Trigger Warning: mentions of depression
Woah, Hannah, what are you doing?? You just introduced this character and now your writing a storyline for him?? Well yes, yes I am. 😏 I hope you guys enjoy!
P.S. don't worry there is logicality in this chapter XD
Jaxon was driving back to his hotel from his parents house after he'd been talking most of the evening with his younger brother Patton. It had started raining and even though there was no thunder or lightning, the downpour seemed to take over everything around his vehicle. It was quite late so not many other people were on the road, but because of the weather he still decided to drive under the speed limit as a precaution.
"Jeez..." he sighed to himself. "Didn't Patton say it snowed the other day... what's with the weather?" He wasn't too worried though, he'd driven through worse before.
He kept his eyes in front of him, but had them wander the roadway a bit as to avoid drowsiness. He soon found himself pulling onto a bridge, seeing the city lights in the distance across the way.
Then he suddenly slammed on the breaks, his car sliding a bit on the wet pavement before screeching to a halt. He shook his head and looked in the rearview mirror to make sure what caught his eye was really there. When he he saw it was he quickly turned on the flashers, grabbed his umbrella, unlocked the door, and stepped out of his car.
"Hey!" He shouted towards the figure of a person standing on the edge of the bridge. He figured the person didn't hear him over the rain so he quickly ran over to be closer, his shoes splashing in the slightly flooded parts of the bridge. "Hey wait, stop!" He shouted again.
The person flinched in surprise, not expecting to be called out to. They were dangerously close to the edge of the bridge looking down with their hand clinging to one of the support beams. They slowly and carefully turned around to face Jaxon.
It was a guy, and from what it seemed he looked quite young. His dark hair was being matted down across his forehead as the rain from above beat down on his exposed figure.
The scene broke Jaxon's heart. He took a breath, seeing it form in the cold night air, assessing the situation, and trying to remain calm. "Wh-what are you doing?"
The guy didn't respond he just continued to stare at Jaxon.
"You should come down and away from there." Jaxon said his voice still remaining soft.
"I-I can't." The guy responded looking away from him and to the ground.
"Yes you can." Jaxon assured him before offering a hand. "I'll help you."
"N-no!" The guy shouted. "You don't understand, I can't! I-I'm up here because I need to be. Because I want to die!"
Jaxon felt his heart skip a beat the anxiety from the situation taking over. He found himself determined not to watch this person take his own life. Despite the fear rushing through him he kept his voice level and sweet. "No you don't need to. There is so much here that you will miss out on. Even if you don't realize it yet. Happiness and love..."
The guy choked back a sob. "I don't have a future... besides even if I did, I'd still do anything to get away from my life now, and this is the only way..."
"No it's not." Jaxon stressed, before thinking of what else to say. "There is always another way, there is always somewhere to find help if you need it."
"But I wouldn't deserve it..." The guy trailed off his voice breaking. "I've made so many terrible terrible mistakes! I've hurt so many undeserving people... some of them being the people closest to me... I have no one, and I deserve it. I deserve to die."
"No you don't..." Jaxon felt tears form in his eyes and swallowed back a lump in his throat. "You don't want to hurt people right?"
The guy thought for a moment. "No... no I never wanted to hurt them, and I never want to hurt anyone again..."
"Then come down." Jaxon instructed gently. "I can guarantee if you go through with this, people will be affected. Even if you hurt people before, this will hurt them even more than anything else... and not just them, it can affect strangers too. Like me..." he paused offering his hand once more. "Please... come down."
The guy took a few quick breaths before looking back to Jaxon. He was hesitant but then slowly reached his hand down to grasp his.
Jaxon quickly pulled him down from his deathly perch, causing him to fall into him, and for the umbrella to hit the ground. He hugged the stranger lightly feeling him cry.
He was absolutely freezing.
"Lets get in my car quickly, you'll get sick." He gently picked up the umbrella and led the person over to his car. Once there he put him in the backseat.
It was so sad... the guy didn't even attempt to resist.
Jaxon then went to the front, folding up and placing the umbrella in his passengers seat. He could hear the male shivering in the back.
The car had already grown just as cold as the outside.
He turned on the heat before carefully crawling into the back of the car. He pulled out a blanket he had under his seat and wrapped it around the person, pulling him toward him. Normally he'd feel awkward about holding a stranger in his arms, but right now he was too focused on warming him up. It was then that Jaxon could smell a strong sent on the stranger, and figured he'd been drinking at some point that night.
The person didn't seem too against the embrace either, but he seemed too lost in his head to notice all that much. He was breathing heavily, and still crying.
Jaxon decided to try and calm him down a bit. "How old are you?"
The guy seemed surprised by the question, but took a steady breath. "Eighteen."
So young. Jaxon thought sadly. "Its gonna be okay now. My name's Jaxon, what's yours."
The teen reached his hand out from the blanket wiping it across his face. "Ashton." He replied. "My name is Ashton."

"Hey Logan!" Patton greeted the next morning at school as his boyfriend walked up the him and Roman at their lockers.
"Good morning Patton." Logan stated letting a small smile grace his lips. "Are you doing well this morning?"
"Yup!" Patton chirped swaying back and forth happily. "Did you get your homework done?"
"I did." Logan nodded.
Patton blushed a little noticing that Logan hadn't looked away from him the whole time. He remembered what Lacy said and became slightly flustered.
"Patton." Roman stated smirking at the two. "I'm gonna head to class a little early, see you there?"
"Um... okay." Patton replied tilting his head at his friend. "See you." He watched in confusion as he walked away.
"Did you get any better sleep last night?" Logan asked.
"Not really." Patton admitted rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "But don't worry! It wasn't because of what it usually is. I was just talking to my brother for a long time."
"You two are close aren't you?" Logan asked casually.
"Mhm!" Patton replied. "We used to be a lot more before he moved... but whenever we're together things just go back to like they always were. We always end up talking or goofing around and before we know it hours have passed."
"I'm glad you have someone you can confide in." Logan smiled at him.
"Yeah it's nice." Patton nodded happily. He then suddenly shifted awkwardly. "Hey um... do you wanna come over again today? We can actually have that dinner I promised."
"You are not spending your time with your brother?" Logan questioned.
"Mm... nope. He's catching up with a few of his old friends tonight." The shorter explained.
"I see, well then I'd love to accompany you." Logan agreed.
"Great!" Patton exclaimed happily, his smile stretching out even more.
The first bell indicating class would be starting soon rang.
"I'll walk you to class." Logan offered.
"Oh are you sure? It's not out of your way?" Patton asked in concern.
"It is not." Logan assured him. "Let's go, we wouldn't wanna be late."
"Okay."
They then fell into step with one another.

"That food was so delicious Logan! I wish I could cook like you!" Patton exclaimed joyfully after they'd finished their meal.
"I'll be sure to keep instructing you then." Logan stated simply.
Patton sat next to him on the couch. "It's been so long since you were over for dinner. At least that's what it feels like... maybe that's just because so much has happened."
"Our relationship has changed greatly." Logan nodded.
Patton gave a small laugh at the comment. "That's an understatement. I was honestly so confused all of the time. I didn't know what we were. I'm just glad you eventually returned my feelings."
"Eventually?" Logan questioned. "Patton I had feelings for you since fairly early on."
"What?" Patton asked in confusion.
"Well Yes...." Logan trailed off a slight blush dusting his cheeks. He looked away pushing his glasses further up his nose. "I did kiss you after the culture festival after all."
"But you told me to forget that." Patton pointed out.
"Yes, but that wasn't because I disliked you." The nerd admitted looking back to his boyfriend.
"Oh." Patton replied. "Well then... out of curiosity... why did you ask me to forget it?"
"I suppose I was afraid." Logan answered his voice growing slightly quieter.
"Afraid? Of what?" Patton asked tilting his head in confusion.
"Having strong feelings for someone again..." Logan trailed off.
Again? Patton thought. "Why?" He asked gently.
Logan sighed looking to the floor.
"Logan... you know you can tell me anything, right?" Patton said, scooting a little closer comfortingly.
"I was afraid because..." he paused for a few seconds. "A little over a year ago... I was in an abusive relationship."
Hey guys! Oh no, woah, I'm leaving you with two cliffhangers?? Sorry not sorry ha ha. I told you Ashton would come back. Did you expect it in that way? What do you think of Jaxon now? And what about Logan's reasonings for why he was so hesitant towards Patton? Did you theorize the reason? I'll try to update soon but dreaded school and homework has started so sorry if I can't too quickly. Vote and comment, bye!
