"Here you go, Gukie." Taehyung handed over the knife before picking up Jeongguk's bag and unzipping it. Jeongguk rose an eyebrow as he inspected what Taehyung was doing in his bag.
"What are you looking for?"
"I need a lighter."
"Front pocket."
Taehyung unzipped the front pocket and took out a black lighter that seemed almost empty of lighter fluid.
"Do you smoke often, Guk?" He asked in concern, but still took out one cigarette and lit it on fire before placing it in between his lips.
"No, only when I'm stressed."
"Why are you stressed?" Taehyung rose his eyebrows, sadness now denting his mood.
"Work, stuff like that." Taehyung puffed out a cloud of smoke. By now, Jeongguk had dug a small bit of the floor up, and tossed it against the freezer.
"Hey, you are not allowed to smoke in here."
Taehyung turned around, bringing the cigarette from his lips and eyeing the cashier who looked scared out of his mind to be so close to V, a killer.
"Mhm." Taehyung mumbled, puffing out a cloud of smoke as he answered.
"What are you going to do if I keep doing it?"
The cashier looked stunned, what was he going to do? A mafia leader had a knife right next to him, and the cashier was sure that he knew how to use it. The bickering between the two caught Jeongguk's attention. So, he stood up, twisting the knife in his hands.
"I'll call the authorities." The cashier threatened, their whole body tensing as Taehyung puffed out a smoke cloud in his face. Taehyung was getting bored of being told what to do.
"You can't tear up the floor like that, either." They crossed their arms, trying to look bigger, but it was failing miserably. They should have just let them do what they wanted. The two were a duo from the darkest parts of hell. Or at least to them, that's what they looked like, dark clothing, bruised skin, frowns on their emotionless faces.
"Hand over the cigarette, V." The cashier stated. Taehyung was not surprised he knew his name, as he told them minutes ago. This action made Jeongguk raise a brow. He did not like how this puny teen thought they could order V around like this.
"Don't tell him what to do." Jeongguk retorted, the knife handle digging into his fingers as he held the blade.
Taehyung played with his bandaged hand, tilting his head. A small smile appeared when Jeongguk became so possessive over him. It made him feel wanted and special.
"J-jeon.. please hear me out, I just got this job and if I let you two do this, I'll get fired." The cashier mumbled, hope curling in their scratchy voice.
"I don't care about your job, I care about mine, now go away before I use this thing on you instead." Jeongguk sighed and went back to carving into the floor.
"What are you even looking for?" The cashier asked Taehyung. Taehyung looked at the teen for a while, but an answer was not to follow this question.
"Okay, won't tell me, I get it." The cashier sighed, folding their arms and looking at an item on a shelf out of place. They fixed it.
"Found it." Jeongguk declared, "Come on, honey." He told Taehyung, who sprung up and stomped out the cigarette. He crawled down the opening and grabbed Jeongguk's arm to pull him down too.
Jeongguk slid the cover back over the hole, they were now in the base.
"Why didn't you kill the cashier?" Jeongguk asked. "You had a knife."
Taehyung shrugged.
"They seemed like they were harmless."
Taehyung interlocked his hand with Jeongguk's, sighing in content as they walked into a random room of the base.
"Whatever you say, love."
