~Part 8~

Another Prinxiety chapter. I probably should mention this starts off during what happened in part 6 not after what happened in part 7.

-&-

Virgil reluctantly walked into play practice that Monday not looking forward to seeing the smug look of that stupid prince. Oh great I've even started referring to him as a prince now... He though in annoyance.

He followed directions from Erin and Miss Chance, and was even starting to get the hang of memorizing some of his lines. Although obviously he needed more time.

Right now they were practicing the first scene where Eliphas and Alexious met. Virgil was waiting patiently for his cue to come onstage.

"I mean no disrespect madam, but I can honestly say that a prince as noble, valiant, and honorable as me will not need assistance on this journey." Roman gave his lines perfectly with just the right amount of arrogance and pride.

"As much as I'm sure that's true, I still think it would be best to have this person's assistance on your quest. The path you must tread is full of unimaginable dangers." Amanda, who played the mayoress of the town Alexious found himself in, returned her lines sweetly.

Roman sighed quietly as it told his character to do. "As you wish." He bowed. "So who shall be joining me?"

"He is very skilled at his craft." Amanda smiled. "Eliphas dear, come out from the shadows."

That was Virgil's cue to walk on stage. He put on the act he was supposed to which was looking distant and annoyed... so really not much different from his normal appearance. He said his line plainly not looking at Roman's character, as instructed. "I look forward to traveling with you Prince Alexious."

Roman blinked at him before frowning. "Same regards Warlock."

"Tch, my name is Eliphas." Virgil snapped.

Amanda cleared her throat. "I am putting my trust in the both of you. Best of luck." She stated before existing stage left.

"I can honestly say I didn't expect a warlock." Roman stated staying in character.

"Well I didn't expect to be requested either Princey." Virgil rebutted.

Roman's character reacted to the nickname before composing himself. "Well I suppose it doesn't matter as long as we achieve our quest."

"Glad we are on the same page." Virgil replied before once again exiting the stage.

"CUT!" Miss Chance yelled. "Good job guys take a break.

After practice everyone was packing up, and Erin clapped loudly.

"Alright guys we've done a good job I think it's time for our weekly trip to Warm & Cozy!" (AN: Coffee shop name Credit goes to my friend Molly)

Everyone cheered except Virgil who just continued to grab his stuff and walk toward the exit.

"Virgil." A voice stopped him.

He turned toward Roman. "What?"

"Aren't you coming?" Roman asked giving him a look. "Everyone in the play is invited."

"I don't think I should." Virgil replied looking over at the large group of happy people leaving the theater. "It's not really my scene."

Roman sighed in annoyance. He then walked up to him and took his bag.

"Hey!" Virgil protested. "Give that back!"

Roman simply swung it over his shoulder and started walking. "Come on, I'll give you a ride."

"Roman!" Vigil huffed, but didn't have much choice so he followed.

Virgil now sat in a booth staring out the window of Warm & Cozy coffee shop. He wasn't so much staring out the window as he was sulking that he'd been dragged into the situation. Roman was next to him, Erin and Jamie across the table. Everyone else was squished into the rest of the booths lining one side of the medium sized coffee shop. Including Charlie and Aaron who were whispering to each other and occasionally burst out laughing, right in Virgil's ear considering they were in the booth directly behind him. He wasn't lying... this wasn't his scene.

"What do you want?" Roman asked.

"Hm?" Virgil asked too busy hating his life to have been listening.

"To drink?" Roman replied seeming slightly annoyed about being ignored. "What do you want?"

"Oh nothing I don't have money." Virgil went back to looking out the window.

"I realize that, don't worry about it. I got it." Roman stated not looking away from his menu.

Virgil turned toward him again. "You don't have to do that." He said a bit more violently than he intended.

Roman gave a scoff of a laugh. "I know I don't have to, but I will, so just get what you want."

"Yeah it no big deal Jamie's getting mine." Erin piped in.

"Since when?" Jamie asked looking to her suddenly.

"Since now, cause I'm too busy to get a job, and I'm broke." Erin said batting her eyelashes at the other girl.

"Whatever..." Jamie rolled her eyes.

The waitress walked up to their table. "And for you guys?"

"Medium Caramel latte." Erin said.

"Large Black coffee." Jamie sighed handing the waitress both of their menus.

"A medium vanilla bean." Roman replied.

The waitress then looked to Virgil.

He panicked slightly and just said the first thing he knew he liked. "Um... just a vanilla cappuccino...small."

"Coming right up!" The waitress chirped before walking off.

Virgil zoned out again, cursing himself from being so awkward as the three at his table chatted casually. Before he knew it their drinks arrived.

"Hey Roman what'd you get their?" Aaron asked curving around the corner of our booth. "Mm a vanilla bean? Nice choice nice choice. Hope you don't mind if I steal your cherry!" He quickly snatched the cherry off of Roman's drink and retreated into his own booth.

"Aaron no give that back!" Roman left the table and went to fight for his precious cherry.

Aaron struggled to keep it away from him which cause Charlie, who was in the seat next to him, to be crushed against the window, as a witness to the battle. He didn't seem to mind though since he was laughing his head off.

Virgil looked away from the scene with another eye roll.

"So Virgil." Erin addressed him casually like this sort of thing happened all the time. "What made you decide to tryout for the play?"

"I had to for drama class." He replied.

"Well... Yeah." She giggled swallowing a sip of her drink. "So Why'd you join drama? No one forced you."

"I don't know..." he trailed off stirring his cappuccino a little more with the spoon he was provided. "A space filler in my schedule I guess..."

"That's it?" Erin asked with a frown.

"Well... Yeah... I guess musicals are cool too, so I figured why not? I didn't really want to be a lead in the play though." He grumbled the last part.

"Ooh~ see I told Roman you weren't lacking of passion." Erin smiled. "And I know it may feel like the end of the world now, but a guarantee you'll love being in this play by the end of it, especially as a lead. Right Jamie?"

"Why are you asking me?" Said girl replied drinking her coffee after putting a very small amount of cream into it.

"Because~" Erin pouted slightly. "I was the one who suggested you help out with the play, and now you love it! Right?"

"I suppose. I was skeptical at first, and do admit sometimes the work can be overwhelming, but I do enjoy it yes." Jamie answered.

"See! Theater grows on you." Erin chirped. "And don't let her unenthusiastic answer sway you. She's just like that. Follows her brain more than her emotions."

"Don't worry I'm used to it." Virgil replied. "My friend Logan's like that."

"Logan? He wouldn't happen to be Patton Sanders' new friend by chance?" Jamie asked.

"Well I don't know if they're friends, but they're working on a project together." Virgil answered. "Why do you ask?"

"No reason, it just seems like an odd pair is all." She shrugged.

"Almost as odd as you and Roman." Erin said casually.

Virgil choked on his drink feeling the hot liquid burn his throat. "W-What??"

"I mean your characters in the play silly!" Erin laughed.

"O-oh right..." Virgil trailed off awkwardly.

As if on cue Roman plopped back down into his seat next to him, eating his red cherry victoriously. "Did I hear Patton's name?"

"Yes. Virgil's friend Logan knows him." Erin replied.

"He told me to tell you he said hi by the way." Virgil told him.

"He talked to you?" Roman asked seeming surprised.

"Yes for a second." Virgil replied.

"Hm..." Roman replied, confusing Virgil.

Why wouldn't he talk to me? Virgil thought. Am I not worthy enough in your eyes to talk to the great Patton Sanders? He decided to keep to himself not wanting to ruin any one's mood with another useless spat. He was still confused though. He dragged him out here to this cafe to be involved, buys his drink, and then reacts to him like that.

The three continued to chat quietly as Virgil listened intently no longer feeling like chiming in.

"By the way Virgil." Roman suddenly addressed him. "Since we only have rehearsal a few days a week we must practice more on our own time. And since we are both the leads it would be best if we'd do it together."

"You mean after school..." Virgil scoffed. "With each other."

"Yes." Roman glared. "If you want to prove to me that your motivated to do this play, as Erin said you were, you have to show commitment."

Was he listening to our conversation that whole time?! Virgil thought feeling his cheeks heat up at the thought that Roman had heard Virgil's reaction to Erin hinting at the two of them being an odd pair. "Fine! If you want commitment you'll get it, After school everyday we don't have rehearsal, your place not mine, my dad works from home and won't want to be disturbed."

"Fine." Roman shrugged.

"Fine!" Virgil crossed his arms and looked out the window stubbornly.

He freaking hated Roman...

Hey guys, I hope you liked the new part. If you guys are wondering about the play it is mine, and I intend on writing it out later in the story if you'd like that. Tell me your opinion. Vote and comment, bye!
