WE BOUGHT A HOUSE. those were the words that taehyung didn't think he'd ever get to imagine, let alone say out loud to all his friends while hugging onto his boyfriends waist. its been a week since the house tour, and they didn't finalize everything until a few days ago.
"i got a call from our realtor today and she finalized the papers." jungkook said. he had been smiling a lot more recently, everyone noticed it, and everyone liked seeing it too.
jimin was the first to stand and give them both a hug, "i'm so happy for you guys." he said.
"so are we celebrating?" hoseok asked, "drinks on me?" he was already walking backwards slowly to the coolers under the monitors, he was very aware where the little genius blondie kept his stash. jimin glared at his friend, basically telling him 'i dare you' with just a single look.
"actually, we're going to dinner tonight." jungkook told the group of friends.
"but," taehyung said, "you all are coming over on move in day to have dinner. jin, i expect you to slay the grill." he pointed at the dark haired male, who was very much okay with being summoned and his wonderful cooking skills being called out. "i will not let you down." he said, also giving him a hug and congratulating the two of them.
"well i have to go start getting ready." taehyung said. he was still holding jungkooks hand and even gave it a squeeze to get his attention.
he just chuckled, "right, i forgot it takes you ten hours just to pick a shirt." jungkook said.
taehyung smacked his shoulder and glared at the younger, "youre the one who picked reservations at a fancy restaurant."
the couple started to walk towards the warehouse doors, they're bickering the only thing echoing in the large space. "they have good breadsticks." jungkook defended himself. "and this one waitress—"
he was smacked again.
"they're going to be so happy together." jimin cooed, watching the boys leave without a goodbye but none of them even minded. "they already are." namjoon pointed out.
if that wasn't so true. it didn't matter what they were doing, even arguing, because those two boys were so invested in the other that nothing could every wedge itself between them. they were destined to be together.
it was easy to see this. what wasn't easy was listening to taehyung trying to find an outfit. the next few hours were a bunch of beings and tossing of silk fabrics that were either not the right shade or simply made his shoulders look weird.
"your shoulders look fine." jungkook said. he was laying on his bed and scrolling randomly through his phone or just staring at the ceiling. "you're not even looking." taehyung gasped, glaring from around one of the closet doors and going back to search for another outfit.
"i don't need to." the younger started to say, "i love your shoulders, it's the one thing that i found attractive about you when we met. did you really think it was your personality? that shit is lame, it's all about the shoulder blades."
four steps. that's all it took and taehyung was tackling his boyfriend on the bed. "i hate you!" taehyung yelled, it was playful and followed by giggles since he should have known he wasn't strong enough to beat the younger at wrestling. jungkook was on top in a second, and he was smiling down at the boy, "you hate me? that's why we're moving in together?"
"we bought a house." taehyung giggled.
"yes we did." jungkooks smile seemed to widen, and he kissed the tip of the olders nose, "we bought a house." he repeated and to his contentment it made taehyung giggle again.
jungkook finally was able to pull away from the boys death grip. hugging him was like trying to get away from a bear. "come on we have to go or we'll be late." he tried to tug him off the bed but taehyung was stubborn as ever. "just pick a shirt and throw on some lip gloss and let's go."
"one does not simply throw on lipgloss." taehyung said, "it's art."
"yeah yeah just be quick." the ravenette waved his hand to get the boy to move, then dipping from the bedroom to go find some shoes he had remembered leaving by the door. jungkook had settled on wearing a simple pair of dress pants and white button down shirt. it was a nice restaurant but not too fancy.
eventually he was joined at the door by his boyfriend, taehyung finally finding a nice silk shirt that was light pink and had nice embroidery around the cuffs and collar. there was a pear necklace around his neck and matching earrings, the pink on his eyelids was also light and sparkled a little. taehyung never had to overdo it, he looked stunning regardless.
"it's italian right?" the brunette asked, blindly walking to the stairwell with his focus on a button that wouldn't go through its proper slit in the fabric. jungkook was gently guiding the boy, knowing very well he'd probably trip on the carpet if he didn't.
"mhm." jungkook said, opening the door and they were on their way to lobby of his apartment building. it was one of the few nights left until they moved out, and the ravenette waved to the lady at the desk, oddly wondering if he'd end up missing seeing her every time he angrily stomped his way home or stumbled in drunk or even brining taehyung here for the first few times.
"we're walking?" taehyung asked. he felt the younger rough palm against his as their fingers intertwined, finding himself being pulled away from the building and down the sidewalk instead of towards the parked car. "we're early, and i like walking with you." jungkook said.
"you said we were running late." taehyung narrowed his eyes at the boy, but he was far from being genuinely bothered.
"yeah," the ravenette just smiled and tugged his boyfriend closer by the hand, leaning over to kiss his cheek quickly.
they were at the restaurant in nearly fifteen minutes. it wasn't as long of a wait as expected, thankfully for the reservation and no need to wait on a valet to park their car. "jeon." jungkook had said once they reached the doors, being whisked away second later to their single table and white tablecloth set out with wine already waiting.
"i haven't been here in a while, they changed the flowers." taehyung pointed out, looking at the dark roses that decorated the banisters and windowsills of the dimly lit italian restaurant. it was fancy, and seemed more private then a typical family restaurant would be. there were artificial vines on the walls as well shelves of their wines to try.
"when was the last time you were here?" jungkook had asked, he was looking over the menu despite already knowing what he wanted to order.
"my last boyfriend."
"lets go somewhere else this place is shit." jungkook almost stood but his boyfriend kicked him lightly under the table.
"sit down i was kidding." he giggled, "besides i thought they had good breadsticks here."
as if on cue the waiter came around, dropping a basket by for them as well as a tossed salad for them to pick out before ordering. there wasn't much proper eating going on after that, because taehyung continued to tease the younger, and jungkook would respond with a playful curse word or throwing a piece of bread at him from across the table.
the sipped their wine, and they tasted it on each other's tongues between bites of bread and fond smiles. it's been a while since they went on a proper date, and now they had the rest of their lives to look forward to more.
