Attacked Emotions
They all look at me and laugh.
The school gay guy.
The one that no one likes anymore.
I was adored now abused.
My shaggy [H/C] hair falls over my [E/C] orbs that shrunk out of fear and anxiety. Jim, my bully pushes me down to the ground as I let out a weak sound.
"What's wrong, [Y/N]?! Can't take a beating like a man?! You stupid whimp!" He shouts just as the tip of his boot meets the pit of my stomach.
"A-ACK!—" I hack up a surprised, painful gasp and just take the sudden brutal beating.
"Useless!"
"Faggot!"
"Dick Lover!"
"Asshole!"
"You should just fucking die already! No one wants you around!" Jim screams angrily at me as I lay there, coughing and wheezing up blood. My vision begins to fade, but something catches my attention.
My boyfriend was standing off in the corner looking me dead in the eyes. Watching them the whole time. He quickly turns his back on me as I whimper out his name in a painful croak just before Jim kicks me in the face: "R-Ryan...—"
SMACK!
I feel myself on my knees, clutching at my skull as tears wet my cheeks.
what the hell was that? I demand in my mind.
I whine; my eyes darting up to make sure no one saw, but what I saw startled me to the core.
EVERYONE was on their knees as well; endless whines and screaming sobs erupt from their trembling lips, bodies hunched over as their figures tremble.
It's as if everyone was hit by a painful memory.
A sudden ding fills the atmosphere as a robotic female voice starts talking.
"Hello new players. What you just experienced was a past memory from your real life time." She says happily.
I swear I've never wanted to strangle an unbodied robotic voice before in my life! I growl and get slightly get pissed off at how happy she sounds, waiting for an explanation to why this has happened.
"You will get random, past, in real time, memories given to you... To burn them. You will have to truly get over these memories. Why, you ask? Well... You want to get out of this game, don't you?" The robotic voice fake laughs as I stand to my feet wiping away my drying tears.
I definitely want to strangle that voice now.
Wow. Who knew you had to experience flashbacks of the past in order to move on. Might as well kill myself right here.. Wait. I hope others can't see each others memories... Well... I didn't see theirs, so hopefully they didn't see mine.
Thousands of hushed tones arise as everyone seems worried and scared.
I scoff to myself as I look up at the sky.
"These poor souls... Trapped in a game of Virtual Life to only be tortured by haunting memories... To burn them... How is that even possible?! No one can truly move on— can they?" I think out loud as I feel my hands moving around in air gestures.
"Actually, they can." I hear a familiar cheerful tone ear rape my left ear as I jump back startled and nearly punch them in the face.
"Punk! You scared me!" I breathe out deeply then inhale sharply.
"Sorry Anxiety! Haha!" She laughs suddenly, but soft.
"Anyway. People have actually left the game and moved on. But... Others... Can't really handle the memories and end up... You know..." She does a slicing motion across her throat as my eyes widen and I feel my heart tighten in my chest.
"Y-yeah... I-i kno-know what you mean.." I mumble a little ashamed.
She smiles with joy and understanding. "Hey don't feel bad. Not everyone is a fighter. To be honest, this game is just..."
She lowers her voice and leans in. "A trap..." She whispers.
I look at her nervously, remembering those exact words the other guy said. "Mmm..." I silently whine under the bag over my head and sigh, but then look up at her.
"Then... Does that mean you've not overcome your memories?" I ask confused. Her gaze changes to almost a sorrowful one and shakes her head.
"Don't worry about me. I'm here to help you." She smiles a little weirdly this time.
"Here to help me—" A sudden growl erupts from beside my ear.
"You are supposed to be dead."
