Part 43
Wow it's been forever again 😬 anyway here's the Christmas chapter finally.
It was late Christmas Eve and Jaxon was adjusting his tie in the mirror of his bedroom, getting ready to go to his parent's house for dinner, which he was not very much looking forward to, but he at least was glad Patton would be there. He sighed checking himself over one more time before grabbing his bags with presents and walking out into the main living area. He looked over to see Ashton getting something to eat in the kitchen and smiled weakly.
"Are you leaving?" Said boy asked walking around the counter of the kitchen to stand in front of him. He felt awkward still about their argument the night before. Not that he remembered everything, but he remembered enough to feel embarrassed for letting so many of his feelings show.
"In a few Yeah." Jaxon replied as he slipped on his shoes, using his finger to help them slide up the back of his heel. "Oh." He suddenly said digging a small box out of one of the bags he'd placed on the floor. "I got something for you."
"Me?" Ashton asked in surprise. "But I didn't get you anything."
"It's fine." Jaxon stated waving his hand as if brushing it away. He then walked to stand in front of him, handing him the small package. "It's not much."
Ashton couldn't help but feel his heart swell a little, and bit back a small smile before slowly taking the box and undoing the ribbon. He then opened it to see a set of keys inside. "Are these....the keys to my bike?"
"Mhm." Jaxon nodded confidently." It's parked down in the lot next to my car."
"But how did you..?" Ashton asked.
"A magician never reveals his secrets." Jaxon chuckled. "But hey, when the weather gets warmer you better give me a ride sometime."
"I will." Ashton couldn't help but smile that time. He then closed the box again and wrapped his arms around him, taking The taller male by surprise, but he returned the embrace nonetheless. "Thank you." The younger whispered. "And I'm sorry... about last night. I shouldn't have made you worry so much."
Jaxon let out another small laugh pulling away slightly and putting his hand on top of the others head. "It's okay." He smiled down at him. "I'm sorry too, but you should know I sometimes have a bit of a temper... especially when it comes to something important to me."
"Mhm." Ashton felt his cheeks grow slightly warmer. "I'm gonna stop drinking. Like... completely."
Jaxon widened his eyes slightly. "Really?"
Ashton nodded. "Yes, I thought about it for a while, and the last thing I need is to end up like my old-man some day. Plus... I don't want to keep hurting the people around me..."
Jaxon smiled. "I think that's a very good and mature decision, and if you need help with anything, you know I'm here right?"
"Yeah I know." Ashton replied putting his hands in his pockets.
Jaxon looked at his watch. "I have to go. I hate leaving you, but my parents would not approve of me bringing who they'd call a stranger."
"It's fine." Ashton replied. "My old friend Clay invited me out to dinner with a few friends to meet his girlfriend."
"Hmm, I'll still come back as soon as I can tomorrow okay?" Jaxon frowned a bit.
Ashton shook his head. "Spend time with your family, I'll be fine, promise."
"Okay, I'll see you soon then." Jaxon replied gathering his stuff back up.
"See you." Ashton replied with a wave before watching him go out the door.

Ashton wandered into the empty apartment later that night, feeling actually kind of happy to have seen an old friend. Clay's girlfriend Miara was also extremely nice, and he was happy to hear his old best friend found someone that makes him so happy.
He had to admit he was also tired though so he immediately fell back on the couch after taking his coat off. He let out a sigh before hearing his phone start to ring. He dug it out of his back pocket looked at the caller ID to see it was Jaxon and answered. "Shouldn't you be with your family right now?"
"Well hello to you too, glad to hear you're ecstatic to talk to me as always." Jaxon replied sarcastically. "But no, my parents went to bed and Patton went next door to exchange gifts with Roman. Did you get back home yet?"
"Yeah I just got back." Ashton replied.
"How'd it go?" The older questioned.
"Fine, good actually. Brought back some actually fond memories." Ashton replied stretching back to stare at the ceiling.
"Good I'm happy." Jaxon stated. "Hey Ashton?"
"Hm?" The younger hummed.
"Merry Christmas." Jaxon expressed fondly
Ashton pulled his phone away from his ear for a moment to see it had just turned 12:00. He smiled genuinely putting the phone back to his ear. "Merry Christmas Jaxon."

Patton sat in the living room Christmas morning after everyone had opened presents and were now just trying to have conversation, although it was mostly just him and Jaxon speaking considering anytime Jaxon would say a word to their father they'd get into an small argument about him not staying for dinner. Jaxon had told him he finished up his latest semester online and would be moving back, which made Patton extremely happy that he'd have his big brother close to him again.
Patton couldn't blame him for not wanting to stay At home though with their father's reserved but hostile attitude towards him, besides he had someone he wanted to go home to now.
Patton's phone suddenly chimed and he saw he'd got a text from Logan.
❤️Logan❤️: Come to your front door.
Patton looked at the message strangely before getting up and moving to the front hall. When he opened the door he was surprised to see his boyfriend standing there with a smile.
"Logan??" He whisper yelled, checking behind him to make sure his parents weren't lurking. "What are you doing here?" He then opened the door a little wider. "Come in, its cold."
Logan stepped in holding his hands behind his back and facing him. "I wanted to give you your present in person and on Christmas." He handed him the small long box from behind his back. "I requested to step away from the festivities for a while, just until the rest of my family arrives, so do not feel worried."
Patton smiled slightly shyly before taking the box. He undid the wrapping before opening the velvet box to reveal a necklace. The round flat pendant had a cursive L & P engraved into it and a small blue stone at the bottom. He felt almost lost for words as he looked up to his boyfriend for a moment than back to the piece of jewelry. "It's beautiful."
"You almost saw it the other night when you were over, I was worried." Logan explained. He then gently took the box, carefully removing the necklace. "Turn around."
Patton did as he was told feeling as his boyfriend slipped the cool-to-the-touch chain around his neck, clasping it securely in the back. He smiled back at him, feeling his cheeks grow warm at how close Logan had brought his face to him. He then turned back towards him, not being able to stop his smile for a moment. He held the pendent in his hand, moving his fingers over the letters. "Thank you. I really love it."
"You are quite welcome." Logan couldn't help but smile to, feeling his cheeks warm ever so slightly.
Patton went to hug him but suddenly heard his mother searching for him, so he quickly grabbed his arm and pulled him into the food pantry nearby. He stumbled a bit and winced at the few boxed items that fell on the floor, but moved back into the corner, pulling his boyfriend to stand in front of him, and putting his finger to his lips.
"Patton? Where has he gone?" His mother's voice came from just outside the door of the very dimly lit room they were hiding in.
"I'm sure he's just in the bathroom mother, he'll be out soon." Jaxon replied. "Come on I made you some peppermint tea."
Their footsteps faded toward the kitchen.
Patton let out a heavy sigh.
"Are you alright?" Logan asked removing something from the boy's hair with a slightly amused smile.
"Fine." Patton giggled as he looked up. "Look, we're under the mistletoe."
"I'm pretty certain that's rosemary." Logan replied, moving closer to him anyways.
"I don't care. It's mistletoe today." Patton chuckled putting his hand in the back of Logan's neck and pulling him into a kiss.
Logan kissed back for a while before pulling away, seeing the shorter smile back at him. "Merry Christmas Patton."
"Merry Christmas Logan."
