Wow, hi. I can't believe we've made it all the way to the end. This is kind of crazy, like, wow. For me, it's always so unbelievable to mark a story as complete, but here I am again. This has been kind of a long journey.
My story started a while ago, before Nanowrimo in 2019. It was just a title and a small idea. Then as we grew closer to November, I kept thinking about this and I really wanted to write it. It kept calling to me. Originally, my nano project was meant to be The Beard's spin-off, but obviously, that didn't happen. No matter. I'm happy that I had a chance to write this.
Wanna hear some secrets about Butterfly In the Sky? Well, I'm sharing anyways.
This story was just meant to be a lesbian story. Originally, I wanted to write an alpha female story that showcased two females who are strong. Alexei (before she was even called Alexei) was supposed to be alpha of a neighboring pack. I was going to take that stupid approach of Sophia-Grace's dad selling her away. Ugh, I'm so happy I didn't do that. So, with that being said, Rory was not supposed to exist. But can you really imagine the bok without him? Hello no, you better not. He's too precious.
Timothy was not meant to be a character. By that, I mean he wasn't supposed to play such a huge role. His character came completely out of nowhere, but he was a good bad guy, right? Right? Maybe not, anyways. I'm not sure where he came from. I think he was made as a reason for Sophia-Grace and Rory having to leave quickly. He's like a filler person. Oh, but it worked out because she had to stay alpha for things to be poppin.
When Alexei came along, she was mean to be queen. So, basically, it would have been like Ameri and Sophia-Grace were mates lol. Alexei's character was random as well. She was just going to be the guard or whatever and that's that. But I changed it up because ew, basic. So, along with that, her whole plot line was drafted abruptly. The whole Stephanie's death, her being Ameri's sister, etc.
I also thought of briefly making Ingrid SG's mate. How weird would that have been?
The warriors were a random thought. Yeah, I dunno. Did I need something because three people against a whole pack? I didn't want things to be easy with SG being a celestial. Like, I needed her to basically be useless unless she needed to fight.
Honestly, y'all, I'm a panster. Sometimes a plantser. I think as I go so we can be here all day talking about what should have gone wrong, but we won't. But I will say that I'm so happy I decided to rewrite the story in chapter 19 because it was shit at that point. I was just writing whatever because I wanted to get to 50k. Fun fact, Cytherea wasn't meant to betray then and SG was meant to have fairy guards at her service. Be happy I rewrote. So, is there a moral of the story? Genuinely, I don't think so. I tried to include elements that could be a lesson, but it didn't happen like that, sorry.
Let's talk sequel. Is there going to be one? Oh, absolutely. I mentioned it multiple times but no one answered if they wanted one or not. Well, you would have gotten one anyway. As you can see, there are a lot of unanswered questions that will be filled in the sequel. When will it be out? No fucking idea. I haven't started writing it yet and I need to decide if it'll be my nano project or not!
Well, I think that's all. Thank you so much for reading. You don't understand how much I really and truly appreciate you guys. At one point, we were #1 for gxgxb and that's all because of you guys! If you're interested in reading more about SG, Rory, and Alexei, keep this book and archive it or follow me. Your choice. I love you guys and I'll check you next time, babes.
