there were lots of honks behind his rv that clearly wanted the ravenette to move along and stop giving the boy goodbye kisses. taehyung was giggling against the youngers lips, the pretty sounds being swallowed by the kisses he kept getting. "you gotta go." taehyung said finally, pushing jungkooks chest lightly.
"just say you hate me and i'll leave." jungkook smiled, their noses still touching as the space between then stayed small.
taehyung shook his head, hands still holding onto the youngers waist. "i dont hate you, stupid." taehyung kissed his mouth once more and then pushed him away for real, a gentle nudge to get the boy going. jungkook chuckled and ran a hand through his hair, stepping back slowly towards the rv, "yeah cause you like me very much." he said.
"shut up and leave." taehyung said, but the blush on his face said differently than what his words did.
jungkook got into the rv, elbow resting on the rolled down window, "ill call you." he said to the boy standing on the sidewalk. there was another honk and taehyung waved him away, "get out of here before you get beat up." he said it with a smile, staying in his place as jungkook drove off and he could no longer see the rv.
driving an rv in the city was kind of hard, and jungkook suddenly had mad respect for any bus driver in this part of town. he had to take the rv back, then walk home to his apartment before giving his mom a call. she knew about his camping trip this weekend and wouldnt leave him alone until he told her about it.
it wasnt surprising to see the voicemail from her, where she told him about her morning and how she did laundry and all these little things that turned to background noise as he drove. she lived alone in a small house on the outside of the city. it was a short drive to get there and he tried as often as he could to visit.
jungkook knew she was lonely, he could hear it in her voice the way she got so excited when he called. "oh honey!" mrs. jeon said from the other end, "how are you sweetie, get home safe?" she asked.
"yeah im walking in now, i just dropped off taehyung." he told her, kicking his apartment door shut with his boot. it slammed and he glanced down at the enclosure in his arms to check how badly he just scared his pet. toast didnt come out of his home yet, so he must have remained unbothered.
"you sent your boyfriend home and didnt invite him to dinner? jeon jungkook i did not raise you like that." she said.
jungkook froze at her words and coughed lightly, "hes not my boyfriend mom." but he felt the blush when he said it.
he knew they both had to like each other, he just hasnt gotten far enough to actually ask officially. clearly his mom wasnt on the same page, because she kept referring to taehyung as that. "you should invite him, call your boyfriend right now and tell him to get ready." she said.
"i just left his apartment, i dont want to bother him." jungkook lied. he wanted to bother the heck out of taehyung right now.
"Im going to shower sweetie, invite the boy and let me know when youll be coming by." she said goodbye to her son and blew him a kiss through the phone. there was no way he needed more convincing, a second after hanging up he was texting another number.
jungkook got a message in return pretty quickly, smiling down at the words and suddenly running to his room to find something good to wear. there was little time to waste, digging through his jeans and pants for something not too tight but enough so that he could show off a little of his thighs hes been working on.
he found a pair of ripped ones and tugged them on, nearly tripping his way for a shirt. it was a dark red color that sat baggy of his torso, sleeves down to his elbows and a checkered pattern on the back. jungkook shoved his feet into some boots and ran his hands through his hair a couple of times to make it look nice but messy.
the flutters came to his stomach as he went down the stairs, skipping steps and getting to his car quick. jungkook told taehyung he was on his way. shoving his phone into his pocket before he got a response.
the way to the boys apartment was engraved in his mind by now, every turn and stop sign expected as jungkook tapped his thumb against the steering wheel.
taehyung said he would wait outside on the sidewalk so they could leave right away. thats why it made sense to see the boys fluffy hair when jungkook turned the corner onto the street. he also saw some blonde, and two grins, and then two boys waving at him as he pulled over on the side of the road.
"hi jungkook!" taehyung and jimin said at the same time.
jungkook blinked and kept hoping that one of those males would disappear. sadly, that was not the case and soon both were climbing into his car. "hi." taehyung said it quieter this time, now that he was in the passenger seat and close enough to peck the ravenettes lips.
"baby," jungkook whispered, looking sideways at his backseat before speaking again just as softly, "there's an intruder."
"the intruder has a name." jimin said from the backseat, "and hes hungry."
jungkook narrowed his eyes now and turned some more in his seat, "he was also not invited so the intruder should watch it." he saw the way jimin remained unphased and simply strapped himself into the seat. "im also paying for myself so youre welcome."
"lets go!" jungkook smacked the steering wheel before pulling back out onto the road, "there only one last stop before the restaurant." he said, looking over at taehyung who nodded and lowered the music a little more so he could hear the younger better. "i havent met your mom yet." taehyung said.
jimin leaned forward over the console despite the seatbelt that was suppose to hold him back. "shes the best. a true icon." jimin said. "im honestly starving i hope she has snacks."
"are you really that hungry?" taehyung asked, seeing the way jimin nodded in his peripheral vision.
"wait i have chicken nuggets somewhere." jungkook said, leaning over taehyungs lap to open the glove compartment. there were papers and a crumbled up pile of napkins shoved in there. sure enough, the youngest pulled out a nugget and smiled as he held it up.
jimins nose scrunched up slightly and finally sat back a little. "ew dude, how old is that."
"like 3 days."
"thats kinda disgusting." taehyung said.
jungkook shrugged and just tossed it back into the glove compartment, which taehyung gladly shut with his knee. "ive eaten older things." the ravenette said.
"i dont need to know what you two did on your camping trip." jimin had to say. it had taehyung starting to couch and jungkooks blood running cold yet his face feeling so warm. "dude i will crash this car." jungkook said.
"we should have left him." taehyung said. his voice still sounded funny from coughing his lungs out seconds ago. jungkook nodded though in full agreement. that only led to another round of bickering from the backseat and some more idle threats from the driver.
at least it had the drive going by quickly. soon jungkook was pulling into his mothers driveway and he was surprised he actually made it. "get out of the vehicle you children." he said, leaning his forehead on his steering wheel.
"okay! lets go meet mama jeon, come on tae." jimin opened the back door and climbed out, waiting for taehyung who smiled soft at the younger. "see you soon." he said, getting a little wave in return.
the two friends went up the rest of the driveway, the shorter one nudging taehyung to the right so they could walk up the side of the house. "shes always out back." he explained, leading the way until they turned the corner of the house.
they could hear music playing lightly, the volume getting louder as they got closer to the garage. it was open and the lights on, to taehyung it looked a little spooky. "hey." it was jungkooks voice that ended up scaring the brunette, his hands holding onto his waist gently and voice close to his ear.
"dont do that." taehyung smacked the younger after the shivers stopped running down his spine.
jungkook just smirked a little and gave his waist a squeeze. he didnt say anything, because right now it was the voice of avril lavigne spilling from the garage that had all their attention.
"hey you all!" mrs. jeon smiled when she saw the boys coming in. she was dancing a little to her small cd player, now setting down her water bottle to come give her son a hug. "you made it, how are you all." she asked, standing on her tip toes to wrap her arms around her sons shoulders.
"we're doing good mom," jungkook said, "and this is taehyung." he introduced the boy standing beside him. taehyung smiled small and was about to say hello, only to be cut off by a tight hug. "oh youre so handsome taehyung, my boy did so well. its nice to meet you." she seemed to not run out of things to say.
jungkook knew this already and took a seat. "you kids want snacks?" mrs. jeon asked, going around the couch in the garage to pick up a plate of veggie sticks and dip she had out.
jimin came like a magnet a helped himself to some carrots with a smile. "do you have grapes?" taehyungs eyes seem to shimmer and brighten when he saw the snacks, following as well to take a few to chew on.
"anything for you sweetheart." mrs. jeon said.
"bro we gotta go." jungkook said once seeing them get comfortable and not showing many signs of heading back to the car.
his mom nodded and looked around at what she had set up on the table, "okay honey let me make a drink. everybody make a plate for the road." she said, finding her paper plates and handing one to each of them. taehyung and jimin sat down on the couch and started to put things on their plates in between taking bites too.
"okay i have my glasses, my retainer." his mom was talking while she looked through her purse.
jungkook just sat back down on the couch and leaned his head back with eyes closed, "can we play ping pong?" he heard jimin ask. the sound of shuffling from the couch was heard too, and soon the light tapping and screams that always game with an intense ping pong game.
"oh let me get my camera." it was his mom now wanting to take photos of the boys playing. jungkook sat up and looked at the mild chaos in the garage, which really wasnt any chaos at all.
technically they did have plans, and they should have been leaving before it got too late, and he should have been a little irritated that things havent gone to plan ⏤ except jungkook wasnt irritated at all. he watched his friend, his mom, and the boy that meant so much to him, having a good time together in the home he grew up in.
it was kind of beautiful, the little chaos seeming okay right now. jungkook found a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips as he leaned back on the couch. nothing could make right now be any better, not as he felt taehyung look over, a smile adorning his features as well and somehow managing to light up the room and light up his heart.
