Adam Yilmaz POV

I watched as Lena took a step forward with each passing minute, it really sent me on edge, this girl was crazy! But it also was very helpful. She was distracting him.

I tried to look alarmed more than I actually was so I don't give away the fact that I had my phone in hands and I was dialing 911. I hid the phone behind my back and thankfully, the wind picked up, Lena was talking so loudly that they both didn't hear when my call was answered. But I could hear it clearly.

-911 what's your emergency?-

I pulled Lena back to me still hiding the phone "Alright that's enough, he has a gun!" she shoved me off and took another step forward.

-A gun? Sir where are you? Sir...-

"Stay back and don't touch me!" Lena snapped at me

"Lena please he has a gun for God Sake" I pleaded but to no use. She was so damn stubborn!

"Yeah Lena, you should listen to your brother for once... oh he's not your brother he's your boyfriend? But what about Maxwell?"

"I'm not her brother you jerk! Stop insinuating things! What do you want?"

"I'd check my temper Adam, I'm holding a gun after all aren't I?"

-Sir I need your location to send out a team-

"Why did you do it?" Lena asked Damon and I knew what she was talking about.

"Did what princess?"

"Why did you try and rape me?"

"Because I'm not stupid. I knew you were with to piss him off, and I wanted you to forget about him. There was no way you could forget about him if you didn't really give me a chance. I loved you Lena, like I've never loved anyone. He knows how picky I am, he knows I never really liked anyone before you. And then you happened. And I couldn't just allow you to leave me and crawl back to him. Let's be honest here, you were going to leave me weren't you?"

-I'm tracing your location sir- I heard the operator say and relaxed a little

"I wasn't going to leave you you idiot! You were hot, smart, kind, you were everything a girl could have wished for!"

I groaned when I heard her, I knew she was lying but still it hurt to hear her say that about another man.

"That's a lie! You kept denying me every time I asked for it!"

"I wasn't fucking ready Damon! Why couldn't you just be okay with it and give me time to actually give you what was meant for you? But no you couldn't and you had to think with your dick and take it by force! Now how did that go?"

"You two threw me in prison and enjoyed your lavish lives while I was living like a rat!"

"This is all your doing Damon, you could have let me love you, but instead you taught me how to loathe you"

"You never loved me! You were just a slut pretending to be an angel! But I'm no fool, you are a little minx aren't you, now sleeping with him while you already have a boyfriend who was looking for you today like a crazed man!"

-We found your location sir, you're at a lake house- she gave me the exact location –We're sending a team. Hang on sir, distract him, the team is close by-

I ended the call and strode to where Lena was, wrapping a protective arm around her "Watch it Damon!"

"Stop with the empty threats Yilmaz" he barked pointing the gun at me.

"Both of you stop bickering! And you" Lena was starting to seem frustrated more than afraid, she addressed Damon with so much confidence I was wondering where she got all that courage from "What are you talking about?"

"Maxwell was at your apartment banging on the door before you showed up with him, You missed him by minutes, I'm sure the confrontation would have been interesting if he saw you two going into that building hand in hand"

"So now what? You're going to kill us both and go live your life happily?"

"Exactly! I'm going to take away the years you took from me, I couldn't even fucking graduate, and now even if I want to I can't! My own father disowned me, I have nothing"

"Is it money you want? You know..."

"Shove it up your ass!"

"Damon stop being so dramatic! And don't think for one second that I'm afraid to die. I'm not, I've lived a rather beautiful life and now that I know the man I love loves me back, I can die in peace I don't care. But leave him out of this, I'm the one who threw you in jail not him, he wasn't even around, he was in Turkey when it happened!"

I saw the cops coming discretely our way and tightened my grip around Lena, worried she might do something to give them up. But surprisingly she took it well and even hid their presence well.

"I don't care where he was, I'm going to kill you and leave this country for good and start over"

"You can do that in jail" a cop pointed his gun at Damon who panicked and looked at us with greed and hatred, I knew he was going to do something stupid and seconds before he pulled on the trigger I knocked Lena down to the grass putting my whole weight on top of her.

I could feel how hard and how fast her heart was beating, and she seemed worried when she called my name the first time and it gave me a cruel idea of tricking her not realizing how bad she would take it.

"Adam! Adam!" she was now on panic mode, not moving me, not touching me, just shouting my name.

"Adam baby please talk to me... Adammmmmm"

It was when I heard her voice crack as she really thought I was dead that I realized it was an ugly joke. I let out a chuckle and looked down at her "I'm okay baby"

"You son of a...." she hit my chest hard "I fucking hate you Adam! You gave me the scare of my life!"

I smirked and leaned down kissing her lips gently before pulling off of her and helping her to her feet.

We watched as they took Damon and left. An officer came to make sure we didn't need medical help and took our statements.

Just as he left two cars pulled in and Serena came out of the car rushing to us, she hugged her cousin tightly

"Why was the police here? Are you okay?"

Jason, Mason and Johnny D followed right after her they all looked anxious and concerned.

"Adam? What happened? Are you guys okay?" a very distraught Mason asked me while inspecting his sister.

I shrugged "It was Damon, he followed us here and was threatening to kill us"

"Oh my god! My baby, are you okay? Did that bastard hurt you?"

"No Rena I'm fine, I'm fine"

Johnny D ran a hand through his hair messing it. "I'm sorry we're late man, if we got here on time we would have..."

"It's not your fault Johnny, and don't worry I'm glad you didn't make it in time"

Jason shook his head "How did the police find out?"

"Well, this little wildfire here was distracting him and I got to call 911, they have a station not far from here so I think they were on patrol because they made it very fast"

"Oh yes I remember calling the station once when I was here with the boys" Johnny D said and the boys nodded.

"We thought we heard something and called them" Jason explained.

"So he ruined your surprise?" Mason looked apologetic and I smiled

"Don't worry buddy, nothing is ruined" I winked and he got the hint and quickly ran to the backyard. Serena distracted Lena by interrogating her about what we just went through, giving time to Mason to lit the candles.

When Mason joined us, I grinned taking Lena's hand leading her to the backyard with the rest following behind. Before we got there, I hid her eyes my hands and ignored her protests. I had called Mason this morning and sent him a picture of what I wanted done in the backyard. Jason and Johnny D helped him out.

Lanterns and sparkling lights were dangling from every tree in the garden, and under the biggest one there was a rug and lit candles all around it. There was a rustic small table over the rug with empty plates, they had set comfy cushions all around it so we could sit and eat.

To the side there was a beautiful swing tightly tied to a tree branch. I had asked them to wrap its cords with white roses and they didn't disappoint. Not far from the swing, there was a stone fire pit and chairs scattered around it with a guitar on the green grass. The fire was burning high, and I smiled at how beautiful and romantic it looked.

I took off my hands from her eyes and heard her squeal in happiness.

"You did all this for me?" she turned to face us all and we grinned at her

"Happy birthday!" we shouted in unison making her laugh and giving us a group hug.

"Thank you so much! This is the best birthday ever" she stood on her tiptoes and kissed me softly "Thank you" she whispered knowing it was all my scheming.

Mason and Johnny D went to the car to bring the food and cake while Serena sat at the swing and started snapping selfies. Jason kept rolling his eyes at his sister and finally went to sit on a cushion ignoring her.

I took Lena's hand and placed it on my heart "I love you Lena, I would do anything to see that beautiful smile of yours. I would take a bullet for you Lena, my life means nothing without you"

"I love you more than anyone can imagine. To the moon and never back! I'm so happy you came back for me and after everything I put you through when we were younger, you haven't gave up on me"

"I can never do that" I was about to kiss her when Serena pulled her away from me and took her to the swing. "Thanks Serena!" I huffed only resulting in making them laugh.

I shook my head and joined Jason on the cushions, we were soon all sitting on the rug with a beautiful meal on the table. "Thank you guys, I couldn't have done it without your help"

"Girls, come on let's eat I'm starving!" Jason called out "No problem man, that's what friends are for"

"You always are starving Jace" Serena said sitting next to him and Lena came to sit next to me.

"I'm not" they bickered while we ate our dinner.

It was fun seeing them like that. I wasn't a friend of Serena's so I never hang out with her and her brother together. This was nice, it felt like I was surrounded by people who really knew me and really loved me.

Once we finished eating, we went to the fire pit and sat around it just talking and enjoying each other's company. Lena was snuggled to my side with a blanket wrapped around her. She kept stealing kissing and pecks on my neck while I was telling them stories I lived while in Turkey.

"I think we should all go someday, together"

"Of course you'd wanna go Johnny, maybe it has to do with Kayra?" I teased him with a smirk

"Kayra?" Serena asked not following

"My cousin, our boy has a big crush on her"

"Invite her over Adam" Mason said teasing Johnny as well and Jason burst in laughter when Johnny D threw a pebble at Mason.

"Yeah I think I could do that, don't you think Jason?"

"You should totally do that Adam, he hasn't dated anyone since he came back from his last trip to visit you"

"Just shut up guys! That's not fair why don't you all tease Mason about Celine?"

That caught Lena's attention "Oh hell no!"

We all laughed at her reaction and Mason shook his head "Relax, I just said she was hot, I'm not asking her out sis"

"You better not!"

"I'm going to Spain in two days, who wants to come?" Serena said mostly to cut off all the bickering.

"Why are you going to Spain?" Lena asked her suspiciously

"There's a fashion show in Barcelona, Auntie Amelia is going too. You should come Lena, it would do you good"

She wrapped her arms tightly around me like an octopus "I'm good here. I just got him back, maybe next time" she looked up and I captured her lips in mine forgetting about everything and everyone else.
