7. Bad Influence?
I take out my bag while waiting for the other Slytherins for Quidditch. They were always slow. I try to look for the enchanted bracelet my parents (I was told my mother did most of the work) left me. It can do many incredible things. I like bragging to Harry and telling him it's better than his Invisibility Cloak (I still let him use it though since he supposedly had a matching one and it got lost).
To start, it can make me see through objects and walls. It also gives me telekinesis. I can't wear it all the time though. Can't risk any damage being done to it. Alright, enough of that...-
"No... I-it's gone! My bracelet!"
Since I'm still early, I run to go look for it. I stop when I hear Cedric's Hufflepuff friends talking.
"So.. this is Potter's most prized possession? A pathetic bracelet?"
"She obviously knows nothing. Keeping it in her bag. That's stupid."
I go up to them. "Excuse me. You have something of mine. I'm gonna need it back."
"Oh look," says one of them. "The fake champion has arrived!"
Cedric tries defending me. "I told you guys to stop with the names! Hand it over!"
The guy ignores him and turns to me. "Why? What's so special about it?"
"It's the only thing I have from my mother. Just give it back!"
"How about no."
I glare at the group and hold out my hand.
"Look, everyone! She's trying to kill us with her cuteness!"
Cedric glares at me mouthing, "Y/n! Don't you dare!"
I smirk at him and l grab the guy's arm and twist it hard. "When I say something, I mean it. Give it before I smack you with my beater's bat next, or break your arm. I'm warning you right now."
"No."
That one word made me so mad I twisted his arm again, this time much more violently. Everyone gasped and Cedric grabbed onto me and pulled me back. I heard footsteps, and then an unpleasant voice.
"Miss. Potter," said Professor Snape.
I gulped as Cedric let go of me and tried talking to Professor Snape. He took twenty points from Hufflepuff and said we'll have a little 'chat'.
"Besides, Slytherin Quidditch practice started 7 minutes ago. I suggest you get going before I take points from Slytherin. Meanwhile, I'll send this guy to the Hospital Wing. Go on."
"Shoot," I said as I grabbed my bracelet and ran. To my surprise, Draco didn't make a big deal out of it. We just got straight to practice. The only problem was Mattheo not leaving me alone. We were practicing hitting Bludgers and dodging and he kept asking questions that were none of his business.
"Where were you?"
"Why were you late?"
"Did you do something wrong?"
I finally turn to him when he wouldn't shut up. "Mattheo, does it look like I wanna talk about it?"
Just then, I heard Draco's voice shout out.
"POTTER! LOOK OUT!"
I turn around to find a Bludger going towards me but it's too late. I get hit in the head and go unconscious.
Harry's POV:
I go with Hermione to watch the Slytherin Quidditch practice. I didn't wanna talk to Ron, and Hermione said nothing about it as she understands.
"Harry you're insane!" Hermione exclaims. "We could get in trouble!"
"No," I tell her. "I already got permission, so don't talk me out of it."
Hermione and I just make our way to the field. I find two figures trying to bring her down. I run up to them. It was Riddle and Malfoy.
"What happened?" I asked, my voice shaking.
"Just follow us and we'll tell you," Riddle replies.
Hermione and I nod at eachother as we follow them. Once we get there, my sister is lied down on a bed. After that, Madam Pomfrey tells us to get out for a few minutes. I turn to Mattheo and Draco, glaring at them.
"I asked what happened, didn't I?"
"Well.. she got hit with a Bludger and lost consciousness."
I widen my eyes. "What? You're the captain, Malfoy. She'd never do something as silly as that unless someone has something to do with it."
"Mattheo," I hear Y/n say.
I turn to Y/n. "What did he do?"
She sighed in a disapproving manner. "He wouldn't shut up and he kept talking. I told him to stop, then a millisecond later, Draco calls out to me about a Bludger coming my way, then I get hit. My head still hurts, but Madam Pomfrey said I should be fine later."
Riddle and Malfoy looked at eachother, then at my sister and they both say, "You should've been more careful."
"We better change and get to class then," says Y/n as we go our separate ways.
After she finished changing and Hermione and I waited outside the Slytherin Common Room, we started walking to Potions.
"What happened with that Hufflepuff?" I asked.
"I only broke his arm. Nothing serious."
Hermione gasps. "Nothing serious?! Are you in trouble?"
Y/n shrugs. "I dunno. Snape told me to talk to him after class, so maybe I am, maybe I'm not."
I grab Y/n by the shoulder. "Do you even care if you are or not?"
She turns to me. "Eh. I'm used to it at this point. I can go to Azkaban for all I care."
"Mattheo must've really influenced you. I'm not surprised everyone calls him by his first name."
Y/n rolls her eyes. "It isn't his fault I don't care at all."
I glare at her as we keep walking. "What were you before he came along? A student who actually helped others and understood them. Now you're this violent girl who refuses to listen to anyone!"
Just then we walk into the classroom and sit in our seats. I keep staring at Mattheo, who continuously tries to talk to Y/n, but after seeing me giving him a death stare, he stops.
Timeskip, Your POV:
"Miss. Potter," Professor Snape says. "Stay. I need to have a little chat with you."
I roll my eyes and sit down. Snape looks at me up and down. "You're just like your father. Lazy, arrogant. Strutting around the school acting like you can do anything."
"First off, I don't strut. Second, technically my father pranced, since he was an Animagus."
"Do you know about our relationship when we both went to Hogwarts?" he asked.
I nodded. "To start, I know how my father embarrassed you, and out of pure anger, you called my mum a Mudblood. I know about Prongs, Padfoot, Moony, and Wormtail. I know a lot of stuff."
"What about your brother?"
"Is this a conversation or an interrogation?" I asked.
"Don't change the subject. Does your brother know anything?"
"He knows about the Marauders. I'm not sure about anything else though. I kept the Marauders Ma—"
That's when I realized.
I messed up big time.
Professor Snape looked at me. "You have the map? I suggest you hand it back."
What made me say that? Oh no no no no no no! It's not like I drank a potion or anything! My heart keeps pounding quicker and quicker as Snape looks through my bag. I suddenly get an idea.
I throw a ball at the window. Professor Snape goes to see what the sound was. I couldn't use my wand, but I did have my bracelet. I grab the map (that looked like a random piece of paper) and shove it up my sleeve.
When Snape didn't find the map, I laugh. "Professor. If you let me finish, I meant I kept the map in my third year."
My brother did, but I had to lie to not get in trouble. Professor Snape sighed. "I can't waste any more time with you, Miss. Potter. I will need to talk to you later. Now get out of my face."
I walk out. Rude! Harry runs up to me, asking what happened.
"Well..."
A/N: 1,345 (no one asked but whatever) words... That's good I guess. What do you think is gonna happen? Let me know in the comments! Have a great day, afternoon, evening, or night!
"You're a little scary sometimes, you know that? Brilliant, but scary."
