chapter 55
After they were screened at the general aviation ramp, they drove to the hanger where Raymond's private jet was kept. It was a Gulfstream G150.
Jasmine was excited as she had never flown in a private jet. Raymond looked at her, a warm smile on his face as he took her hand and they climbed into the jet.
Bright came along with his date, Kelly.
She had long brunette hair, warm tan skin, hazel eyes, slim and curvy. Bright had met Kelly at a restaurant and they'd been hanging out for the past three weeks.
As they sat down on their seats, the pilot came and announced that they would be departing in the next five minutes. Two stewardess brought two bottles of champagne and a tray of strawberries, pouring the drink into their glasses.
All four of them clicked their glasses together as they took a sip.
During their four hours flight, they talked and laughed and drank. This was the first time Bright had ever met Jasmine and as he watched Raymond and Jasmine, he couldn't help but smile. They looked lovely together and Bright was amused with the way Raymond was close to Jasmine.
When they arrived at Las Vegas, a car was waiting for them at the airport.
The driver carried their luggage to the car and when they all settled inside, they drove off to the house.
Raymond's parents lived in a big mansion. The moment Jasmine sighted the homongous gate, her heart missed a beat. The gate screeched open and the car drove towards a straight path.
Jasmine's eye's stretched towards the acres of lawn and woods. She haven't seen the house yet but she knew it was going to be big. She blinked, looking around as she took in the scenery.
It wasn't long as she came to view the most breathtaking scenery. The huge building sparkled like jewel under the evening light. She was lost for a moment. For a moment she was free of all her worries and burden. The house was built of white Stone and three stories high. It literally took her breath away.
The family's estate stood within acres of land with a golf course, tennis court and two swimming pools. The house had a jaw dropping 11 bedrooms in the mansion and 17 luxurious bathrooms, wine cellar, a separate guest house, a club house, private theatre, numorous terraces, offices and dinning areas.
The approach to the home was breathtaking, with a winding driveway leading to a circular courtyard with a fountain.
The driver parked the car at the driveway and they all came down.
The servants quickly welcomed them and took their luggage inside.
Jasmine was in awe as she stood before the building. "This is your parents house!"
Raymond laughed softly. "Yep, it is."
"Oh my God!"
Standing there was like a dream come true. Never in her wildest dreams did she ever imagine herself in such a place.
"Come, let's go inside." Raymond smiled, took her hand and they walked towards the front double doors and entered the house, with Bright and Kelly behind them.
Inside, the grand entrance hall had an impressive marble floor work design, double staircases with high ceilings.
"Where's my mum?" Raymond asked one of the servants.
"She's in the living area sir," the female servant said.
"Come this way guys," Raymond said to them. Holding Jasmine's hand, he led them down the hall to a room.
He opened the door and they walked in.
The interiors of the big room was classically decorated with polished floors, gold detailing and deep wood paneling along the walls. The space's neutral colour scheme was paired with luxurious gold accents and mahogany furniture.
A woman was standing next to the grand piano, her back towards them as she was making a phone call.
"Mum." Raymond called.
The woman turned and a wide smile spread on her beautiful face.
The woman had sandy hair with strands of grey hair spotted at the front and she had brown eyes.
She was dressed in a royal blue gown, black heels, silver jewelries and her hair was pulled to a bun.
Even at the age of 58, Raymond's mother was radiating with beauty and energy.
"Raymond! You're here!" She exclaimed excitedly, ended the call and rushed into her son's arms.
Raymond embraced his mother, lifting her off the ground and she let out a laugh. He released his mum receiving a kiss on both cheeks from her.
"It's so good to see you son," She said, smiling widely as she touched his face.
"It's good to see you mum." Raymond smiled.
"Ms Grace." Bright called her.
Raymond's mother turned and beamed when she saw Bright. "Bright!"
She let of Raymond, pulled Bright into her arms and gave him a warm hug.
"You look beautiful as always Ms Grace," Bright said as he pulled away from her embrace and took her right hand and brought it to his lips.
Raymond's mum blushed. "Well thank you. And you look as handsome as always," She rubbed his cheeks, earning a chuckle from Bright.
Raymond rolled his eyes as he laughed.
"Hi." Kelly waved, smiling.
Raymond's mum arched her brows at Bright. "Where is Samantha?" She asked.
"We broke up three months ago. This is Kelly my date," Bright said and pulled Kelly by the waist towards him.
"Oh that's so sad. I really liked that girl. Such a shame," Raymond's mother said with a slight frown on her brows. "Anyways, you're welcome my dear." She smiled at Kelly and gave her a hug.
"Thank you ma'am." Kelly smiled.
Holding her bag, Jasmine waited tensely for Raymond's mum to turn to her. She felt anxious, gripping the handbag tight. Raymond noticed how tensed she was and held her arm softly. He leaned closed to her ear and said softly.
"Hey relax, it's going to be okay." He assured her with a smile.
Jasmine cocked her head, her face close to his as she stared into his eyes.
She gave him a short nod and smiled.
"Raymond." His mother clasped her hands gently, an amused smile on her face as she saw how Raymond was holding Jasmine. "Who is this your beautiful friend?" She questioned, gazing at Jasmine.
"Good evening ma'am." Jasmine greeted with a smile on her face.
"Hello dear."
Taking Jasmine's hand into his, Raymond said. "Mum, I'll like you to meet Jasmine my..."
He was interrupted by a loud squeal as the door opened. Ruth rushed in and ran into Raymond's arms.
"Pumpkin!" Raymond laughed, holding Ruth on the waist as he lifted her off the ground and did a little spin, causing her to giggle in his arms.
Ruth was dressed in a black top, white jeans and black high boots. Her long Sandy hair was curled and hung loosed to her shoulders.
"So you finally decided to grace us with your presence," Ruth said with a snort as she pulled away from him.
"You know me, I always like to make an entrance." Raymond gave her a wink.
Ruth let out a scoff and puched him playfully on the arm. She turned to Bright and gave him a hug and he kissed her on the cheek.
"My little bride." Bright touched her chin
Ruth let out a laugh, pushing Bright's hand away. "Stop calling me little."
"You're home early Ruth. Where're the girls?" His mum asked.
"They're still at the spa. I decided to come back home early to make sure that your son has a date to my wedding," Ruth said and poked Raymond on the chest.
Ruth had gone to the spa at the Bellagio hotel with her bride's maids. They were all staying at the big mansion for the wedding.
Raymond shook his head slowly. "So that's the reason why you're here."
"Duh! No date then you're not coming to my wedding," Ruth said, folding her arms.
Raymond let out a wry laugh. "You can't do that to me pumpkin."
Ruth knit her brows to a frown and gave Raymond a punch on the chest.
"Mum tell him to stop calling me that."
Raymond chuckled and grabbed her hand when she tried to hit him again.
His mother sighed and rolled her eyes, getting bored with their constant fight. "Raymond stop calling your sister pumpkin."
Raymond scoffed. "Never gonna happen."
"You're so annoying." Ruth grumbled and pulled her hand away from Raymond's hold. Her eyes landed on Jasmine and she gave Jasmine a long glance.
"Who is she?" Ruth asked Raymond, pointing at Jasmine.
Raymond grinned and pulled Jasmine by the waist close to him. "She's Jasmine, my girlfriend."
Jasmine's eyes shot wide as she heard those words, her breath caught in her throat.
"Girlfriend!" His mum and sister squealed in surprise
Bright raised a brow at Raymond, a shocked look on his face.
No one saw this coming.
"Oh my God! It's so nice to meet you." Ruth exclaimed happily and pulled Jasmine into a tight embrace.
Jasmine was numb and speechless as she kept replaying the words Raymond had said in her head.
"Finally! I thought you would never get yourself one, asshole,"
Ruth said to Raymond as she let go of Jasmine.
"Come here my darling." His mothers' eyes shone with excitement and she gave Jasmine a hug.
"I'm so happy to meet you."
His mum said, holding Jasmine's hands. "Raymond told me it was going to be a surprise as he didn't want to tell me who he was coming with. Indeed it is a surprise."
Jasmine nodded, a smile on her face.
"I'm surprised too and it is such a pleasure to finally meet the family of my man," Jasmine said with a chuckle, turned and gave Raymond a glare, letting him know that she wasn't pleased with the situation.
Raymond took Jasmine's hand away from his mum. "Well if you'll excuse us mum, we would like to go and freshen up."
"Oh yes, of course. You kids should go freshen up and relax. I'll go check on the chef to see how dinner is going,"
His mum said and touched Jasmine's cheeks softly, a pleased smile on her face. "I'm so happy you are here. I'll see you at dinner."
Jasmine said nothing but smiled.
"By the way mum, where's dad and Michael?" Raymond asked his mum
"We all went to the Minister's house for lunch so I had to come back home to make sure everything was prepared for your arrival," she replied.
"Alright then." Raymond nodded, took Jasmine's hand and they walked out to his bedroom. A servant led Bright and Kelly to their room.
Raymond's mum and sister clasped hands as they giggled like teenage girls, whispering with excitement of how glad they were to see Jasmine.

As they entered his bedroom, Raymond closed the door behind them.
His bedroom was huge. The king sized bed was dressed with grayish blue and black duvet cover. It had a living area and walk in closet. The floors were polished and the silk curtains gave the room a luxurious look.
His bedroom's balcony looked out over the ground-floor seating area, which has floor- to- ceiling windows with views over the garden.
Jasmine threw her handbag on the bed and turned to Raymond with a frown on her face as she folded her arms.
"What's wrong?" Raymond asked as he noticed the look on her face.
"You're asking me what's wrong?"
Jasmine asked in disbelief. "Why the fuck would you introduce me to your family as your girlfriend?"
"It just slipped from my lips." He shrugged his shoulders, acting cool.
It wasn't a mistake when he introduced Jasmine to his mum and sister as his girlfriend. When Ruth had told him why she came back early, he was offended. And so he had to lie that he was dating Jasmine to slap Ruth back in the face.
With his little lie, his family would stop nagging and bothering him to get a woman.
"Can you just hear yourself. How did that word slip out, huh? You just lied to your mum Raymond. What if she finds out the truth, do you realize how hurt she would be?" Jasmine sighed, placing a palm on her forehead.
She didn't like this. She felt uneasy and angry inside.
"Hey relax," Raymond said softly and held her on the shoulders gently.
"It's nothing. There is no reason to over react."
She shot him an angry glare, pushing his hands off her. "No need to over react? Do you have any single idea how your mum would feel if she finds out that you lied. Didn't you just see the joy and excitement in her eyes? If she finds out that you lied, she's gonna be crushed." She turned away from him, fumbling with the hem of her shirt.
Raymond exhaled deeply and turned her face to him. "Hey, I'm sorry okay. I'm sorry that I lied. I shouldn't have done that, I'm sorry." He begged, cupping her face into his palms.
She didn't push him off this time. She folded her arms, a frown still on her face.
"We just have to act along and pretend like we are dating. No one will find out, okay. I just want you to have a good time here so don't worry about my mum. It's gonna be alright. " He assured her, rubbing her cheeks softly.
She sighed, arching her brows and thought about it. After a few seconds of silence, she threw her hands up in defeat. "Fine. We'll go ahead with your stupid plan."
He laughed lightly and placed a quick kiss on her cheeks. "Thank you."
A smile played on her lips, nibbling the inside of her lips, she held herself back from blushing hard.
He had a silly smile on his face. "So babe.."he teased and nudged her lightly on the nose.
She flushed and let out a laugh, pushing him away. "Don't you fucking call me that."
He laughed enjoying the look on her face. She turned away from him, her cheeks red as she picked up her luggage and placed it on the bed and began to unpack.
Awwww(。♡‿♡。) ,
Look how cute they are...
How I wish they were actually dating.hahaha.
