#7-He Came Back

Hey, everyone. I know BoO came out and confirmed caleo, but im just not satisfied, and I still have plenty of good ideas.
(Disclaimer: we already know HoO isn't mine, but I got the idea for this scene from Godzilla 2014 were Ford's mom is stuck in the radiation thingie and all that stuff. No copyright intended.)
Enjoy!

------------------------------

Calypso was in there. The radiation site-the one that leaked.

Hazel and Frank were with him. Leo had witnissed Calypso getting trapped in the vault. For one split second, Calypso was there. That was when she fell down three floors of stairs and landed in the vault. She didn't know he was there, which made it that much harder.

Leo ran to the door, sweat rolling down his forehead. Calypso would be dead in minutes if she didn't get out of there soon.

"Leo, what are you doing? We need to get out of here!" Hazel pleaded. They knew nothing about Calypso, or even that someone was in there. The room was heating up fast. A few more minutes, Calypso would have to be dead. And then the it would reach Leo and his friends. He didn't want Frank and Hazel waiting around for their death, but he couldn't leave Calypso.

He couldn't answer Hazel. Instead, he turned to a walkie-talkie hanging on the wall. He snatched it up and punched the first button he saw-the red emergency phone. This would be a phone call from all angles-so Calypso could run and talk, and not have to waste time trying to figer out how to use a phone.

Leo's friends' voices faded into the backround. A little green flash lit up-he was connected.

"Hello?" He yelled over the sirens. "Is someone there?"

Leo waited a second too long, but a small voice wimpered, "Hello?"

Leo wasn't sure if he was happy or worried. "Calypso? Calypso, its me, Leo!"

"L-leo? How?"

"It's a kind of emergency walkie-talkie... but we have no time to explain. Calypso, you need to get out of there now." Leo rushed through his words.

Hopefully she understood, because she didn't reply after that.

Leo stood there shakily.

"Who's Calypso?" Frank asked.

Before Leo could decide an answer, a wave of heat beat them to their knees. Leo stared at the floor, a headache rising.

"We need to get out of here." Hazel decided.

Leo heard Calypso's scream through the walkie-talkie, which jolted him awake.

"Calypso! Hang in there! Just keep running!" Leo choked.

The metal room shook.

"Leo!" Calypso cried. She didn't know about the situation she was in. Her era didn't even know the dangers of radiation. She was helpless and scared.

This frusterated Leo. "I'm coming!" he called, and started out the door into the site.

Frank caught him by his coat collar.

"You can't go." he insisted. "You'll die." Leo looked ay his face and saw how scared he was.

"I have to go." Leo felt like crying. Time was almost up. If Calypso wasn't dead by now, she would be soon.

"Leo! Come back! Leo!" Calypso was sobbing.

"Calm down, calm down, I'm here." Leo fumbled with the phone. Tears formed in his eyes, his voice made up of chokes. "Just keep running."

"I don't even know where I'm going!"

"That's fine, it's a one way trip. Just... just hurry."

"Leo," Calypso gasped for air. "You came back."

Leo swallowed. "Yeah. Yeah, I did."

"Leo..." Hazel pointed out the door.

Leo almost dropped his phone. The radiation cloud.

"Oh my god." Frank gasped.

Leo turned his focus onto the little figure running right in front of the cloud.

"Calypso! Calypso, here! Hurry!" Leo yelled at the top of his lungs. Calypso drew closer, but she wasn't fast enough. The radiation cloud swallowed her whole.

"NO!" Leo screamed in agony. Calypso was gone. And the cloud was getting closer and closer. Leo couldn't think straight. He felt like a little piece of him was gone, misplaced... deleated.

Frank and Hazel pulled the door shut right before the cloud hit. Leo kept staring pointlessly.

But then, he saw her face.

She was banging across the door, screaming. It took Leo too long to realise he was doing the same thing.

The last he saw of her was grim.
I'm sorry, he mouthed, unable to form words. Tears rolled down his cheeks.

Calypso nodded. Before the tunnel cloud could cover her face, she mouthed: I love you.

He never got the chance to say it back.

She was gone.
