The sound of a crash coming from  downstairs was what woke Aaron up. His eyes slowly peered open as another object was dropped in the living room.

If this was a burglar he was a very incompetent one.

Aaron slowly got up from his bed and he looked around the room. Max and Jax were fast asleep and so was Cory, except, he was on the ground.

Aaron carefully stepped over Cory's sleeping body and made his way towards the door, quietly pushing it open.

It never even occurred to him that he should have woken someone else up. It was like there was a force calling him and only him towards it. He grabbed the lamp sitting on one of the hallway tables and slowly tiptoed down the stairs. Once there he immediately noticed the moving body.

It was dark but Aaron could see him perfectly fine. He looked weird. Unlike any burglar he'd ever seen really, so that makes him the weirder out of two.

The man's pale blue eyes glistened under his mass of sleeked back white hair. A dark cloak covered the entirety of his body. His frame was hunched and Aaron needn't know him to tell that he was strange.

The man slowly picked up a discarded piece of spaghetti on the table and brought it up to his nose.

After sniffing it a little bit he dropped the string back onto the table and proceeded to pushing around a piece of leftover meatball from dinner. Grey really needed to clean up more.

" I can sense you're there, you know? "

Aaron visibly stiffened at the sound of the unknown man's voice.

"Come. " Before he knew it he found himself walking toward the man, who was still inspecting the meatball, lamp grasped in his hand.

He couldn't understand why he was walking.  He certainly didn't want to. Not that he was scared of the man he was just... precautionary. But yet he still found himself moving unable to do anything about it.

The intruder stood up to his full height, still shorter than Aaron,  and looked at him, pale blue eyes filled with accomplishment and pride.

Aaron had realised he'd come to a full halt in front of the man's tall frame.  His rich golden eyes looked up at the pale blue ones.

"Well then.  Now that I've got you, we better get going. " The man then proceeded to grabbing Aaron's wrist and dragging him away.

Aaron seemed to snap out of the trance and he dragged his wrist out of his grip.

"I'm not going anywhere with you"

Even though the words left his lips,  he didn't find himself moving. Not because he couldn't,  but  because he didn't want to.

The man let out a sigh and turned around in a seemingly defeated way.  Aaron was shocked.  He expected a fight in the least. Aaron was just about to protest on the man's lack if perseverance when suddenly he pounced on him.

He strapped Aaron over his shoulder and started towards the door.

Aaron wasn't shocked that the man could carry him,  seeing as he was pretty skinny. Not a single thought of screaming crossed through his mind though.  In fact at that moment he was completely unaware of his surroundings.

"You know, you're a really horrible their. Robbing an orphanage and all" Aaron huffed as he folded his hands around his chest.

The man snorted and wrapped his wrinkly hand around the door knob.
Aaron looked around him,  his eyes failing him as he couldn't see anything in the dark, when just a minute ago he could.

Aaron looked around and started to observe his surroundings. There was a faint glow to all the objects the room. The walls seemed like they were painted with some ultra dim
glow-in-the-dark paint in which all the fixtures were coated in.  He then turned towards the old man. His face was entirely dark.

It suddenly clicked in Aaron's mind that this man was planning on actually taking him away.

"Hey! " He yelled as he slammed his fists against the man's back, causing him to come to a halt.

The man turned his head towards Aaron, his pale blue eyes shining with inquisitiveness.

"You can't just take me.  That's called kidnapping. Or teenager-napping or whatever.  The point is you can't take me. "

The man simply shrugged his shoulders and continued opening the door.

"Hey! " Aaron yelled once more, this time attempting to wriggle out of the man's hold.  He simply tightened his hands around Aaron's torso.

Aaron wriggled some more and loosened a bit.  When that happened,  he kicked the man right below the belt.

The still unknown man bent over, face contorted into one of absolute pain. Aaron smirked to himself and started to run back towards the stairs, the only problem being that his legs seemed not to agree with him.

He tried to budge from his place and discovered that his entire body was glued to the spot.

A weird shiver suddenly crawled across Aaron's body as he felt the weight of a hand across his shoulder.

"Now, you didn't think a small hit like that would keep me down, did you?" the man said with a smile.  What really bothered Aaron was that it was some creepy, cynical smile but a full on cheery one.

Aaron tried to speak but couldn't and tried to move with same results but not once did it occur to him to scream. Neither Aaron nor the man found that weird. Not at all.

"Aaron? What are you doing? " A small voice called.  Aaron immediately tried to snap his neck to the side, but of course,  no results. He didn't need to see her anyway. He knew that the girl at the bottom of the stairs was Emmy.

She rubbed her hand over her left eye,  her small palm lingering.  Her gaze shifted past Aaron's shoulder and then caught sight of the man standing behind him.

Her eyes widened.

She open her mouth in attempt to scream but was silenced by a sudden sound.

Aaron felt that his limbs were able to move and took the opportunity to try and swing one at the man.  But couldn't, simply because he wasn't there. As soon as his fist hit air, Aaron found himself in a very strange position.

He looked down at his feet to see them no longer placed on the ground but hovering over it. It was like someone turned off the gravity. He glanced at Emmy, she was in the same predicament, except her face looked oddly blue and she was entirely unmoving. Aaron tried to wade towards her but couldn't.

Floating was harder than you'd think.

He had realised his attempts  were futile when a steely grip clamped his wrists.

"Never mind her.  It just the Link's effect on Newts. It happens all the time. Now, let's get you to Sylbane." Aaron stared at the man firmly footed on the ground and with that he grabbed a floating Aaron through the door.

Aaron took one last glance at the place he called home before he was dragged away, permanently.
