Chapter 25

*Boop*

Danny flew towards where the two heroes were standing.

Chat Noir grinned at him, almost bouncing on his feet. "So you're a halfghost from Amity Park?! You're a superhero like us!!"

Marinette must have filled him in. He landed in front of them "Yep." Danny smiled at him before looking around for the one thing he was missing. He found the shield that had managed to not pop during the fight and let it dissipate. His ladies inside fluttered out and beelined their way towards him. He apologized and giggled as they floundered around him.

"Awesome," Chat noted.

Danny grinned at him. "I call this form Danny Phantom."

Chat nodded. "I remember. Alya said you fought ghosts from another dimension. Do your parents know? Wait." Chat's cat-like pupils dilated. "They're Ghost hunters right?" He asked cautiously.

Danny nodded. He was surprised the first thing he asked the half ghost about was about his relationship with his parents. "Well yeah. They don't know. It used to be terrifying, but they've learned much more about ghosts and aren't as against them as they used to be."

Chat didn't seem convinced, but he left it at that. Seemingly thinking it would be a sore subject. Danny wouldn't have minded, though. He'd long since forgiven his parents of their past treatment to ghosts. Forgiven yes, but not forgotten. It did help that they had accepted Phantom as a hero almost a year before they left Amity. It was one of the reasons they had felt it was safe to leave and shift their attention to another kind of otherworldly beings.

Ladybug shifted on her feet. "By the way. You're really good with dealing with victims."

Danny nodded as he tried to hide a wince from the pain his back was giving him. "Yeah. Had a lot of experience and practice dealing with the after fight damage. You guys have no idea how lucky you are with that swarm of cleaning up ladybugs or whatever. I've lost count of the angry citizens after my head for property damage." He frowned. "How do you do it, though?"

Ladybug wasn't completely listening. She was checking Danny over with a concerned expression. She snapped to attention at the question. "I haven't used my Lucky Charm yet. It's part of the process. But Danny, are you alright? Our suits protect us from injuries, but you're looking a bit pale."

Danny grinned and waved her off. "That's just my ghost half. I'm usually pale like this. Besides, I'm used to being thrown into buildings and breaking a few bones and all." He trailed off, realizing that was probably not the best thing to say.

Chat's eyes widened. "You broke bones in fights? That's...are you- Are you really fine? You must be pretty bruised up."

Danny sighed and rubbed his side. "Alright. I might have a few cuts and bruises, but it will be healed in a week. My healing factor is a bit faster than the norm and they're not that severe."

Ladybug was already waving him down. "Sit down. I want to see them."

She wouldn't hear of it when he complained so he complied and lifted the top part of his suit to reveal his injuries. The two teens flinched, not used to dealing with just wounds. Not to mention it looked worse with how thick Danny's ectoplasmic blood was.

"I know what to use my Lucky Charm for," Ladybug mumbled and without warning threw her yoyo into the sky. There was a flash and something fell right in her arms.

Chat scrunched his eyebrows and his ears twitched in confusion. "Wouldn't your powers heal him, though? It works on citizens and whenever we have a rough fight."

Ladybug sighed as she looked at the box in her hands. "The Lucky Charm doesn't seem to think so. It only gives me things I need. Not whatever I want."

Danny raised his eyebrows at the first aid kit she was opening. "That is so cool. I usually just have my friends to carry it around in a backpack."

Chat smiled wide at him as Ladybug frowned in confusion at the weird chemicals in the box. "Your friends are superheros too?"

"Oh no. They're normal humans. But they would help out a lot." Danny waved at Marinette to hand him the little box and he rummaged through it. "Sweet. Your power seems to know exactly what I need." He took out a desinfectant and poured it on a piece of cloth, running that over a few cuts and washing off the bit of blood. It wasn't that bad. He was just glad he could avoid it getting infected like the other times. They had not been fun.

Chat and Ladybug sat down in front of him. They looked on with interest as he worked.

Suddenly a beeping sound broke the silence. Chat held his paw up and sighed. "I gotta go. My transformation will run out soon."

Danny narrowed his eyes. "Your transformation runs out? Is it because of the energy used? That happens to me too." He paused. "Actually, Chat." He pressed his lips together and Ladybug groaned. "How do I know you're to trust with my secret identity?"

Chat seemed genuinely surprised. "What? I won't tell anyone."

Danny huffed. "It's bad enough that Hawkmoth found out. Who knows what kind of things he can use against me now. But I'm sure he won't go around telling people. He'll use it to his advantage. Besides, it's basically your fault he knows. So I'd say you owe me one."

"My fault?!" Chat said shocked. "Well but... I didn't-" He stuttered before giving up. He didn't have an argument for that. Another beep resounded in the room. The black cat turned towards Ladybug undesisively.

She shrugged. She knew Danny had apparent trust issues. However, she didn't know what he had gone through in his years as a superhero so she didn't blame him. It was Chat's choice and decision, but Danny most likely wouldn't let him go until he could be sure he could trust Chat. And not only in guarding his secret, but as a crime fighting partner.

Ladybug had worked long enough with him to trust him with her life. She didn't feel like she had to know who he was under the mask. They had started of together and would keep going together.

Chat took a deep breath and sighed as he plopped back down.

Ladybug's eyes widened a bit. "I can leave of you want."

The other frowned. "What? But-"

Danny waved his hand. "I already know her."

"What?!"

Ladybug blushed when he stared at her in shock and slight betrayal. "I was cornered."

Chat frowned at Danny for a moment before sighing deeply. "You can stay. If Danny gets to know, then you can too. I wanted to tell you anyway." He raised a paw, on which the ring only had three lights left. "You don't need to tell me or anything."

She nodded and they settled down to wait for the transformation to wear off. Danny finished wrapping some bandages on and checked over the rest of his body. He tried to rub some cream for the bruises on his back, but he couldn't quite reach.

Ladybug offered to help him. As she took the cream and lifted his suit she gasped. "Danny, were you caught on fire or something?"

Danny blinked in surprise and looked down at the scar, making Chat direct his gaze there too and his eyes widen. The albino sighed. "Story for another time, Ladybug."

She scowled, but when another beep from Chat (whose ears were pressed backwards, a sure sign of distress or concern) resounded she felt the protective energy drain from her. She slumped and spread the cream over his back quickly. He sighed in relief as she closed the flask and put it in the first aid kit, sitting down cross-legged next to her boys.

She flicked the box up with one hand, muttering: "Miraculous Ladybug and all that."

Danny's eyes shined in wonder as the box flew upwards and lit up, turning into a million tiny ladybugs.

The insects split up into groups as if it had been planned beforehand. They swept around the room, enveloping the dust piles and returning them to their original form. (If only we had this in Infinity War amiright).

"Where are they going?" Danny pointed at a small group that left through a window.

Ladybug shrugged. "They undo anything the Akuma did. He probably tipped over a trash can or something."

Another beep had Chat moaning and leaning back. "Whatever happens. I want to have a group cuddle session and talk about our adventures and complain about the villains. I wanna hear all about what it's like being a half ghost and how that works."

"I second that," Ladybug said immediately, although no one was sure if it would happen.

"I third it," Danny grinned. "I'll bring the pillows."

"Snacks," Ladybug offered.

"Aesthetic background music," Chat winked and Danny laughed.

Beep beep.

(Since every of my books has to have something beeping)

Chat suddenly sat up straight, face sober. He took a deep breath. "Alright. Danny." He looked at him straight in the eyes, avoiding Ladybug. "Promise me that no matter what, you'll always be my pun partner."

Danny put one hand on his chest and raised the other, his butterflies covering it and somehow making the gesture look more solemn. "No matter how ugly you look under those whiskers, we will always be Pun Bros. I pawmise."

Chat nodded and relaxed a bit. "Here goes." He held his paws in front of himself as if holding something.

Danny scrunched his eyebrows and opened his mouth to ask, but was cut off by a flash of light. (Honestly, considering they had just fought the Akuma of darkness, they were getting more than their share of light).

His mouth didn't close as the black suit around his friend melted off to reveal clothes underneath (he did not want to ask how they managed to pull off wearing a skin tight suit on top of the jacket the blonde seemed to have).

Slowly they got to see more of his civilian self until the light approached his face.

Chat blinked as a ghust of wind swept by his face, taking his mask and ears with it. His eyes, which had returned to normal, flicked down to see a black creature land in his cupped hands. It blinked it's big green eyes open and looked up at the boy.

Chat was a bit confused that it didn't say anything. Usually it would start chattering as soon as it formed; it didn't like the emptiness and quiet that was Chat's house. Now, though, it was quiet. They two looked at each other for a moment, Chat finding comfort in it, and with the bit of confidence it gave him he looked up at his shocked friends who hadn't moved an inch.

Danny had his mouth slack and eyes wide. Ladybug was tense. Her fingers twitching.

It was unexpected, Chat knew. No one would expect someone like the flaboyant and charismatic and probably annoying superhero Chat Noir to be....

Adrien Agreste.

Whoaaa. Cliffhangerrrr. No one expected that right. I didn't even and I just wrote this.

Anyways I had this finished yesterday but then it didn't save and half my progress was erased and I was so mad I cussed my phone out.
Ok not really. I laid face down on my bed for five minutes.
Now I know how other writers feel when their work is suddenly poof.

I actually think it turned out better than last time but I can't help but worry that there's a bunch of jokes I used and forgot about now. *Sniff
