As the school's bell was ringing for last time until September, the classes were deserted in a matter of seconds. The year was finally over and everyone wanted to start the break as soon as possible. In the corridors could be seen teenagers hurrying to their lockers, putting the rare items left into their bag and running towards liberty. Luca was among them. After barely 15 seconds outside of the building, the young man hopped on his board and rolled his way to the park.

The road was short and in just a couple of minutes, he could already see the trees. As he got down of his board before the grass, Luca found himself wondering if she would already be there. Maybe he should have taken his time to get there? Walking to their meeting point, the young man was already imagining what he could do to kill some time until he saw her sit on a bench. Immediately, a bright smile sneaked its way on his face. The bench was pointing the other side so she still hadn't noticed him. Upon realizing that, Luca's smiled shifted to a grin as an idea crossed his mind. With short and silent steps, he made his way to the bench. Just a bit closer aaaaaaand...

"HEY AMBER!"

As the girl screamed her surprise and jumped off the bench, Luca couldn't help but burst into laughter, much to the girl's embarrassment.

"Don't make me scream in public like that." she sighed while sitting back.

"Come one, don't worry about that." giggled Luca while joining her. "Look around, there's absolutely nobody."

"Still..."

As Amber was evading his gaze, he finally stopped laughing and put his board to his feet.

"Gotta admit, you were quick. I was certain I would be first here. School ended early for you?"

"Well... no. But knowing it was your last day, I wanted to come greet you. Happy?"

Luca did smile upon hearing that, but a unpleasant idea found its way in his head and it could be seen trough his eyes.

"You skipped classes again right?"

"... Yeah." she sighed looking to the ground.

"Your sister again?"

"No. I mean... not exactly... It was her gang but she just walked her way."

"Don't worry about that. You're a great girl. If more magic means dummier, I'd say you're the luckiest in that school."

This kind of conversation was sadly not that unusual between them. But it also meant Amber should have been used to his character by now. Yet he'd still find ways to make her blush. And this time, she was blushing hard. And her only hope to calm down was to change the topic as quickly as possible.

"Soooooo... You got any plan for your... summer break?"

Amber so easy to read it was fun. But still, teasing was fun when you don't push it and so, he rolled with it.

"Well, I'm not sure honestly. I just learned I'll spend the summer alone. I guess I'll be able to see you more then."

"Charmer." she giggled. "But what do you mean by alone? Something happened to your sister?"

"Our mother is sending her to a camp so she can come back on earth a bit."

"That seems kinda harsh... Her fantasy are far from new and it was okay so far. What changed?"

"She brought living snakes IN CLASS!"

"Oh..." was all that came to Amber as she nearly blanked to the tought.

"Yeah... Her bus leaves tomorrow morning and I'll at least wait with her. You don't mind if I miss our morning meeting?"

"Don't worry about that." she copied him with a smile. "I hope she'll enjoy the camp."

"Thanks for her then."

From then on, they stopped talking for a moment. Simply sitting there together. Both wanted to speak but preferring to enjoy the moment. Sadly the clock wouldn't stop its course for their happiness.

"I gotta go." Luca said while getting up. "We're about to diner. My mom would kill me if I miss our last family meal."

"Okay. Have fun!"

"Thanks. You know what? I'll come see your school after Luz leave. If you feel down, look for me instead of skipping."

And with these words, the young man finally started walking, only to find himself facing two of his cla... - former! - classmates.

"Hey Luca!" saluted one of them as the group resumed their way out of the park.

"I was just on a call" Luca answered while pointing the earbuds stucked in his hears. They were out of power but they didn't need to know that...

"Okay. You know, with those it really looks like you talk alone sometime."

"I know right?" joked the latino. "I'm the creep who talk to his fake friends!"

"Ahah! Anyway, who were you talking to?"

Luca didn't answer right away. First he put on a playful grin and looked back to the bench where Amber was waving at him. Though his friends only saw an empty bench.

"My girlfriend."
