It has just occurred to me that maybe some readers may come to this book because they love vampires and all things dark and/or quirky, so . . . I need to introduce y'all to the band you're about to spend some time with.

Their name is silverchair---and I meant to not capitalize it because they prefer it that way, aesthetically.

Here they are, back in 1997 . . . a shot of them promoting their sophomore album, Freak Show.

These Aussie boys shot to fame after their debut album Frogstomp landed on airwaves back in 1995. They were all born in 1979, so yeah, that's right. They were 15 and 16-year-olds toting around a hit album. Crazy, huh?

What started as an after-school hobby turned into their full-time job. No more surfing, binging on tele and SEGA for these boys.

They broke up (though they didn't quite put it that way because they're so darn sweet) back in 2011, but their killer music will always live on.

Now, let's tuck (or sink our teeth) into this story . . .

Little boring bit, here goes:

This is a work of fiction, I repeat FICTION.
Yes, I have used the names of real people and incorporated details of their lives and hometown (which I have gathered from interviews and articles just like anyone else could), but I do not know them at all. I'm not trying to act as if I do. I am only admiring their music and the effect they had on me as a teen and today through my writing. Fanfiction is all about paying tribute to those that inspire us and silverchair has done exactly that for me.

If anyone cares to know, I plan on transforming this work into a totally original work and reworking of the central characters (the band, their manager, etc.) into original ones and change the setting and other things. In a way, this is the first draft of a novel that I want to send out one day. Be kind. If you don't like something or see something is wrong (like pertaining to 'chair), well, I don't really care, because this is a work of FICTION, so I am making it up where I see fit. You can share whatever you want, tell me where I messed up if I did, but it doesn't mean I'll change any details. It's fiction. OKay? Okay.
