(Starts immediately after the last chapter)

Duskpaw listened more attentively to Snowheart, while simultaneously trying to remain numb.

It was sort of working until he started nodding off.

Duskpaw never remembered Snowheart to be so boring and drawn out, but that may be just because he actually is tired.

"Will you up to sleeping in the apprentices den tonight?"

Duskpaw came back to reality, Snowheart was looking at him with expectant eyes.

"Yeah- yes- sure" Duskpaw sputtered out.

Snowheart exited the den with her fluffy white tail swishing side to side, obviously a bit agitated that he'd stopped listening to her.

Duskpaw promised himself that he'd apologize later, he'd forgotten about Okai for the moment.

He'd be back soon.

Duskpaw put his head on his white paws and drifted into blissful sleep.

Dawnpaw gently padded into the apprentice den to see her brother.

She knew he was sleeping and she also knew that he needed the sleep.

Dawnpaw crept beside her one and only brother and curled up next to him, drifting into sleep herself.

When Dawnpaw awoke the first thing she realized was that her brother was not beside her anymore.

She stood up gingerly and stretched out her legs, a yawn splitting through her jaw.

She walked slowly out into camp, she noticed two things, Duskpaw was there, and another apprentice was there.

Wait.

Another one?

Dawnpaw was curious so she crept silently towards them, Duskpaw was smiling gently toward what she could now see was a auburn, black, and white furred she-cat with emerald green eyes.

Duskpaw somehow noticed her and beckoned with his ears to come over.

Dawnpaw straightened out and obliged, making herself seem taller.

Duskpaw watched his sister gain some unnecessary height over Rainpaw.

Rainpaw looked at him worriedly and Duskpaw just gave her a tentative grin and looked back toward his quickly approaching sister.

"Who are you?" Was the first question the pastel golden she-cat asked.

"I'm Rainpaw, who are you?" Rainpaw herself replied before Duskpaw could answer for her.

"Dawnpaw" The cat in question meowed back.

"Nice to meet you!" Rainpaw chirped.

"You too, why are you here? I'm not trying to be rude or anything but seriously?"

"I was sent with my friend to come check on your clan after the ground shook, it took us a while because bug-brain over there got us lost!" Rainpaw explained, nodding over to a gray and black spotted apprentice who was talking to Sunstar.

"Who's bug-brain?" Dawnpaw asked curiously.

"His name is Ashpaw" Rainpaw replied

Ashpaw heard this and was excused by Sunstar, the large golden cat had obviously seen the exchange.

"Why am I bug-brain?" Ashpaw questioned to his companion.

"You, were the one who got us lost" Rainpaw snarked in reply.

"What? No way, you told us to take a shortcut even though you've never been to this camp" Ashpaw shot back.

"Are you messing with me? No- nonono- you said you saw a trail!"

"I said I saw a trail- not a shortcut!"

"Well that would've been a helpful observation" Rainpaw mused out loud.

"How long have you two known each other?" Dawnpaw asked against her better judgment.

"Our whole lives, Ashpaw and his siblings are only a moon older than me"
Rainpaw sighed dramatically.

"Are you an only kit?" Duskpaw asked.

"Well, I was, but my brother and sister were born last moon"

"That's pretty cool, what are they named?" Duskpaw questioned.

"Olivekit and Breezekit"

"Nice names" Duskpaw mused quietly.

"What about you Ashpaw?" Dawnpaw piped up.

"Oh- I've got two siblings, Berrypaw and Sharppaw, they stayed to help with some of the extra rocks that fell back at camp" Ashpaw replied.

"Uhm- have you ever been to our borders?" Dawnpaw asked courteously.

"Uh- no actually" Ashpaw sputtered.

"Well then, I'll ask my dad if we can show you around" Dawnpaw chirped.

"Uhm w-who's your dad?" Ashpaw asked.

"Sunstar" Dawnpaw said smugly.

Ashpaw gaped.

Also, Okai is still there, it's just from Dawnpaw's POV for most of this chapter, and she can't see Okai.
