We looked out to the city skyline, shining beautifully with big bright lights and life. It truly was the city that never sleeps. I could feel the cool breeze brushing through my hair, sweeping through the air and making her dress flow along with it. I took her hand, and we started to dance through the night. With grace and beauty in every step, I couldn't stop looking into her shimmering eyes, they matched perfectly with the stars glistening throughout the sky.

She paused for a moment, stepping onto the edge of the tall skyscraper. She gestured for me to step up on the thin platform with her, but I hesitated. I was afraid of heights, especially these heights, but I eventually stepped up anyways. She squeezed my hand tightly, smiling.

"Don't look down, just keep your eyes on me."

I did just that. We carefully and slowly danced on the edge with the room there was, careful not to lose our footing. Everything felt so perfect, especially her. We both kept our eyes locked on each other, only taking a few quick glances at our feet to make sure we were safe, smiling and laughing as we did so. I didn't want the night to end, I didn't want us to end. We stopped dancing for a second and stood there, admiring each other. She leaned in to me,  and I thought she was going for a kiss. But, she wasn't. She leaned towards my ear, and whispered to me softly:

"I love you, I'm sorry."

Next thing I know, she loses her footing, and falls backwards off the edge of the building.

I desperately and quickly latched on to her hand, holding on as tightly as I could. I squeezed her hand and held on for dear life, despairingly trying to pull her up. But, I just couldn't, not even with both hands. I felt myself starting to weaken as I used every last bit of strength I had, wailing and grunting with every move.

But, as I finally started to make some progress, she looked at me deep in my eyes. She looked like she had something to say, but couldn't say it. A single tear rolled down her face, and I felt her fingers slowly unhooking themselves from my grip one by one.

She let go.

I watched in horror as she fell hundreds of feet in the air. Suddenly, everything went black, and I woke up.
