"The Kingdom of Torrs, bordered by watchtowers on each of its four corners, had always been a peaceful and prosperous kingdom. This was largely attributed to the leadership of King Excal Blade and his wife, Queen Cortana Blade. The Blades have been generally known to be peacekeepers and benevolent dating back to the days of old and from their clan has begotten the rulers of Torrs. Currently, Prince Patriarch Blade, young as he may be, was already getting accustomed to the state visits and some basic sword training, all under the guidance and vigilance of the family's trusted Adviser, Sayfuro Wuyong, a refugee adopted by King Excal after a revolt caused by rebel Jappon sympathizers left Sayfuro orphaned.

While it was peaceful within the borders and towers of Torrs, the sirens of war had caused a stirring between Rival kingdoms Aura, Branshaldo and Jappon. Torrs had been left as neutral as King Excal deemed it unnecessary to bring the country to a war it needed not participate in. This sentiment had been shared by all but Count Baron Corrvinn, a leading figure in the court who sought that war be done in order to maintain the peace by use of force to conquer Aura, Branshaldo and Jappon. Per the advise of the King's men, Corrvin's suggestion had fallen on deaf ears and the policy of non-intervention will still be followed, with compromise of strengthening border patrol.

Corrvin saw this as an act of cowardice and had known that since most of the army had been posted as part of the imperial Torrs border control, this would be the perfect strike to plan a bloody overthrow of the regime under the cover of night and the burning embers of fiery rage.

It had all come to a head when Baron Corrvin along with his brother Drake and some of their loyal soldiers to strike within the castle walls and slay anyone who dare resist. An envoy had suddenly entered the royal chambers of the Royal Family, clutching to his side as he was losing blood had only this to announce to the King,

Envoy:  Sire, Master Corrvin has betrayed us! He will come for your family next....

Upon uttering that, the envoy had breathed his last. King Excal had feared for the worst and informed his wife that they be the ones to defend their bloodline until their son Patriarch comes of age to retake this empire from the usurpers. King Excal had given Sayfuro these specific orders, escape the castle and hide out somewhere for the meantime until the right time comes. 

Apart from this order, Sayfuro was entrusted the Blade family heirloom, the Legacy Sword, and to keep hold of this until Patriarch comes of age. An additional order had been given to Sayfuro that above all, keep Patriarch alive as both King and Queen know not if they will see the day he rules the Kingdom and to place in 2 sets of letters inside the Legacy Sword's handle.

Patriarch awoke to the commotion and seeing his parents armed with their personal weapons. It was not a good sight for a child of 6 years to see this, and upon seeing both his parents, he wept. Both King and Queen had let their guard down for a bit to console their child. King Excal had wanted to take the initiative and only said this to young Patriarch,

King Excal: Patriarch, I know our lives will change after what may happen tonight. Know that whatever happens, you are a Blade. No matter how you're formed, you will carve a way and gleam bright towards a future that we all seek and will work towards. Your mother and I will always be with you, no matter what.

He then proceeds to take his necklace off and place it on his son, 

King Excal:  Wear this always.

King Excal then goes on fighting stance readying for the usurpers. Queen Cortana then consoled and comforted her son with these words

Queen Cortana: Know that we may possibly never be together alive, I want you to know how much we love you. I know you are meant for greater things and will exceed us in your own way. Grow and never look away from the struggles of others and your own.

With those last words, she kissed her son's forehead and like her husband, braced for the oncoming last stand. Patriarch did not want to leave but by his volition, Sayfuro grabbed some sleeping herbs and placed his hand with the herbs near Patriarch's nose to knock him unconscious to guarantee both their safety and that the final orders be carried out. Sayfuro then with his assassin like speed with child and sword in tow had escaped Torrs castle braving for the worst but fulfilling his orders to the Royal Family.

This is what followed....

Corrvin's contingent had already laid waste to the royal guard and are already approaching the Throne room. There both King and Queen have prepared to end this insurgency but unfortunately, the numbers and odds are terribly in the favor of the insurgents. Queen Cortana unfortunately was felled when in the midst of felling the insurgent soldiers, she was stabbed from behind in the heart by Drake Corrvin. 

Upon seeing the sight, King Excal would fight until he was then overwhelmed and upon the point of exhaustion, Baron Corrvin had only this to say once King Excal was bound by two insurgent soldiers, 

Baron:  I have broken the Blades of cowardice and by your death, I shall lead us into a regime of powerful gains! Death to you and your clan!

Upon the final words, Baron would lob off King Excal's head off his shoulders.

Baron would then order the bodies of the royal family to be buried en masse so as not to leave trace of any of the events. He would then send out envoys to all towns near the castle and the 4 towers to declare that the Corrvin empire has begun and the Blades have begone from this mortal world. Along with that declaration, Corrvin would throw the Kingdom of Torrs into war to fulfill his ambition of a united Torrs....."
