Part 3

Patton sighed as he walked down the hall the next morning. I hope something like that doesn't happen with Logan again... it was really awkward...

As if sick fate was somehow reading his mind, He noticed Logan walking in his direction.

Paton stiffened hoping he wouldn't say anything about yesterday.

He didn't he simply said "Hello Patton." With a small wave and continued walking.

Patton shook his head. Alright Patton knock it off! Stop acting so panicked he's just a guy... you're hardly even friends... there's nothing to worry about. He smiled brightly and continued his day.

Patton ended up eating lunch in The library with Logan again. It was another day of just sitting in a comfortable silence, but it had left the cheerful boy feeling just as happy as it had yesterday.

Maybe my nervousness was just a temporary fluke... Patton thought as he walked into his English class, sitting in his seat. He smiled as Logan walked in. "Hey Logan!"

"Greetings on this afternoon." Logan replied sliding into his seat next to him.

"How has your day been?" Patton asked cheerfully resting his chin in his palms and looking at him.

He met his eyes, noticing them shine, before answering."Tediously inconsequential."

"Well that doesn't sound good..." Patton sighed tiling his head to the side. His smile then returned just as quickly as it had left. "Can I make it better?"

"How do you plan you achieve that?" Logan asked raising a brow at him.

"Oh, I don't know~" Patton replied before placing a hand on the others back lightly. "I could always give you a Patt-on the back." He chuckled at his own joke.

"Dear that was indeed a horrid pun..." Logan face palmed slightly.

Patton giggled. "Did it make your day less tediously inconsequential?"

"I suppose it did actually." Logan replied straightening his glasses.

"Then I've done my job!" Patton chirped turning to the front as the bell rang and class started.

Logan couldn't help, but notice how his smile never fell, finding it strange how one person can be so cheerful all of the time. He'd wondered this from the moment they met. He'd done his research, by that meaning he asked Virgil and the AV club, and apparently this was just Patton... he was always like this kind and cheerful to everyone. Popular, the nicest kid in school, a good friend, these were few of the many kennings the student body had given him. He couldn't help but be fascinated by the subject...
Could one person really always be happy.

Mr. Conti stood at the front of class.

"Alright, we are gonna do something really fun, and start a project today." His voice was obviously sarcastic. "And it's a partnered project, of which I will be choosing your partner based on what you wrote for me yesterday."

Interesting... Logan thought. I wonder who I'll be paired with. He waited for his name to be called.

"Logan will be working with our new student Patton." Mr. Conti read from his list.

"Hey that's so cool." Patton turned to him quietly. "You're the only person in here I really know so I'm glad we will be working together."

"It will be interesting..." Logan replied. Why Patton? Not that there is anything wrong with him, but if he based it off what we wrote yesterday... this is a joke right, Mr. Conti surely wouldn't... we are complete opposites.

This has to be a joke...

"Virgil you can't just hide here. You have a responsibility." Logan crossed his arms looking down at the boy curled in the corner of the supply closet, refusing to stand.

"I-I'm not going..." Virgil refused again.

"You went yesterday did you not?" Logan asked with a sigh. He understood Anxiety wasn't the fault of who it affected, but he was just trying to help.

"But that was just a meeting.... all we did was talk about it. This is actual practice..." He curled up more.

"Exactly. It's just practice." Logan kept his voice low and calm. He knew the worst thing to do is scold him, that would only make things worse. "If you mess up it's understandable, so what are you so afraid of?"

"Everyone will be watching..." He replied. "Including that stupid Prince..."

"He is not a prince, he's just playing one, and I thought you didn't worry yourself with what he thinks." Logan pointed out.

"I don't!" Virgil snapped. "But I don't need him being ten time more annoying then he is on a regular basis."

Logan sighed once again. "Virg, you'll be fine. I'll be in the library, so if you really just can't handle it, I'll drive you home, but at least try. You may end up enjoying it."

He shifted a little, thinking for a few seconds. "Fine..." he stood up starting toward the door of the closet. "But if I regret this I'm blaming you."

"Understood." Logan replied.

"Thanks for helping again Patton." Lacy sighed seeming tiered as he was gathering his stuff to leave.

"No problem." He forced a smile feeing like his eyes were dragging. He was still really exhausted. "I can't just let you guys do it alone. I like helping."

"I can't show enough appreciation for that." Smiling back. "Have a good night."

"You too." He replied before waving and leaving through the door. He yawned as he walked down the hall. Just like yesterday when he reached the main hall the library door opened, and Logan walked out. "Hey Logan."

The boy seemed slightly surprised to see him after he turned from locking the door, but then let a polite smile tug at his lips. "Hello Patton. You stayed behind to assist again?"

"Yeah..." Patton replied. "It's all almost done though. Everything should be done in time for festival setup."

"That's good. I'll drive you home again if you wish." Logan offered.

"That'd be great thanks." Patton replied feeling his fatigue was even greater than yesterday.

"It's really no trouble." Logan replied as they walked out of the exit and to his car in comfortable silence.

Patton wasn't much of a talker when he was tired. He leaned back in the comfortable car seat looking out the window.

"It may not be due till a few weeks, but we need to find a time to work on our project." Logan said casually as they drove along.

"Yeah sure." Patton replied. "After tomorrow I'll be free after school, so we can do it then. In the library or even at my house if that doesn't work."

"Sounds efficient enough." Logan nodded.

"Okay it's set then." Patton let out a breath and leaned back again, closing his eyes to rest his eyes.

"I'm always one for getting things done right away, but are you sure you want to start immediately though?" Logan asked Lookingg over at him for a second.

Patton opened his eyes again and looked over at him, as they pulled onto his street. "What do you mean?"

"You seem even more exhausted then yesterday." Logan furrowed his brows in a slight expression of worry. "I wouldn't want you to overexert yourself. It's not healthy to be so tiered..."

Patton blinked at him and smiled.

Logan stopped the car in front of his house and looked over to the boy seeming surprised to see hi was giving him such a smile. It was kind of different from the others... he was kind of fascinated by it.

"I'll be fine." Patton said softly. "Thank you for worrying." He then grabbed his bag off the ground and turned to open the door. "Thanks for the ride."

"No problem." Logan continued to watch him.

"Bye bye!" Patton waved, flashing him that smile again, before he got out of the car.

"Goodbye." Logan replied watching him as he closed the car door, and went into his house before driving off. He really is interesting...

Hey guys, I hope you like the new part. It's a little short sorry. I'll try to update as soon as I can. Soo~ Logan's finding some interest in our little Patton bean. How Peculiar... vote and comment, bye!
