You watched the trees blur outside the car window. As more green took up the view you were convinced you were being sent to some type of ranch. It was ridiculous. How would you even get to school being this far away from the city? Just what exactly did your mother set you up with?
Nonetheless, you tried to remain optimistic throughout the trip. You were here and that is what mattered. You gazed up ahead at the straightaway dirt path you seemed to drive forever on. There were no signs of civilization, just nature everywhere.
If it turned out to be a farm you swore you'd swim all the way back home and drop out. There was no way your mom would so something that cheap. Worrisome thoughts over your soon to be temporary home continued to pop up in your head, snowballing into a worst-case scenario. As the sun started to make it's way down the sky you were starting to feel nervous.
It was only until the car finally pulled to a stop that you could somewhat ease your nerves.
"Are we here?" you half muttered to yourself and the driver, doubting he was listening at this point.
To your surprise there was no building right away, instead, the car had momentarily stopped to pass through huge iron gates that pierced the evening sky. A perplexed expression crossed your face, wondering what type of building would need such overbearing protection. But it quickly passed as the car started to drive through a luscious rose garden, circling a grand fountain on the way in. Though it looked incredibly elegant, surprisingly there was no water running through.
Finally, the shabby taxi made a complete stop right in front of stone steps leading up to a freaking massive house. Ivy and ferns grew through the crevices of the old winding stone path, which led directly to the colossal structure. The mansion loomed proudly behind the creaky iron gates from before, flanked by rows of skeletal trees crowned in crimson, swaying gently to the chilly autumn wind. You stepped outside as the driver began unpacking your luggage, staring up at the dark purple building as the sky started to turn into a similar shade.
You turned around, "Is someone going to-" only to be interrupted by the absence of the driver and his car completely.
"..escort me." you quietly finished.
It was now dark, at the threshold stood the delicate marble fountain, this time the soft gurgling of the clear water melodic as it resonated in the surrounding silence.
You waited a couple of moments before feeling absolutely ridiculous and decided you didn't want to be outside in the cold any longer. You hauled everything up to the front door one by one, which took some effort. After that, with nothing to lose, you knocked.
After no one answered and you made sure this was the correct address, you full-on banged on the door with the side of your fist. "Is anybody there?" The hits were starting to become frantic. You couldn't really understand why you were so worked up now. All you wanted to do was change into comfortable clothes and sit down. You breathed heavily through your nose and raised your fist again for a second assault, however this time you were just able to notice the iron handles hanging below your waist. Slightly flustered now, you reached out and wrapped your hand around it. You brought the solid metal up to knock again, but to your surprise the movement caused the door to creak open.
It was unlocked?
Taking it as nothing more than people expecting you, you opened it completely. "Hello?" your voice was lost in the space. You started to drag your stuff inside.
The house might have seemed welcoming from the huge doors and wide hallway, but there was something eerie about the entire atmosphere. For one, it was almost as dark inside as it was outside, save for a few candles and the dim chandelier on the ceiling. As soon as you stepped inside you noticed a sudden drop in temperature, the air was unbelievably cold and still. Cold enough to send a shiver down your spine. You could almost see your own breath fog from it.
At this point you didn't know what to do, barging in the place was enough. And as tempted as you were to just go ahead and show yourself to your room, you weren't raised to be rude. However, waiting in the living space, as cozy as it seemed with its multiple couches and recliner around a sleek coffee table, also didn't seem like a good option.
You were just about to call out into the vast emptiness again until-
"You must be Y/N," a cool voice rang out, breaking the silence.
The owner of the soft voice made himself visible in the candlelight, his looks completely stunning and highlighted as he made his way down the stairs. The light almost made him look like he was glowing, creeping along broad shoulders and a sharp jawline. As he got closer you took in his full appearance, from those sinful plush lips to his casual attire, which was a simple black turtleneck and jeans. You even noticed he was just wearing socks, yet he made it look so good.
Snapping back to reality, you answered him. "Um, yeah. That's me."
"Seokjin." he held out his hand and you stared at it for a long moment before taking it.
It was cold.
But then again, so were yours.
"Sorry I kinda just let myself in, I didn't want to stay outside and the door was open so I just-"
"It's fine, don't worry about it. I expected nothing less," he reassured, the corner of his lips pulling up into a small smile. "It's kind of early, so let me take you to your room before you meet the others. I'm sure you must be tired."
Others?
The thought breezed through your head when he mentioned your current state. All you wanted was to kick off your shoes and lie down for a few minutes.
You watched as he grabbed all your luggage in both hands, his defined muscles tensing from the weight but then relaxing. He was strong, you noticed.
Stop staring.
"You don't have to do that, Seokjin," you spoke timidly, not sure if it was in your place to say. There was something intimidating about his character, but it was more so a feeling where you felt he should be respected.
"I insist," he puckered his lips for a moment and looked off to the side, it was a cute expression on him. Geez, why were you already ogling the man? "Consider it an apology for making you wait. And call me Jin." he smiled warmly before turning away to lead you up to the massive staircase.
After making a few turns and walking down a long hall, he stopped in front of one of the many doors.
"This is yours, let me know if you need anything okay?" his eyebrows creased as he said this, showing genuine concern. You nodded.
And with that, he was gone. Already walking down the hall you came from surprisingly fast. Or maybe you were just slow.
You opened the door to your room and practically kicked your bags inside. The lights were off but you decided to keep it that way, exhausted from your trip. You slipped off your shoes and sped walked to the queen size bed, flopping on top of it like a child.
You nearly jumped out of your skin when your body hit something solid instead of a mattress.
You scrambled off just as you heard a loud groan and shuffling of the sheets.
"The fuck are you doing in my room?"
You screamed.
