Part 11
That afternoon it was kind of like everything went back to normal. Patton and Logan exchanged greetings in the hall and in Honors English, Logan drove him home and they worked on their project for a bit, and he even stayed to help teach Patton to make dinner again.
Patton admitted that everything was slightly weird by just going back to the way things were before, but he wasn't exactly complaining. At least he got to spend time with Logan. Now the only difference was Patton was struggling a bit more to hide his feelings.
He'd have to catch himself before saying anything to make the situation awkward, which wasn't too difficult because I don't even know if you could call what he does flirting. He also would blush a lot when Logan said certain things that he thought to be casual, but always meant more to Patton. And it didn't help that anytime Logan came close enough Patton would feel his heart speed up, and remember how good it felt to kiss him that night.
Patton had never been kissed before.
He really liked it.
He tried to push it off telling himself that what he felt was just a little crush. That the only reason he wanted to pursue Logan so much is because he'd never really had feelings like this for anyone and he was mistaking a small attraction with something more. But then he'd grow even more confused when something small inside him told him he was wrong.
It didn't help when he embarrassingly let out the comment "you smell good." Last night when Logan had leaned close to him to point out something on his computer screen.
Logan had simply thanked him, taking it as a compliment, but that didn't stop Patton from turning into a tomato and excusing himself to the bathroom to give himself a well deserved facepalm.
All and all Patton just excepted the fact that this crush he had for Logan wasn't going away anytime soon...
"Patton? Paaaton?" Roman wave a hand in front of his daydreaming friend's face.
"Huh??" Patton snapped out of his thoughts with a slight jolt. He then smiled meekly. "Sorry..."
"You've been kinda out of it lately." Roman frowned. "What's up?"
Patton let out a breath. "Just... trying to determine some feelings I have."
"About Logan?" Roman asked sounding deflated.
Patton looked at him with slight surprise at the fact he'd figured it out so quickly before he sighed simply answering. "Yeah..."
"You agreed to being just friends didn't you?" His friend asked.
"I did, but that doesn't seem to change how I feel about him." Patton replied before perking up slightly. "But don't worry! I'd rather be friends with him than nothing at all. The other day when things were so awkward between us was horrible..."
"That rough huh?" Roman asked. "How long have you two been friends again?"
"I don't know really... we started talking over a few weeks ago, but when becoming friends happened... I'm not sure. Patton trailed off. "I just know I started liking him a few days before the festival, and even though we haven't known each other very long everything just feels... natural around him. That day we spent together was one of the happiest times of my life, even if it ended with him practically rejecting me..."
"Wow... you've really got it bad don't you?" Roman asked watching his friend semi-dreamily.
Patton smiled bashfully feeling his cheeks warm only slightly. "I guess... it kinda sucks at the same time though because lately I just can't stop thinking about him. When I'm with him I don't want it to end, and when I'm not I'm just thinking of when I'll see him next. Like now I know we just got an assignment, but if you asked me what it was I couldn't tell you because I was wondering what he was gonna teach me to cook for dinner tonight."
"Wow." Roman chuckled. "That does kinda suck, but I mean, do you really think it's that bad to have these strong feelings? I mean you have been genuinely happier lately."
"It's only bad cause he doesn't feel the same..." Patton frowned. "Maybe my Dad was right to not want me to get involved with things like this..."
"Oh my god no!" Roman made a face of disgust. "The only good decision your father's ever made regarding to you was letting you be friends with me, and he was even resilient to do that. He is definitely not right about this either."
Patton felt a small smile return. "I guess you're right."
"You know I'm right." Roman corrected. "Don't worry too much about Logan. Just give it some time. Any guy would be crazy not to fall for you, and if he doesn't who knows? Maybe someone else will come along by then. It's a big world."
"Alright I'll try to stop sulking." Patton perked up a bit. "Now could you explain to me what we're supposed to be doing?"
Roman laughed at that. "Sure thing buddy."

"Patton are you listening?" Lacy asked resting he chin in her palm with a semi-annoyed expression.
"What?! Sorry yeah." Patton replied clicking a few keys on his laptop. "Sorry I'm just trying to get a head start on this Extra Credit Project." He then looked to her. "What's up."
She sighed. "We were discussing the winter dance..."
"Oh yes right!" Patton replied.
"It been a few years since we've had one so we have to make sure it is big enough so that a lot of people want to come. Since it's not as popular as homecoming we may need to go a bit bigger to grab people's attention. Me and the art club can start on the decorations, but we'll need all the help we can get, I got a photo booth already, but we need food and a DJ. She pulled out a small binder handing it to him. "Those are the recommended names and numbers of caterers and DJs I highlighted the ones that would work best, so what I need you to do is pick and call one of each. Schedule them for the 14th here at the school." Lacy replied. "Make sure you do it sooner rather than later. Their spots fill up fast and most of them close call centers at 7."
"Will do boss!" He replied doing a small salute.
The bell ending his free period rang.

"You ready to go?" Logan asked Patton as he was packing his things at his locker next to Roman.
"Yep!" Patton replied. "Bye Roman, good luck with practice."
Roman smirked at him giving a small wink. "See you Patton, have fun."
Logan gave a strange look while Patton blushed and shot a dirty look back at his friend before the two walked out together.

Back at Patton's house he was typing away on his laptop furiously after they worked on their project for a bit.
Logan had just finished preparing dinner, which Patton didn't actually end up helping with. He felt bad, but he needed to get this extra credit work done by Friday, and right now he wasn't even close to done and it was Wednesday.
Long story short he was stressing. HARD CORE.
"The food has been prepared." Logan stepped into the living room.
"Okay I'll eat later." Patton said only half seeming to be paying attention.
Logan frowned. "How much later are you planning? It nearly seven already."
"WHAT?!" Patton snapped his head to the clock. He then gently threw his laptop onto the armchair, and shot off the couch. "No no no no I need to call the caterer. Ah! That's right I didn't pick one yet!" He started to run past Logan in a huff.
"Woah woah Patton slow down." Logan stated stopping him in his tracks. "Just take a breath you look as though you've gone mad."
Logan was right. Patton's hair was sticking up in a dozen directions due to the amount of times he'd raked his fingers through it in frustration. His glasses were crooked, and behind them his eyes were blood shot from staring at a computer screen for so long. He was breathing heavily too, clearly feeling very overwhelmed.
"No no no I have to-" Patton started to speak spastically, but was cut off.
"Patton. Calm down. What's got you in such a frenzy?" Logan asked still holding him in place by his shoulders.
"There's just so much I have to do. I have to pick a caterer and a DJ for the dance, call them before it's too late, we have this project, and on top of that I have a ton of regular homework, and this extra credit assignment I have to do really good on and turn in on Friday or my grade won't rise and my dad will kill me, and and, oh and I just don't have enough time for it all!" Patton shouted and ended up bursting into tears as the stress became too much and he need a way to release it.
"Patton, it's okay..." Logan shushed him, speaking calmly. "You don't have to do everything by yourself... I'll help you, Okay?"
Patton simply nodded sniffling a little as he hugged Logan gently.
Logan returned the embrace trying his best to comfort him.
There was a small silence as Patton just enjoyed the comforting feeling of Logan's arms before he spoke again.
"And Patton."
"Hm?" The boy responded quietly.
"That next time you feel so overwhelmed and may need assistance just ask." He whispered. "I will always be here to help you..."
Hey guys, I hope you liked the part. Awe poor Patton I feel is overly stressed pain. At least he has Logan. :) Give your opinions on this part. Sorry if it was boring, but I'm trying to develop their relationship and not just throw 'em into it ya know? vote and comment, bye!
