Chapter 8
June 11th
Courtney

   I still could not believe that Camp Williams did not allow electronics. I had just arrived at camp and our counselor had to pry my phone away from my hands. How was I supposed to keep up my social status with 8 weeks of inactivity?? I've been going here since forever, but can still not fathom the idea that I couldn't use my phone.

   I finally gave in and handed my phone to Chelsea, our counselor. I climbed up onto my top bunk next to the window and put up all my decorations, making sure to put my backup phone (sneaky me) inside the cover of my pillow. 

   "Hey! Minnie!" I yelled. Minnie came out of the cubby closet and was showing a girl named Erica around. She turned to me with a smirk on her face.

   "What do you want, Courtney?" I simply rolled my eyes.

   "Shouldn't I be the one to show Erica around? I do know the place like the back of my hand."
Minnie just laughed.

   "And you think that I don't?" She retorted. "I've only been here since I was in diapers!"

   "Ooh, that must have been a pretty sight!"

   "Oh, burn!" A girl named Amber giggled.

   Minnie glared at me. "Fine. Show her around. And while you're at it, show around Amber and Cecily. See if I care!" She stormed off to Cabin 14.

   "Ok guys, don't worry. It's just a little rivalry Minnie and I have here." I calmly said to Erica, Amber, and Cecily. I absolutely needed them to like me. Even though I was already popular here, they didn't know that.

   Amber nodded. I breathed out. 

   "Come with me guys! I'll show you the best parts of camp." I smiled sweetly. "I've been going here since forever so I can tell you a few things."

   I already knew that this was going to be a long summer.
