26- The man who draws...
A man in grey slacks and a buttoned trench coat enters the building, suitcase in hand, brown wispy hair loose upon his head. The man breathes and closes the door.
The inside of the building was bustling with activity. Men sat in booths, animating his own altered creation. He smiled thinly and turned to face a man in expensive clothing.
Joey Drew stood in the midst of working chaos, and the man steps forward. He is paid no mind to the others around them, and they briefly shake hands.
"Hello, Henry."
Henry nodded. "Drew."
The man waved the drawer to follow, and follow he did. The two did not speak: No, they did not even mention how the other was doing or dealing with the unpleasantness, or even tenseness from the phone's conversation.
Joey led the man to a corner in which Henry remembered quite well. It was his old desk, the one where Bendy's first sketch had ever come along or had even popped up inside the man's mind.
A tiny scrap of paper had been pinned to the old boarded desk, and the man's breath hitched at the sight of it.
The original concept of Bendy, the one in which he had abandoned, was still there, even after all of this time. It was quite interesting. After all, with Henry being the main concept designer of most of the studio, it was funny how some of the characters had been changed by the man by the name of Joey Drew.
"Oh... You kept it here..."
Joey pats him on the back. "Indeed I did. It was sort of a... A reminder of the good times."
Henry placed the suitcase down and carefully unbuckled the buckle, therefore opening the latch. It swung open noiselessly, and Joey stepped back, to give the cartoonist room to unload his loved personal drawing tools and belongings.
An ink pen, stacks of paper, and several other tools were scrambled amongst the filled case. It was obvious that Henry was naturally messy, and his mess proved it.
Joey Drew grinned a fake smile. "Well, I think I already have an assignment planned."
Henry placed his toons on the desk and glanced at him. "Oh really?"
"Yes. I think we ought to test your skills- surely they are at least a tad bit rusty from not working in my studio."
Henry's eyes glinted. "I believe I've still got the talent."
"We'll see."
Joey's face softened. With a fingered motion, wait, and then he left the room. Henry sat patiently, in slight reminisce of the past. I wasted so much time at this desk, he thought. And now I'll be right back at it.
Pretty soon, Joey was back holding a thick stack of papers.
"There's an idea for you to animate," Joey explained. "I want to you make it."
Henry took the papers and glanced at them. It was a long, long script, and he grinned. He looked up to Joey.
"Really, Drew? This'll be done in less than four days," he chuckled.
"We'll see," was all that Joey would say. "Take your time." He then left the room, leaving the man to glance back at it, his excitement quickly increasing. As his eyes clipped over the ending, his mind was automatically set. He already had a perfect idea, as he got to work.
