Dear Sibling, in a distant land
Dear Sibling, in a distant land -
I hope you ain't torn apart by sadness,
My heart, it is reminded of your voice, over and again -
Everytime, I trace down the windows, the pouring rain.
Dear Sibling, who's somewhere so far,
My thoughts always encircle you,
When will we meet to see each other, fair well.
Was this pandemic only meant to keep us, million feet apart?
Dear Sibling, who's locked up in the four walls of an unknown city,
Tears bundle up on the pillow, underneath my head;
The wind sweeps the quiet leaves,
The melancholy of the night, makes me feel paralyzed.
I slide through the paper boats we floated on rainy days,
How we danced to the music, while the others just talked away -
The little things that matter so much to the both of us,
Absence makes my heart grow bitter and colder.
Dear Sibling,
when all this ends -
I want you to come back.
Here, right here, so that nothing -
Not even a virus,
can catch hold of you,
The most precious piece of me.
