THE SECONDS TICKED by so slowly, each little tap of sound from his watch a constant reminder that things could end so quickly and they'd all be left to admit they failed again. they couldn't fail this time, not after what happened the night before and not when so much was riding on his shoulders to not let his friend down.

that's all namjoon could think about. jungkook. he's never, in all the years he's known him, ever be so affected by nearly losing someone so close to him. it was one of the hardest things to see, the way jungkook nearly broke. it was kind of a reminder that the ravenette was still a kid, barely over twenty five and having been through more then someone his age should have to deal with.

now he had to make sure he didn't screw up. he's never done anything without jungkook, and it felt wrong.

"hey, i can hear you thinking too much." jimin had said through the phone. he was on speaker, and his light voice filled the car. "sorry." namjoon said, "i just hope this works."

"of course it will." jimin said, "it's jungkooks plan, they always work." he winced a little at the end, maybe faking such confidence was a bad idea. the older boy recognized this too, but he didn't point it out.

his car was parked a few blocks down and around the corner, only peeking out enough to see the gate entrance to the facility and the transportation vans waiting outside by the basketball courts. so far there didn't seem to be an issue, no one questioned the second van and yoongi was able to drive in with his badge. he's not sure what was going on inside the van as it waited, wondering how the team was holding up after having to sit with sunwoo there.

he had gotten out and told them he had to monitor the security from another location, some lame excuse about being a second eye for jimin since one of the traffic cameras wasn't working. it was all a lie, just a reason for sunwoo not to question his absence. that man was so paranoid they'd double cross him. for good reason too.

yoongi had been barely able to put up with the man for five minutes, constantly checking his watch and tapping against the wheel. "do you see her yet?" sunwoo asked from the back, leaning forward to look towards the windows by the baseball stairwell. that's where jungkook told her to go, using the air vents outside her cell to make it there unseen.

"dude no." yoongi said for the hundredth time. his patience was running out very quickly.

"what even are these for?" sunwoo asked another question, seeing the black outfits and vests laying on the floor of the van. they were security detail outfits, ones that matched the prison guards here and simply for backup in case they needed a way to get out and blend in. "uh, extras." hoseok said, even he was tired of this man already.

sunwoo just hummed, but the silence didn't last long as he gasped and pointed towards the drivers window, nearly leaning over yoongi. "there she is!" he exclaimed, directing the two boys attention to the side of the prison buildings where in fact, a small lady with messy black hair was crawling out the window low to the ground.

"she's knows it's the second van right?" hoseok said, watching as well as she picked herself up and looked around. the smile on her face couldn't be missed, and she ran the few yards to the van and smacked the side impatiently waiting for it to open.

once it did, she jumped in and straight into sunwoos arms, a reuniting moment that the two boys in the front seats could care less about.

now they would have to leave quickly, it wouldn't take long for someone to realize a prisoner was missing and sound the alarms for a count to be made and guards sent to find her. "alright, seatbelts." yoongi said, checking his watch once more and then looking up, only to see another problem, "shit."

"what, what's wrong?" sunwoo asked, looking up as well and seeing where they were looking.

there were more guards by the gate exit, different from the entrance only in the sense that the vans leaving were being checked. "you guys didn't plan for the inspection?" seohyuns eyes were wide, "you guys are idiots."

"that wasn't our job." hoseok said, "you're on your own now." he shrugged and started to grab the two extra security outfits for himself and his friend. they started to unstrap the vests and figure out how to change in the small confinement of the front seat, not even bothering to talk to the couple in the backseat watching them with bewildered expressions. "hold up," sunwoo said, "where are ours?"

"there's only two." yoongi said it like it was obvious. only him and hobi would be the ones to walk out in the security outfits and blend in.

"yeah so hand them over." seohyun said, whatever grateful nature she should have towards them for breaking her out was nonexistent, and hoseok rose an eyebrow at that. "excuse me little girl-" he tried to say, but was silenced when the glock came out and was pointed at his head.

"she said hand them over." sunwoo held the gun up towards the two boys in the front, an arrogant grin on his face, "don't think i'm dumb enough to trust you guys." he said.

yoongi and hoseok looked at each other, and there was no question that either of them wanted to be dumb and try to get their way out of this. so they pulled off the vests and tossed them in the back seat, scowls on their faces as the couple got changed and fumbled to fix themselves to look presentable.

"fuck you guys." hoseok couldn't help but say, watching as sunwoo just tucked the gun in the waistband of his pants and continue to grin. "we'll be long gone living on some island with a name we can't pronounce, and you guys will land yourselves in a cell of your own." he said.

it was the last thing said before the couple pushed open the van door, their outfits situated and strapped in. yoongi and hoseok just sat in the van, wondering how long it would take for anyone to realize there was two transportation vans when only one was ordered for.

"good thing the prisons gonna need an electrician team in about.." yoongi trailed off his words, looking down at his watch, "twenty seconds."

with perfect precision, jimin spun around in his chair in the lab and smiled as he listened to the fire alarm go off in the prison, all because he hit a few keys and happily triggered the pretty sound and flashing lights.

seohyun and sunwoo didn't make it that far towards the entrance of the gate before the sound startled them, jumping in their places and only calming once they realized it was just the fire alarm. they continue to walk towards the gate, in an attempt to act casual and nod towards the other guards. if only they didn't believe they were smarter, if only they didn't underestimate jungkooks team — maybe they wouldn't have thought they could just walk out. maybe they wouldn't have been stopped by a swift hand from another guard and narrowed eyes that knew too well.

a phone tip was also helpful, and namjoon hung up minutes before once he saw the two leave the van in the guard outfits as he had hoped, as jungkook had predicted.

it wasn't long before the two other boys got out of the van too, their previous outfits stripped and leaving them in navy blue jumpsuits with the name of some fake maintenance company scribbled on the back. yoongi walked to the side of the van looked up at the writing, wondering how anyone missed the company's name on the side. it was good that jin had a talent for spray painting, and if you looked closely you could still see the remains of the catering service on the side of the van from the siwol heist.

yoongi and hoseok each grabbed a tool box from the back of the van and kicked the door shut, walking towards the prisons building to fix the fire alarm.

"you guys have good timing. that's the third time the alarm just goes off on its own." the man at the front checked their badges and let the two boys in.

"strange." yoongi said, and he had to kick his friend who couldn't hold back a quiet giggle. it may have been because jimin was having a fun time today setting the alarm off periodically, or it could have been the way yoongi looked in a jumpsuit that made him seem even tinier — or the way sunwoo and seohyun were being brought back to the real prison van and loaded in the back with a help of a phone tip saying the renowned man would be helping his fiancé escape after suspicions of the siwol scam.

whatever it was, hoseoks giggle made a small smile show on the older boys face, and it stayed there as someone led the two to the electrician box in the back. once they were alone, yoongi turned on the mic to his earwig, "alright jimin, turn it off." he said to the boy.

the blonde did as he was told, no longer messing with the systems and no longer wondering if they could pull this off. because they did, and soon everyone would be home and seohyun and sunwoo would be where they belong and away from them all. everything was good again, and everything would stay that way.
