Depression
The door had opened and I was in, but I was falling down, down into an abyss of black. My natural instinct was to reach out to try and grab anything, but there was nothing.
Then suddenly, I felt myself getting lighter, as if my weight was shifting, as if gravity itself was shifting, and I soon found myself back and up on my feet.
It didn't take me long to notice the crowds of people that were in front of me. But were they even people? They looked blurred and had grayish skin and wore clothes of the same hue. Their heads appear to be bowing low and not a one made noise louder than a whisper or a murmur.
I tried tapping some of them on the shoulder, but none seemed to pay any heed towards me. It felt rather lonely, and I was still awfully confused and upset with what took place earlier. But all those negative emotions were set aside for a moment when I caught a glimpse of her standing still amongst the crowd.
I carefully but quickly staggered my way through the crowd of tangible silhouettes, my heart racing as I saw her figure getting closer and closer as I made my way.
And when I finally made it through and arrived at the clearing where I saw her stood, I expected to be happy and to be finally united with her, but she was gone.
I worriedly looked around me, searching for her and eagerly anticipating her presence. But all I saw were flowers. Pretty, beautiful, pure white flowers that seemed to have suddenly engulfed the area around me.
They made me smile, but then they all suddenly started wilting, and I watched helplessly as they all withered away completed into dust and dirt in the wind. I felt my heart ache right then, watching the wind carelessly carry away what used to be soft and tender living things.
And for some reason, I found myself shedding a tear.
