Part 41
Hey guys, sorry I know it has literally been forever, but I was so busy with school before holiday, I literally thought I was gonna break under the amount of mental strain I was under, and then of course there were the holidays, which were fine but as always hectic. I will try to get some writing done this break, but no promises since this seems to be the only time I have for anything. Anyway enough with my rambling and excuses, enjoy the part. (>‿^)
Update: yikes it's after break, sorry lmao. 😅
Patton smiled as he sat with Logan on his couch wrapped between his legs and arms and leaned back into his chest happily. Ever since their little 'fight' Logan had hardly left Patton's side, not that he was complaining.
They had just had a half day of exams at school today, and now was the start of their winter break, and Patton was secretly dreading having to spend the holidays without Logan.
He sighed a bit frowning and his shoulders sunk down.
"What is wrong?" Logan asked adjusting their position a bit to better see his face. "Why are you sulking when I'm holding you? That is not allowed."
Patton squealed quietly as he felt Logan sniff just behind his ear, his nose gently tickling him causing him to giggle loudly. "Logan!" He scolded playfully as his boyfriend did it again. He looked back to see him smiling at him and couldn't help but smile too. He then shifted, turning around so he could wrap his arms around him, laying his head on his chest. "It's nothing really... I just wish we could be together at Christmas."
Logan removed one of his arms and brought it up to gently stroke Patton's hair. "I wish it too. What about Christmas Eve?"
Patton shook his head slightly humming his denial. "No... it's the two days of the year my parents actually aren't working... there's no way I'd be able to go see you without them suspecting something."
Logan nodded in understanding before kissing the top of his partner's head. "Well then we will just have to bear it, it will only be a couple of days. Us being apart will not make me care for you any less, I can assure you."
Patton smiled looked up at Logan with a smile that he couldn't hold back. He then let his voice become more serious. "I love you."
Logan watched him for a moment before taking his chin and tilting his head up before parting his lips and connecting them to Patton's.
The kiss was deep and drawn out, so when Logan pulled away he seemed to take Patton's breath away with him. Patton then opened his eyes to see him smiling down affectionately at him.
"I love you too."
-&- they make me feel so godamn single...
Ashton was slumped into the couch on his phone trying to forget about the stresses of the day he'd just had. After not being to school for a couple weeks he had to go back to take his exams today, which he didn't have the best feelings about, but hopefully didn't fail. He had been secluded in the office, so at least he didn't really have to face any peers, but he still felt weird. Parts of the staff were made aware of his situation, exempting him from many things, but it still felt weird being treated with so much... pity from everyone.
He didn't like it, and he hoped that when he came back after break next semester things would be a little more normal. Well... as normal as they could be for him. He sighed letting his phone tumble out of his hand and onto his chest, feeling his eyes grow a bit tired.
Just as he thought he may fall asleep Jaxon burst into the apartment clapping his hands together once. "Alright get up you grump, we've got stuff to do!"
Ashton tried to hide the fact that he'd just practically jumped out of his skin and sat up looking at the slightly older male in annoyance. "What the hell are you talking about?"
"I'm talking about our day out." Jaxon replied like it was information he should've known already. He then walked over to him, grabbing his hand and pulling him up off the couch. "You've been locked up in here for days, and I think it's about time you allowed yourself to do something fun."
"Ugh, and what fun exactly are you talking about?" Ashton complained.
Jaxon rolled his eyes a little, but the smile remained on his face. "Its a surprise."
"I hate surprises." He scowled at him.
The taller huffed lightly. "Just come on~" he dragged him over to the still open door to their apartment and handed him his jacket before closing the door behind them. He then pulled his keys out of his pocket and locked it before dragging him into the elevator with him, ignoring his annoyed grunts of frustration.
Once they were riding down in the elevator Jaxon looked at him again. "You know you could at least try to have a slightly better attitude when your around me. I just want to take you out somewhere."
"Why should I? You aren't some high and mighty figure I should bow down to." Ashton muttered with a frown. "Besides I didn't ask you to take me out, so why do it?"
Jaxon watched him for a second before answering with a smile. "Because I like making you happy."
Ashton honestly didn't expect such a response and stared blankly back at him. He then just realized Jaxon was still holding his hand and pulled it away somewhat swiftly. "You can let go of me now..." he mumbled looking the complete opposite way to hide the soft amount of pink that dusted his cheeks.
Jaxon chuckled at his response leaning a bit closer to the shorter. "Besides, If people in the building really are going to believe we're a couple we have to go out on dates at least sometimes right?"
Ashton glared back at him again, stepping away, before moving his gaze to the large metal doors in front of them huffing out air through his nose in annoyance. "Why is this elevator so damn slow..?"
The elevator beeped shortly after the doors starting to open.
"After all, people may get a different impression of a couple whose constantly cooped up in private all the time right?" Jaxon sent him a slight wink before taking long strides out of the elevator.
"Jaxon!" Ashton yelled at him, causing the older male to laugh and break into a slight sprint to avoid the other's fist colliding into his arm.
-&-
Ashton now walked behind Jaxon slightly as they made their way down the sidewalk looking around the strip of stores. He watched his back curiously and couldn't help but let his mind fill with conflicting thoughts.
This whole fake dating thing was starting to confuse him. He couldn't tell at this point if Jaxon actually had feelings for him. Sure, yes he had kissed him during their game of truth or dare, but afterwards they didn't talk about it. They went to bed and that was it. The next morning Jaxon was a little awkward for a little bit, but like and hour later he was back to normal. And he hadn't tried to kiss him or make much of a move since. Not unless he wasn't being serious and was just teasing him like he usually did.
Ashton convinced himself that he'd just kissed him to get more comfortable with each other for their fake relationship thing, and decided to leave it at that.
But still he couldn't help but feel weird about the whole situation. He didn't even know how he felt at this point...
Ashton suddenly broke from his thoughts when he realized Jaxon had asked him a question. "Uh- wh-What?"
"I asked if there was anywhere else you wanted to go." Jaxon replied with a calm smile. "This is supposed to be your day after all."
"Oh um, no not really." Ashton replied.
"Hmm, dinner then?" Jaxon asked him happily.
The shorter couldn't help but smile a little as he nodded.
"Great I know a really good place!"
-&-
Jaxon and Ashton stepped out of the restaurant they had enjoyed dinner at and back onto the city streets. The sun was just starting to go down, creating nothing but a dull orange light that shone off the sides of glass buildings.
Jaxon turned to Ashton wearing the same content smile he had the whole night. "Did you enjoy your meal?"
Ashton nodded silently. His mind was still racing, throughout the dinner and even now he couldn't help but keep questioning a million things about his and Jaxon's relationship. He stood there lost in is thought when Jaxon suddenly addressed him quietly.
"Ashton." His facial expression became a bit more serious, but not in a frightening way. He glanced behind where Ashton stood. However, before the shorter could turn to see what he was looking at Jaxon stepped closer to him gently placing his hand against his cheek so that his thumb rested just in front of his ear. He then closed his eyes, leaned down and connected their lips together.
Ashton widened his eyes for a second, surprised by the sudden contact, but then felt them involuntarily close, as he returned the gesture. The thoughts in his mind suddenly stopped and faded away to nothing but a slight fuzziness. This kiss was a lot more intimate then their first, it was deeper and Jaxon slowly moved their lips together a few times. Ashton had shared plenty of kisses before, but he hadn't quite had one that felt like this. He was confused and slightly frightened by whatever that entailed. He felt Jaxon pull away, it feeling too soon, and let his eyes slowly open to meet his gaze again.
He then suddenly snapped back to reality and looked behind him to see Karen, their landlady, across the street. She waved at the pair giving a thumbs up before simply getting into her car with her bags and eventually driving off.
So that's why. Ashton couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. He turned back to Jaxon trying to hide that fact. Right this isn't real Ashton, don't let yourself catch feelings again. "Who would have thought she'd be out here too, ironic." His voice remained flat and lifeless, and he cursed himself for not being able to hide his emotions better.
"Its a popular spot." Jaxon responded simply, he was smirking at him, and leaned closer again. "Especially for couples." He licked his lips slightly.
Ashton felt the strong urge to hit him grow again. He was getting real tired of the constant cocky attitude. He was about to yell at him when a voice interrupted them.
"Jaxon?" A young woman approached them with a polite smile.
"Victoria!" he greeted back happily giving her a quick hug. "It's nice to see you."
"Nice to see you too as always." She replied. she kept flicking her eyes between the two of them.
Ashton suddenly shuffled awkwardly, feeling his cheeks flush over at the realization that Jaxon had just kissed him openly in a very public place.
"Oh, this is Ashton." Jaxon then introduced causally placing an arm around him like it was normal.
"It's nice to meet you." said male responded quietly, but politely.
Victoria smiled and nodded flashing a quick smirk in the direction of her friend before speaking again. "Anyway, I saw you and figured It'd be a good a time as any to invite you to a small New Years party after Christmas. It'll just be a few friends from high school." Her eyes then flicked to Ashton momentarily. "And you can bring a date of course."
Jaxon chuckled under his breath at how embarrassed Ashton seemed to be getting and smiled at her. "Sure thing Vic, I'll definitely come if nothing pops up."
"Cool, I'll text you the details later." She smiled at both of them before waving. "I'll hopefully see you later then."
"Later." Jaxon nodded her way as she left.
Great now even more people think we're together. The lie just keeps getting bigger. Ashton sighed to himself. How the hell did I get myself of all people caught in such a cheesy rom-com situation? Still he couldn't help but feel a bad feeling build in the pit of his stomach every time he remembered everything was in-fact fake.
"Come on." Jaxon broke him from his thoughts before grabbing his hand. "There's one more place I wanna take you."
-&-
Ashton followed Jaxon out of the car and toward the somewhat dark building painted with small dots of white and lighter colors. He was still confused as to where they were but followed along anyway, against his better judgement, until the got close enough for him to read the sign planetarium.
Jaxon opened the door allowing him to go in first before stepping in behind him.
"Why here?" Ashton asked once inside.
"Haven't you ever been?" Jaxon asked.
Ashton paused for a bit as he looked around. "No."
"Then you'll see why." Jaxon replied before walking up to the desk. He gave the single lady there his name before returning back to Ashton and leading him inside. It was a dome shaped theater, but all the seats were empty. Jaxon led them to the middle and sat down.
They sat for a bit waiting before Ashton spoke. "Why is no one else here?"
Jaxon let out a breath like he didn't wish to answer but then did anyways. "I rented it out for us."
Ashton's head snapped in his direction. "What?"
"I rented the place out just for us." Jaxon specified.
Ashton looked at him like he was crazy. "What are you some rich CEO love interest from a Korean drama?"
Jaxon laughed at that looking to him and raising an eyebrow. "You watch Korean dramas?"
Ashton suddenly felt his cheeks grow a little warm and was happy the dark room hid it. "No...shut up okay, they're entertaining."
Jaxon laughed again. "Hey no shame, it's just unexpected for someone like you, I'd be happy to be your CEO love interest."
Ashton growled quietly to himself. This is what I get for getting involved with rich people...
"It's starting." Jaxon then stated sitting back. The dim lights completely turned off as projectors and small lights began to shine across the entire dome of a room.
Ashton sat back as well letting his gaze rise to the forming swirls of galaxies and star clusters, the colors moving in a way off of their black canvas that almost made them seem alive and real. Planets orbited around them, as well as moons and other various particles that somehow found their way in the darkened void.
He felt Jaxon's hand wrap around his palm and hardly noticed because of how natural it seemed to find its way to his own grasp.
They looked at each other for a moment. Their eyes met as the light of the projected stars reflected off their glossy surfaces, like the small orbs were lakes of glass on a clear night.
Jaxon then smiled softly at him before looking up at the scene surrounding them once again. "Now do you understand why I wanted to bring you here?" He whispered.
"Mm-hm..." Ashton hummed.
He truly felt like he was in a completely different universe, the world he knew was left behind even if just for the moment. He settled down in his seat resting his head onto Jaxon's shoulder. He didn't think about what'd happened all his life or his confusing feelings, or about their relationship. Right now, sitting amongst the display of cosmic fascination, simply being with Jaxon, he felt safer than he'd ever had.
Hey guys, oof yes I know it's been freaking forever. This chapter took me like half a week to write alone because I have nonstop homework! (Yay... not). Anyway I hope you like the part I know there wasn't much logicality, but I have to shape the other storylines a bit more before getting deeper into Logan and Patton's. Since they've had so much story so far. I hope you understand. Vote and comment, bye!
