Background: son of Jack and Janet Drake, proclaimed dead until found by Batman in the Drake Manor's basement. Adopted by Bruce Wayne aka Batman but did not join their vigilante life.

Hobbies: Mixing chemicals to create new poisons and antidotes, hiding away in his holes, looking after his pet rats, hacking, researching, avoiding sleep in fear that he would get stabbed to death, and sitting alone on rooftops.

Personality: Tim from this story is very different from how I usually write him because his origin is different and has had a major impact on his personality.

The prominent personality facts about him are as follows:

• He is not suicidal and in fact he hates death. He does everything to avoid dying and has very high survival instincts.

• Does not trust anyone. And gives no reason to others to trust him either.

• Malnourished and physically very weak as he had been staying in his house's basement, hidden from his parents who he had found out wanted to kill him for the insurance money.

• Helpless caffeine addict but not very particular about consuming it only in coffee, he will drink tea or other sources of caffeine too without any issue.

• Hates going to sleep and will do anything and everything possible to keep himself awake. He fears that people will kill him if he closes his eyes for any longer than necessary.

• Due to the lack of sleep and continuously working in dim lighting, he has dark rings around his eyes and his eyesight is bad but he won't admit it.

• Has an obsession with toxicology as he has made a makeshift lab in the basement and keeps trying out mixing new toxins and creating antidotes for them.

• Once he kidnapped the Scarecrow to blackmail him into giving up his recipe for the fear toxin, that's how he was found by Batman.

• Scarecrow is terrified of this little creature who has no mercy and is a vicious little thing. If Batman hadn't turned up on time, Scarecrow had almost started to see a tortuous death flashing before his eyes.

• Has seen almost every disturbing and twisted thing Tumblr and Reddit have to offer. Can easily list down the top five if asked but people know better than not to ask him of all the things he does know.

• Swears a lot. Has to tone himself down later when he is living with the Waynes. Jason can't believe this little punk can rival him in profanities. Richard is just thoroughly appalled whenever he hears the two having a match about who can swear more.

• He did not want to be adopted by Bruce Wayne but when he becomes part of his family, he launches into his survival mode, feeling that they too want to kill him after getting some advantage out of him.

• It's going to take him a long time to warm up to his new family and I am going to have a lot of fun writing all these scenes.

• The dynamic between him and Damian is different too as they do not fight all the time. Damian is somewhat scared of him and avoids crossing paths with him. Tim does not care about the gremlin as long as he is not in close vicinity.

• This Tim does not have any favorites from the family members but Jason adores him and with time he has started to consider Steph as a friend too. He is also on good terms with Cassandra who looks after him like a mother hawk.

• People who first meet Tim think he's a creepy little kid and can't believe Bruce adopted him too.

• Alfred and Bruce are both very protective of him and have vowed to change Tim's perception of them and families in general.

Origin story: (does not follow canon storyline).

The origin story for Tim in this story is inspired by the Carrion AU in which Tim finds out his parents were trying to get him killed so that they could get the insurance money to pay off their debt.

And Tim, being the unnervingly cunning genius that he is, fakes his death and hides away in the basement and lives there for some years until Batman finds him blackmailing Scarecrow into giving up his secret for the fear toxin. Only the origin is kept similar to this AU, the rest of the story is changed.
