chapter 46

Jasmine got to her door step and knocked on the door lightly, hoping that someone would be at home.
She took nothing with her when she ran out of the house last night.
No one was usually home at this hour and she let out a frustrated groan, knowing she would have to wait outside for a long time until someone comes home.

"I'm coming." She heard Christain say and a sigh of relief escaped from her lips.

The door opened and Christain stood at the door, all dressed up with his backpack on his shoulders. Dark circles could be seen under his eyes and his curly hair was all messed up.

"Jasmine!" He exclaimed happily as he saw her. He took off his backpack quickly and dropped it on the floor, pulling her in and embraced her in a tight hug.

She chuckled, wrapping her arms on his waist, hugging him tight.

He buried his face in her hair and sobbed quietly.

"Oh Christain." She let out a breath and rubbed his back softly, she stood on tip toes and rested her chin on his shoulder.

"Don't you ever run off like that again." He muffled into her hair, sniffing hard.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry."
She felt really bad for Christain as she knew how stressed up and devasted he must had been last night.
She couldn't believe that she didn't even try to call Christian's line with Raymond's phone when she woke up.

'How stupid of me!'

She cussed in her mind.
How could she had forgotten to call Christain! She felt like the worst big sister ever.

He lifted his head, letting go of her and looked at her with tired eyes. He held her hands and let out a long sigh.
"Promise you won't run off again." He insisted in a sad tone.

She gave him her biggest smile and gave his hands a gentle squeeze. "I promise."

"Good," he said, letting go of her hands and gave her a punch on the left shoulder.

"Ouch!" She was shocked as she wasn't expecting that from him. "What was that for?" she asked, rubbing her shoulder where he had punched her.

"That's for running off and leaving me worried and scared," he said in an angry tone.

Christain couldn't sleep last night as he kept on thinking about where Jasmine could have been. He felt restless, uneasy and scared as there was no way he could get hold of her since she left her phone behind. If only she had a friend around, he knew that's where she would had been last night.

He'd stayed alone in the night as Christine had left the house few minutes after Jasmine had gone. He was only able to get three hours sleep as he felt so tired and weak. Even as he slept, his mind was wrapped with worry and uncertainty.

He gave her another blow on the same shoulder. "And that's for not giving me a call."

She winced out and asked in an annoyed tone. "What the fuck! Why would you punch me two times?"

"You should be grateful it's just two. I had planned on beating you up the moment you walk into this house," he said, brushing her off and closed the door.

"Oh really!" She raised her brows as she turned to him. "Well, I would love to see you try," she said, her voice laced with mockery as she opened her arms wide towards him.

He let out a weak laugh and shook his head. "I don't have strength right now. Besides we both know you're gonna beat the shit out of me."

She laughed and reached out a hand and tousled his hair. "You bet I will."

"Stop that." He groaned, pushing her hand off him with a frown on his face as she continued laughing.

"But seriously you could have called. And where did you even run off to?" he asked, folding his arms.

She sighed."I'm sorry I didn't call, it kinda skipped my mind," she said with a shrug.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" he arched his brows, annoyed with her answer. "How could you not have remembered? What were you even doing?"

She scratched the back of her neck and smacked her lips lightly. "I was busy!"

"You were busy?" He let out a scoff as he raked a hand in his hair. "That's your excuse, really? Where did you run off to last night? And don't you lie to me." He warned, giving her an index finger.

"Geez!" She chuckled, walking over to the couch and sat down. "You sound like you're my father. So this must be how Christine feels when I question her," she said with a sigh.

He turned to her."Don't try to change the topic here. Where were you?" he asked again with a serious look on his face.

She let out a laugh."Oh please, stop with this dad attitude and come seat down." She gave the couch a light pat.

He rubbed his forehead gently and let out a sigh, walking over to her and sat down beside her.

"C'mon, tell me something." He persuaded, giving her shoulder a nudge.

She scratched the back of her neck lightly as she thought of lying to him. It felt embarrassing telling Christain that she slept in Raymond's house. She wouldn't want him to think that something was going on between her and Raymond.
She turned to Christain and watched him waiting patiently for an answer.

She let out a long sigh and clicked her tongue lightly.  "I was with Raymond,"
she told him. There was no use lying to Christain since nothing was actually going on between her and Raymond.

Christain was surprised by what Jasmine said. "Who?" His eyes shot wide, expression turned to shock.

She palmed her forehead lightly and shook her head, exhaling through her mouth. "My boss, you douchebag."

"I know your boss name is Raymond, I just thought you meant another Raymond that you're not working for."

She laughed."You're crazy."

"Hold on a minute. You mean, you spent the whole night with your BOSS!" he said in a loud tone.

"Christain!" She slapped him on the thigh. "Did you have to shout that?"

"Well, yeah," he said, rubbing his thigh. "You fucking slept with your boss. Are you for real?" he questioned in disbelief.

"I didn't sleep with anyone, stop being ridiculous," she said through gritted teeth, her cheeks turning crimson red. She hit him again, trying not to remember Raymond's words about taking off her clothes and giving her a bath.

"Ouch!" He shifted away from her, laughing. "Then why are you blushing." He teased.

She let out a loud groan and glared at him with angry eyes."I'm gonna hit you hard if you don't shut the fuck up."

"Mhmm someone is feisty." He wriggled his brows and poked her on the nose.

She sat there, throwing dagger stares at him.

He chuckled. "C'mon tell me what..." He stopped as he felt his phone vibrating in his jeans pocket. He brought out his phone and checked the callers ID and he's eyes shot wide.
"Oh shit!" He exclaimed, getting up quickly.

"What's wrong?" she asked him.

"It's my boss, i gotta go now." He said as he rushed and picked up his backpack and then turned to her.
"Hey, when I get back, we're gonna finish up this conversation and don't you dare leave anything behind. See you later," he said, opened the door and rushed out of the house without shutting the door.

"Asshole." She muttered, a smile playing on her lips. she got up and closed the door.

She went to her room and stood by the door way, glancing around the room. Memories of her fight with Christine came back to her and a heavy sigh left her lips.

She walked inside and saw her phone and bag on the bed. They were still lying in the same position she had left them last night. She picked up her phone as she sat down, going through it as she saw no missed calls or texts.

She tossed her phone on the bed and wiped her face with her palm.
She felt angry as she looked at Christine's portrait on the desk. She needed to leave the room and let out some steam or she might loose her mind. She checked the time on the wall clock and it was 10:28am.

She decided to go for her morning karate classes. She had enrolled in a karate school not too far from her neighbourhood but only went there during the weekends, whenever she was free. She was the only one that learnt karate since she was a child and had won many karate tournament. Though, she stopped going after the fire accident that killed her parents and little kalisha, but then she continued when she moved to Gainesville.

She grabbed her small duffel bag from the closet and put her karate uniform inside. She held the bag in her hand as she grabbed her keys and phone and left the house.

Don't you just love the relationship Jasmine has with Christain?....
Well I do(◕ᴗ◕✿).
