*night before Lucy left*

I was taking a walk in the garden when I suddenly feel one strong arm grip me around my waist and a hand holding a cloth over my mouth and nose. I pass out falling to the side, or would have if the person who pressed the cloth over my mouth and nose didn't catch me.

*time skip*

I wake up a bloody mess, with a bite mark on my neck. I look up to see a familiar face. Conner Heath, a childhood friend and son of my fathers ex business partner (they went their separate ways as my fathers business grew) stood over me.

    "Ah, you're awake, good. Don't worry about the bite, it will heal, you will be fine, but exactly two years from now, you will be howling at the moon."

He presses the same cloth he used earlier to my mouth and nose and I pass out again.

*time skip*

This time I wake up in my room, all cleaned up and completely healed, but I now know that I have to leave this place. I pack my things and leave out the door, not looking back. I won't miss him, and now, I won't hurt my friends in the staff as well. 

*time skip to after the Alvarez Fight, and the first night Lucy made the change*

Looking back, I'm glad I was suspended on Tenrou Island for seven years without aging, because if I did age, I wouldn't have had time to prepare for what came a year after waking up on Tenrou and just weeks after the Alvarez fight
