First Draft (leandralynx)
First Draft
Listen, folks, tall and small
To this endless tale
Of a man from far,
Who had nothing but a jar
Filled with...
An earthy smell.
The man knew,
It wasn't worth to sell.
That... thing inside
Should never again see daylight.
"It's pathetic! the man said to himself,
Who put that on my shelf?"
Undeniably, behind those words was curiosity.
One breath. Two.
In his hands, he held a pair of shoes.
Too many holes;
He didn't count.
"Well, at least, no worms around."
Rusty read his first draft aloud.
"Yes, this should please the crowd."
