IT WAS A GOOD THING that taehyung remembered the code to get into the warehouse, the only thing that kept him from pressing the small numbers and quicker was the shake that seemed to posses his hands.

"come on." he huffed in frustration, starting to push on the large metal door to slide it open with a chorus of irritating pops and the scrape of metal against concrete ground. it would have been so much easier for someone to have been here already to open the doors for him. "jungkook!" he shouted, only hearing the echo of his own voice and the silence that followed. he wasn't here.

taehyung sighed and jumped as the metal door slammed shut behind him, leaving him in a mostly dark room that's already started to collect dust after these past few months. he knew his way around here now, it's only been a week or so that jungkook finally made his way back to his own apartment instead of staying here or at jimins. all that time has let the pretty rich boy become well accustomed to the place.

no voice, only footsteps heard as he walked further into the warehouse and pulled off his jacket. "i'll give him a call." taehyung was speaking to himself, a small habit when he was alone.

it rang for a few moments, no answer. taehyung sighed and set his phone down on one of the tables. he was sitting out by one of the windows, there wasn't a view — unless someone counted the brick wall of the other building as a view.

only an hour later did taehyungs phone ring, and jungkooks grinning face flashed across the screen with so many hearts surrounding the boys name.

"oh my gosh jungkook." taehyung seemed to speak a mile a minute. now standing up from the chair, he was still looking at that damn brick wall.

jungkook had been further away from the city, digging through an old storage shed full of cardboard boxes that should have been in his own apartment. he didn't hear his phone go off until he was back in the car. "woah, baby calm down." his chuckle sounded deeper through the phone.

"did you forget that you own a phone." it wouldn't be a normal day without a little sass coming from the older boy. jungkook knew this, and the corners of his lips turned up into a slight smirk at the sound.

"no," the ravenette said, now in his car and waiting patiently to watch the traffic light to turn green. "where are you, i'll come pick you up." he said.

"i'm at the warehouse." he told the boy, "i need to talk to you." he knew better to say anything compromising over the phone. between intense makeout session there was an occasional lesson about what to do when dating a master criminal and issues came about.

jungkook just hummed, calm and cool exterior as always but those words would always be worrisome, and he couldn't help the way his heartbeat increased in pace. "i'll be there in fifteen minutes." he said.

and they hung up. and that should have been it, but jungkook was still starting to panic a little more then he usually would. everything changed after he met taehyung — and sometimes, he hated what it did to him.

it was things like this, when taehyung would want to talk to him or he'd just not talk to him for just a day, and it would leave jungkook in a mess of subtle panic. no one would ever know, because he sat there with the same steely exterior and dark eyes that didn't betray what he was feeling inside. but jungkook was always scared. he was scared over what the pretty brunette would say to him, if history would repeat itself. if taehyung would get bored, if he'd no longer want this. jungkook hated feeling this way. things always seemed easier to deal with when you were alone, with no one else having power over your emotions.

gosh, taehyung was so powerful. he had the ravenette wrapped around his finger and there was no chance things were going to change any time soon. not even when jungkook had these questioning thoughts, not when he was sitting alone at night and wondering if anyone would really notice if he took off in the night — and especially not when his phone rang again, and taehyungs name came up on the screen.

jungkook was smiling to himself in his car, stuck at another red light where most people would be frustrated and ready to rear end the person in front of them. he smiled, and he felt his heart skip a beat.

"hey, baby—" but jungkook was cut off, and his smile wiped away when he heard the tone of his boyfriends voice.

"jungkook, you need to pick up some pesticides, the roaches are back."

it was one of the many codes they all knew, some of the many things you never wanted to actually use. when the time comes, it seems almost difficult to remember which one meant what scenario, but this was taehyung, and jungkook didn't care what it was or even know if he used the right code. any code meant help, and he would be there in a second to have his back and protect him from whatever it was.

whatever it was, they had a lot of nerve to try and mess with his boy.

so he floored it, and a fifteen minute drive became a five minute one.

the warehouse was dark, they usually didn't turn any lights on until dusk came the moon wasn't bright enough. jungkook wasn't about to go through the front, he still didn't know what was going on, but someone was here and he wasn't about to let them know that he arrived just yet.

there was a back exit only he knew of, and there wasn't a fancy code or lock, nothing but his own knowledge that someone would need to find it. his black attire now had dust on it, and usually he'd care, but right now jungkook was trying not to let the anger flowing through his veins to turn him into straight hulk mode.

he could hear them, voices that shouldn't be here, voices that should even have known how to get in. there was no way taehyung let them in anyways.

"where is he?" the person had asked.

by now jungkook came into view, seeing taehyung sitting on the couch where he usually liked to be. it wasn't by a wall or anything really, king of just in the middle of the big space and he thought that was cool. before taehyung could even answer, jungkooks footsteps made himself apparent to the men that showed up. "who are you looking for exactly?" he asked with a raised eyebrow, a hand sitting protectively on taehyungs shoulder as he stood behind the couch.

only now did he recognize the man, standing there in his usual fancy suit with maybe five men behind him. it was a facade, and jungkook couldn't help the little amused grin on his face. they really didn't know what they were dealing with right now.

"you, mr. jeon." sunwoo had said, "and i'd wipe that smirk off your face before one of my men do it for you."

that only stirred him on more, now having jungkook chuckle, "your first mistake was showing up to an environment you don't know well enough, and now you're threatening me?" taehyung had been silent this whole time, but he still leaned into the boys touch, wanting anything else to happen so this would be over. jungkook was suppose to show up and they were gonna go to lunch or just take a walk, none of this was suppose to happen.

"you thinks that's a threat?" sunwoo was the one that seemed amused now. "how do you even think we got in." he said.

as much as taehyung wanted this to be over, and as tightly as he crossed his fingers, life seemed to prove that things only got worse before they got better. because sunwoo was right, what happened next was an actual threat.
