12. The Visit of Royalty
12. The Visit of Royalty
The news about the queen's visitation has been sent to the Survey corps a few days ago and finally her carriage arrived in front of the Headquarters where Erwin and the other superiors greeted her.
Meanwhile, the 104th trainee squad are quite excited about it and they can't wait to see Historia once again. Although, Levine doesn't get what is so important with a simple visitation? They see human everyday, what's so fun and exciting about her anyway.
"She's the queen, of course," Sasha said as she feed her horse.
"And our friend too. Of course, we'll be excited to see her again," Eren added as he cross his arm while raising an eyebrow at Levine. He, on the other hand, still does not see the significance.
"You've seen her a week ago. What's the difference today?" He asked and the squad sighed in frustration. He just don't get it, does he?
"Hey, do you even consider us as your friends, Levine?" Armin asked which made Levine eye him with his piercing stare. Friend? He never thought he'll ever have one nor he'll see someone as such.
"I don't know. Do you?" Levine asked with a tone saying that maybe the feeling is mutual, however it's the other way around.
"Of course," Armin smiled, "You're our friend now, Levine."
Levine did not expect that for an answer. He's not the friendly type anyway, but these younger teenagers treat him so.
"Yeah! A friend of Armin is also a friend of mine!" Eren said with a wide grin.
"You're not so bad, Levine," Mikasa said.
"Yeah, we had friends whose wor--" Mikasa jabbed Jean on the sides making him silent.
"Since you're our friend, can you teach us how to fight better?" Connie and Sasha asked at the same time. Levine clicks his tongue at their cheesy words, but deep down, he felt kind of relieved and he don't know why.
"Tch," he seems to be loss in words and can't reply to them so he just decided to walk away from them and the stables, right after he finish mending his horse, Zorro.
"Man, he's also kind of like Hazel-san, ya know?" Jean said as he watch Levine walk away with a tint of pink on his pale cheeks.
"Nah, he's more kind of a kuudere type than a tsundere type like Hazel-san," Eren replied as Armin and Mikasa nodded.
"He just can't figure his feelings out very well," he said, making it the final conclusion of the conversation.

As Levine walk around the Headquarters, looking for something to do, Yami appeared once again and started bothering the latter.
"I bet the Queen is already here, huh?" Yami said as he walk besie Levine, but the latter did not asnwered him, "Why don't you go and see her? Ask her about your challenge. Maybe she have her progress."
"Oh, I'll see her later, just not no--" right before Levine finish his sentence, as he turn right, he bumped onto someone as Yami walks right pass through him.
"Speaking of the devil," Yami said and crosses his arms. Levine growled and glared at the person in front of him and annoyance filled him.
"Your Highness," Levine growled as Historia looked up at him and her eyes widened.
"L-Levine! H-How are you?" She stuttered, annoying Levine even more.
"Fine if you wouldn't be clumsy and watch where you're going," Levine said with a glare and Historia lowered her head in shame.
"I'm sorry..."
"Hey, aren't you not looking at where you're going too?" Yami asked, "Don't be so hard on her. Cute girls aren't meant to be treated that way. Especially, royal ones."
"Tch," Levine glared at Yami and stared back at Historia which he noticed was alone, "Don't you have escorts?"
"Yeah, but I ran away from them. I can go around the Headquarters just fine," said Historia, stubbornly which made Levine huff in disbelief.
"That's very un-Queenly like. You royalties are so hard to understand," Levine said before walking pass through her. Historia turned her heels towards Levine's retreating figure with a thought in mind. His challenge.
"Wait!" She ran after him and started walking a meter behind him, "I've heard stuff about the Underground and I'll be making some measures in making their condition better. Isn't that what you want?"
"Woah...my time in the surface might make a difference someday," Levine said in a monotone voice as if like he's saying he's not interested with the topic which slightly annoyed the blonde girl.
"Don't you use that tone on me. Aren't you the one who told me to do that?!" She asked and Levine stopped in walking, leading for Historia to bump into his back.
"First of all, I don't care who you are or what you are, all I know is that everyone who talks are human. You're not a goat, are you? Second, I did not told you to do that, I challenged you. Telling someone and challenging someone is two different things. Tch, idiot. And third of all, if you ever do that, I don't care because I am not going back to that god-forsaken hellhole, understand?" Levine said with his usual sass.
"So just leave me alone because we have nothing to talk about."
Historia just stood there as Levine proceed on walking. He really reminds her of Ymir for some reason. And the feeling of familiarity overwhelms her that's why she keeps on bugging him.

Levi retreated back to their house, not too far from the headquarters together with Hazel whose stomach is getting bigger and bigger. It's already her fourth month of pregnancy and the couple is taking extra safety measures.
"Should we start thinking of a name for our son or daughter?" Hazel muttered which made Levi look at her, seeing she's blushing red. Hazel is still a tsundere after all and this type of conversations or topics makes her easily embarrassed.
"That's unusual for you to ask," he teased which leaded to Hazel, punching him by the arm with flushed face.
"At least I'm being innovative!" Hazel defended, crossing her arms and averted her gaze at the opposite direction from Levi. If Hazel's going to be this moody in her preggy days, maybe Levi will reconsider using protection next time.
"Tch, moody b*tch," he muttered, but there was no reaction or reply from his wife. He waited for a minute, but there was still none. He growled and tried another measure to get her attention.
"How about Louis?" As he said that, Hazel turned her face to her husband with small amount of tears threatening to fall off the corner of her eyes. Levi might hate the sudden change of moods, but he loves to see Hazel's vulnerable sides from time-to-time.
"Louis?"
"Yes. It can be either a boy's name or a girl's so whether it's a on or daughter, we could just name him/her, Louis Ackerman," Levi explained as Hazel simply wipe her tears away and consider thinking about the name.
"Louis? It's...kind of...cute..." Hazel, then again, blushed, "Ackerman, huh? There really is no more Braugstein in this world, is there?"
Levi stared at her before sighing.
"Don't think about it too much. Stressing yourself isn't good for you and Louis," Levi said using the name he came up with for the baby. Hazel took his advice and just put the thought off and turned to her husband.
"Anyway, what are you gonna do about Levine? Have you found out who he really is?" Hazel asked and Levi clicked his tongue out of habit. It's been right about a week since Levine started acting weird around the superiors, especially Levi and it practically irritates Levi to no end.
And what is this about that stupid riddle that brat made him try to answer? He thinks it's pointless and at the same time, it fills him with curiosity. His surname...what is so special about it?
"What if he really is your brother?" That cut Levi's train of thoughts and turned to Hazel.
"It can't be. My brother died together with my mother," Levi said with a glare, not wanting to return to that topic. Hazel shrugged her shoulders and put her chin on her palm as her elbow lay on the table.
"What if someone saved him and raised him?" Hazel asked, "There's a possibility."
"There's not much kind-hearted person underground," Levi quickly answered as Hazel glared at him.
"What of that someone who raised Levine is Kenny? Kenny did the same to you, didn't he?" Hazel retorted, making Levi speechless for a moment, "Think. Maybe the surname he is making you look for must be the same name you hold onto for years? What if he is another Ackerman?"
Sighing, Hazel stood up and walked towards their room, leaving Levi there sitting with a thought in mind.
'I have to make eyebrows give me his papers.'

I am soooo loving Levine's sassy character. All that sarcasm and bad*assness in one body is so cool. I'm starting to like him more than Levi, but yeah, I'm still with Levi since he's the canoned one. Hope you guys love it!
