vaughn, you will be paid allot of money if you let us continue to research on you."

"No, we're sorry. Mat isn't gonna be your lab rat." he said.

"This might not even work, it could actually be wrong." I told her. "It might make them a little faster and have better hearing. I won't sale out my kind for money."

"I don't think that's your choice." she said, confusing me. "If you don't let us research on you, I'll be force to go in another direction. Maybe I should go to the media, we do have allot of videos of your kind. We know how to push your buttons to and have the news catch you transform. Like I had said, it's the twenty-first century, you're secret bound to come out any time now so why not now?"

"This mutation could also trouble." Nate coldly said. "What if someone from another country gets a hold of it and they give it to their soldiers? You're only gonna cause trouble."

"I'm still thinking about the greater it could do. Like possibly save lives." she said. "Do you know how many awards I could get because of this? I'm gonna get the Nobel prize for this. Miss. Vaughn, you will go down in history for the one to helped me do this."

"No." I said, shaking my head. "It's to risky and I won't be the traitor to my kind up. You're thinking of your kind but I'm also thinking of mine."

She's breathed in and out heavily, "I'm gonna give you a few days to think about it." she said. "You either do this with me or I'll do the other way—either way you're secret is almost done for. Enjoy your wedding, Mr. Summers." she said before walking around me and left.

"We can't let her expose our secrets, Mat." Nate said as I stared out the door she went from. He was right, we couldn't let her do that but what are we gonna do? She's determine to finish her father work that he started and with me she can do that

I sighed heavily, "You just remember it's your wedding day and it's time to be happy for Melinda." I said as I walked out of the room.

*

Like we planned, the guest list wasn't very big. It was good since I was a little shy as I walked up the isle with my arm wrapped around Killian. I stood first in line as Killian went behind Nate who looked slightly nervous. I mouthed 'relax' to him but he still looked nervous.

Blue came down next with Will then Melinda cousin Eva with the son of one of the elders in the pack that Nate got close with name Tyson. Melinda stepped out of the venue with Lincoln and I had to force my smile to stay up. Alana looked annoyed as she watched but forced a smile also as Melinda looked at her.

When they got to the top, Lincoln gave Melinda to Nate. I avoided looking at Lincoln who was near me and he did the same thing before he sat down next to Alana since they had to play like they could get along for Melinda sake. The ceremony started with a modern wolf tradition since the person marrying them wasn't really a priest. It was a woman who does a marriage ceremony for wolves. Her job was pretty much like a priest. Say some vows, promises, scared words and unite them. They exchanged rings like a human wedding and it ended like a human wedding with a kiss to seal the deal.

We all clapped as they kissed and some 'ooh' at the intimate kiss. The newly weds smiled as they kissed, arms wrapped around each other and I giggled at how cute they seemed. How'd I never think of them as a couple before? They were perfect for each other. Finally after minute they pulled apart to breathe.

Nate and Melinda linked their arms together before they fed each other a piece of cake. Melinda smashed a little against his nose and he did the same thing back. We clapped for the happy couple and I was happy after what happened earlier Nate could push aside to think about his wedding.

We all finally went back to our seats with our own cakes. I played with my piece though since I couldn't stop looking at Blue who looked very lonely over at the table in the pack of the venue room. I picked up my cake and went over towards her. I sat down beside her but she didn't turn to look at me.

"Hi Blue." I said to her but she just poked at the cake. "It was so nice to see you again, it's been a long time."

"Yeah." she only said, her voice very small and sad like a child. I frowned as I looked at her because I could see her heart broken through her eyes that I use to see shine before. I felt like a bad cousin since I wasn't able to contact her after what happened. Blue was there for me when I figured out the truth about who I am and she quickly accepted me.

"I'm sorry about Marco, he was a really good guy." I said but I think I shouldn't have since I saw her eyes gloss up. Stupid Mat! Why don't you ever think before you speak? Not knowing what to say I just took her hand and held it in mine. She breathed out softly as her eyes look down at my hands. "Don't forget Blue, you're my family and I love you. You have so many people who love you."

She was quiet for a moment, "I miss him so very much. I wake up some morning expecting to get dress and go to this Cherry Diner we always go to Saturdays but then I remember. I stayed close with Melinda and Alana, it was okay for awhile but then they came here and I felt all alone again."

Not wanting to say anything worse I just put my arm around her waist, "You're not alone, Blue. Lots of people love you and Marco loved you. It's not like he didn't not protecting you. He loved you that much."

"I know." she said, taking deep breathe to calm herself before she broke down crying. "I wish you could come back to Oregon, it would be so nice."

I forced a smile and nodded, "I think it would be to."

Aeriela

I tried looking for Ulric since I haven't seen him in awhile. He was outside the venue sitting on a chair near a fountain. I walked out of the venue with some food in my hand and walked over towards him. He looked up at me and gave me a small smile. He pulled me down on my lap and placed his head on shoulder.

"Not to bad." he said. "Wedding went like they all do. Boring in the beginning with that ceremony but the party part isn't always that bad."

"I thought it was nice. Something out of a fairy tale." I said as I put some fruit in my mouth and watched the water come out of the fountain. "Ulric, I don't wanna hang out with humans anymore."

He groaned, "Aeriela, you haven't even tried."

"They said I was weird and strange. I may not be a grown wolf but I heard enough." I said coldly. These last two weeks I tried to deal with Ulric new football human friends but their girlfriends I couldn't stand. They looked at me with snobby looks and I felt judge by their looks. I don't have anything in common to talk about them unlike I do with the pack. "I deal with school but it's getting a little better but I won't be friends with those humans. They know I'm different no matter how hard I try."

"Fine." he said. "You don't have to come anymore, I won't make you. But I'm still gonna go play."

I set the plate down and turned to face him, "Why can't you just come back with me? Their just silly humans, you can have much more fun with Rascal and the other guys."

"I like playing with humans, they're on a team and I don't know I was thinking of going to the last tryouts." he said.

"You wanna play on a human team?" I asked and he shrugged. "But wolves don't do that, we don't do anything with humans."

He rolled his eyes, "Most of us don't but there's a few of us who like sports to much and doesn't care. It's not written down we can't so I'm gonna do what I want."

"Not even I ask you not to?" I asked and he gave me a hard look. "Why? Why do you wanna do human things so much?"

"Why don't you want me to?" he asked coldly. "Look your my girlfriend but you can't stop me from doing what I want to do. I can't change my whole life just to make you always happy. Football makes me happy and I wanna do it but I'm afraid because it'll upset you so you'll throw a tantrum." I stared at him for a moment before I got up from his lap and he cursed, running his hand down his face as he looked up at me. " Aeriela, wait. I know I sounded like an—"

"Asshole?" I cut him off. "You're right, I shouldn't expect you to just change your whole life just to please me. So don't worry about it. Play football and make the team if it makes you happy. I'll be there for you but just talk to me as if I'm some spoiled child again." I said before turning and walked back into the venue.

Mat

I never expected to one of those girls who go up to catch the bouquet but Killian dared me to go out. I stood up at the dance floor with a group of girls and I shyly stood in the back. The DJ—wolf also—counted to three before Melinda teased up like she was gonna let go as she tossed it back. The DJ counted again and this time she threw it back. It bounced as a bunch of girls tried reaching for it. One even almost caught it but the back of her hand moved it back into my chest. My hands flew up to my chest and held onto the white peonies bouquet.

Everyone clapped and my face heated up. Melinda giggled as she came over, "Goodjob Mat!" she said, making me shake my head. She chuckled, "You're next to be married. Yay!" she said, throwing her arms up in the arm and hugged me. I could smell the celebration champagne from her breath.

I looked over at Killian who was grinning in his seat and I chuckled a little since this little bouquet tossing myth might be real.

It was Nate turned and he smoothly slid down garter from Melinda leg who was giggling and her whole face was red. I watched as a group of unmarried men grab the garter when Nate tossed it and some relative of Melinda caught it. Killian didn't let the male come near my leg to put it on me and I didn't object since even though I wasn't married I wasn't actually single and respect Killian.

Soon everyone started slowly dancing with the happily married young wolves. I wrapped my arms around Killian neck as I smiled up at him and he pulled me close to him. It felt so nice to just let my mind clear and not worry about Cortez. I'll worry tomorrow.

Something smashed. Two people yelled.

It was Melinda parents.

Alana was the one who must have dropped the class on the floor before she started yelling at Lincoln who yelled at her back about just coming back home where she belongs. He was holding her close to him by her wrist and she glared up at him.

The only stopped arguing when everyone looked at them and they turned to look at us. Alana scoffed as she pulled away from Lincoln, "I'm never coming back to you Lincoln." she coldly said but she also looked drunk.

"You're making a fool of yourself, Alana." Lincoln coldly said. "You're drunk, lets go outside."

"Oh so you could do what? Try to kill me again?" she asked, making it even more quiet and I brought my hand up to my mouth. Alana breathed out heavily before she sent her fist out and hit Lincoln right in the face. He stumbled back a few steps as his eyes widen, "That's for wasting twenty years of my life with you."

Nate walked passed me and I followed with him over towards them. I grabbed Alana arm to pull her away from Lincoln while Nate went beside Lincoln, "You should just go—"

"No, this is also my daughter wedding." Lincoln said coldly who turned to look at Melinda. "You remember that, Lindy? I'm your father."

Melinda lowered her head looking upset her parents were fighting at her wedding.

I scoffed, "Both of you stop it, you're ruining this day for the both of them. Alana, you're drunk and you know it. Don't say anything else you'll regret later."

Alana growled at Lincoln, "I don't want your last name anymore, Lincoln. I want a divorce and I want it soon." she said. I made her turned around since I knew she was heated and nothing was gonna stop her unless I make her turn.

*

After tucking Alana into bed which she passed out quickly I left the room. I went downstairs and out of Nate home. I went over towards Killian car which Will was in the backseat. I got inside the car, slamming the door shut, "Lincoln hotel, tonight not finish."

It didn't take long to drive to Lincoln hotel and the two of them came with me to his room. I knocked on the door and he answered the door. He leaned against the door looked annoyed, "What do you want?"

"Oregon." I said bluntly since he was sorta of drunk. I could smell the whiskey on his breath.

He stared at me for a moment before laughing, "Excuse me? Go away little girl—" he started to close the door but I brought my hand up and pushed it back open. My eyes turned to Amber and Sapphire to prove how serious I am and he gave me a cold look. "Go away, you're not getting my pack."

I raised my chin, "I'm challenging you for it. You either talk me out of it or you do it. I'm not giving up though. You don't deserve Oregon or Alana."

"Alana is a drunk mad woman, she's slowly losing her mind." he said as he stood up from leaning on the frame of the door.

I snorted, "Who do you think your talking to? I know the truth, Lincoln!" I coldly said. "You don't deserve to be Alpha, you were never fully trained to be Alpha anyways. My father was taught lessons to be an Alpha because he was suppose to marry Alana. You don't deserve it, you're not fit to be Alpha."

He scoffed as he stared down at me, "Says the girl who grew up with humans." he said. He leaned down towards me, "Challenge accepted. Be in Oregon by Thursday and let the fate see who wants to lead Oregon." he said, making me grimace at how bad his breath smells.
