" Girl, we missed a few hang outs with the boys. Calm down." I lightly criticize Dawna. 

I close the trunk of her car after putting our night bags in the trunk. We hung out with the boys the first five weeks of summer but after that they both got busy with work. Following that - Dawn and I had cheer conditioning, the boys had conditioning, and overall we didn't hang out for four weeks. We all kept in touch but we just haven't seen each other in person. 

"But now we only have three weeks left to hang out." Dawn whines as she turns around from locking up her front door. I just roll my eyes and get in the car.

" So how did the boys get off for the weekend ?" I ask her to change the conversation.

"Honestly, I have no idea. Now I'm gonna start my songs and you do what you do best. I gotta focus on the road." Dawn turns up the volume and puts the car in drive. We pull off and make our way to Swellview. We're supposed to be staying at Henry's house for the weekend but we're meeting the boys at Jasper's house to meet his parents.

Lottie_bear : Hen, we just left.

h_Hart : Alright, we're chilling at work. How was your day ?

Lottie_bear : Very tiring, Dawn and I took the girls to the weight room today and very few participated 🙄

h_Hart : Aren't you guys targeting muscles to help with cheer lifts ?

Lottie_bear : exactlyyyyy

h_Hart : I hope they start taking it seriously, what else was tiring ?

Lottie_bear : I cleaned my room and rearranged it a bit. On top of that I also had to pack because I waited til the last minute 😊

h_Hart : which is exactly what I told you not to do

Lottie_bear : yeah yeah I know I know 😊 how was your day ?

h_Hart : unfortunately, not so great. I had to take my sister to the emergency room because she had an asthma attack in the middle of her dance class 😔 her pump wasn't helping at all and of course, she was using the wrong pump.

Lottie_bear : the wrong one ? How ?

h_Hart : Her friend gave her their pump because it was closer 🤦🏼‍♂️ but of course it was empty and that made things so much worse

Lottie_bear : oh, I'm sorry Hen. Is she okay now ?

h_Hart : Thankfully yes. She's pretty shaken up though, she hasn't had an attack in a while and for her to not have it fixed right away scared her pretty bad. It scared me too.

Lottie_bear : I can imagine, that must suck. You're such a good brother.

h_Hart : I'm just glad I didn't leave during her class, my girlfriend wanted to go out but I wasn't too comfortable leaving Piper alone
h_Hart : Well she wouldn't have technically been alone

Lottie_bear : I know what you mean, I get that same way. Not that you don't  want to leave her alone but you didn't want to leave her and something happens while you're gone.

h_Hart : Yeahhh, you get me

Lottie_bear : don't I always ?

h_Hart : you really do

Lottie_bear : Do we get to meet her this time ?

h_Hart : for sure, she's pretty ecstatic about meeting you guys. She's pretty tired of Jasper always being at my house so I think it'll be a nice change for her to see another female in the house besides our mom

Lottie_bear : does your girlfriend not go over ?

h_Hart : not really ...

Lottie_bear : Sooooo why not ?

h_Hart : Piper doesn't like her and out of respect for the poor girl, I don't bring her around Piper. She can be very annoying when she doesn't like someone 😬

Lottie_bear : oh well I hope she likes me and Dawna

h_Hart : she will, trust me

Lottie_bear : how old is she ?

h_Hart : She's 14 but she'll be 15 in a good bit of time, too soon for me to consider it to even be a thing

Lottie_bear : awww Hen, you guys must be really close to each other then

h_Hart : we are, and she would never admit it but Jasper is just as close to her as I am.

Lottie_bear : that's so cute 😋 I can't wait to get to Swellview even more now !

h_Hart : so we're just watching movies and stuff right ?

Lottie_bear : and stuff ? Boy we have to catch up on Arrow. We missed out on like a couple weeks worth of binging. So make sure y'all have snacks because no sleep tonight.

h_Hart : damn, you right. Jasper and I are gonna go to the store real quick for our last break. Anything you want ?

Lottie_bear : Dawn likes sour gummy worms so get her those and she'll be great. I can't think so I'll just take some of whatever you get 🙂

h_Hart : 🙄 of course, whyyyyy can't you just get your own ?

Lottie_bear : how about I don't come ? We're only 15 minutes from my house, we can turn around

h_Hart : Do it, I dare you. I will call the cops on you.

Lottie_bear : that's what I thought, be a good boy and don't try me again

Lottie_bear : I am appalled, you are the one who's lucky that I'm your best friend. How you gonna insult me like that tho ? I think you need to reconsider the definition of a best friend

Lottie_bear : is that so ?

h_Hart : If you want half of my snacks keep talking and see how much you don't even get to look at

h_Hart : 😭 I know, she's just soooo clingy. Like she has to talk to or see me every second of the day, she pops up at my job, she stops by my house and then when I tell her to leave she gets all sad ! Like I did something wrong! It's suffocating and annoying 😤😤

Lottie_bear : Well did you ever consider that if you would take initiative and talk to her first she wouldn't be so clingy ? She's clingy because she feels you're not showing any interest in her

h_Hart : I don't think so

Lottie_bear : ask her rn about it, I bet you she says she feels like you don't pay attention to her

h_Hart : yeah aight
h_Hart : Alright, give me 5 minutes bc I gotta pay for all the crap I bought and text her

I put my phone down and stare out the window.

"You like him, don't you?" Dawn asks me and I nod my head.

"Yeah, but you know I would never go after him." I try not to think of the last boy I liked.

"It wasn't exactly your fault you know. A lot of things went wrong in his life way before you guys broke up." Dawn says bringing up bad memories. 

"Dee stop." I say sharply.

"Okay, sorry." She whispers and turns up the music I didn't even realize she had turned down.

h_Hart : so you were right, she feels like I've been drifting away from her

I smile sadly.

"It'd never happen anyway." I say as I read Henry's next set of texts.

h_Hart : We're working things out rn
h_Hart : Would you guys mind if she came to hang out with us tonight ?

"He wants to bring his girlfriend, tonight." I say and Dawn chokes causing her to swerve a little. Lord no, not right now! It's not our time

"GIRL !" I yell and pat her back.

"I'm good, tell him hell no." Dawn says. I shrug.

"I just left him on read." I try to type but no response sounds good enough.

"Don't you dare be nice." Dawn says through her teeth.

Lottie_bear : maybe another time ? Dawn isn't too happy about it.

h_Hart : Five people would be more fun

"Five is an uneven number meaning somebody would always feel left out. That always happens whether it's for one second or the whole time." Dawn seethes. I don't know why she's so mad over this but I also don't know why I read his text aloud.

Lottie_bear : four's already past a crowd
Lottie_bear : Dawn says no

h_Hart : what do you say ?

Lottie_bear : what does Jasper say ?

h_Hart : No

Lottie_bear : then majority wins without me even having to vote

h_Hart : always the mediator 🙄 alright this time I'll let it slide
