Bram Stoker [Last Kiss]

Bram lingered and looked at Aya longer than he should have.

In his mind another image overlapped the one of Aya.

A similar, yet so different image.

His Anastasia wasn't so exuberant, she never was like that.

Maybe she had took something of her mother's vitality, but as (Y/n) always remembered him, temperamentally she was like him.

He kept looking at Aya with that familiar heavy heart.

Too long had passed, but he still remembered every single detail of that cold winter day that changed his life forever.

He remembered the frightened gaze the first time she saw him, but also how determined she seemed.

(Y/n) came to his castle for the first time on July the 9th during the night, at 1:58. Her pale face shone by the moon's light coming through the windows.

Yes, Bram remembered the day at the exact time that human entered his existence.

At that time, he was looking for a maid who could look after his castle, but none of his vampires was willing to do it and Bram didn't want to force someone. So, he tried to spread the word he was looking for someone at his castle.

Even if he was willing to pay well, he wasn't surprised seeing nobody had come to him.

Who could even have the audacity to serve a creature of the night?

Maybe a madman.

Bram was losing hope when (Y/n) came.

"I got lost while looking for your castle, my Lord... That's why I've come just now... I ask you to forgive me..."

The girl was determined, but also scared.

Why has she answered his call if she was afraid?

The answer was easy.

(Y/n) hadn't a place to stay, she was alone with no money and any work would go for her.

Bram accepted her.

She was the only one who had the courage to show up.

He explained her what he expected her to do and brought her to her room.

"Are you sure this is my room?"

"Undoubtedly." Bram said annoyed. He didn't like when he was asked obvious things.

"Isn't it too much..." The girl asked hesitant.

"This castle is full of empty rooms." The cryptic answer the girl got before being left alone.

Bram got used soon to (Y/n) 's presence: she was punctual, efficient and, moreover, discreet.

She reflected the vampire's canons.

He hoped she wasn't going to leave him soon because he didn't mind her presence.

He had almost grown attached.

So much to be able to tell her steps apart from those of other people, hearing them was a grater pleasure than enjoy a glass of blood.

He was glad to see how (Y/n)'s fear has reduced and how she felt more comfortable around him.

But Bram was a gentleman.

He knew that girl was taking a part of his heart, but he wouldn't dare to make a move.

Or turning her into a vampire.

He would never have done this.

During a little party he still decided to invite her to enjoy herself and not to be a simple maid for once.

(Y/n) was pleasantly surprised by his sudden request, but she had accepted.

During the dinner she kept observing Bram from her corner. The other guests were dancing and chatting, but the vampire seemed to stand on the sidelines even though he was the main character of the night.

(Y/n) was reluctant, but she decided he wouldn't cost her nothing to try.

Bram saw the girl approaching him long before she could think.

He asked himself what could have been the reason for this.

"I've seen you've been standing all alone... maybe you would like to have a dance?" (Y/n) asked with a shaking voice.

Bram weighed up her request. If he had to be honest, he didn't like to dance. He hated it. And that was the reason why nobody has asked him, but he wouldn't refuse her request. To her he wouldn't have refused anything.

This led to a series of events that changed their lives.

They took advantage of that night to open their hearts and let themselves go.

That day (Y/n) entered Bram's room, ending up moving there.

Bram loved to hold her while she slept and looking at her in those happy moments.

(Y/n) who didn't care about Bram's nature.

Nothing could stop her from whispering the soft words reserved to her vampire only.

Bram had tried many times to remember her what he really was, but she didn't care.

"You, silly, I love you."

She kissed him, interrupting him.

Bram has stopped complaining about it. After all he loved those rude interruptions.

"In fact, I think now I'll be more difficult to get rid of me..."

"Why?" He asked curious.

(Y/n) took his hand placing it on her belly.

Bram opened his eyes wide.

"You're...?"

(Y/n) nodded with tears in her eyes.

Bram was over the moon, he never thought life would ever gift him like this.

And yet.

Eight months after they welcomed their little Anastasia who soon became their biggest joy.

(Y/n) and the little one filled his days of love.

It was a joy to see his Anastasia growing up, but she grew up too fast and soon it was time for Bram to walk her down the aisle. He didn't know that fate would play cruel tricks on him.

As soon as he knew they wanted to eliminate him he begged (Y/n) to run away. To take Anastasia and run.

But (Y/n) was stubborn as a mule and she refused. She would have never abandoned him.

It was one of the last time he kissed (Y/n).

He never thought they would have their last kiss.

Not like this.

Bram begged. He begged for the other vampires and for them. For his princesses, but his prayers weren't answered.

(Y/n) and Anastasia died.

Guilty of being tied to a monster like him.

After that he didn't think life was worth living.

How could he even think to carry such a heavy burden?

"I hope you're in a better place."

His life was once again sad and gloomy.

Then that child has suddenly come to his rescue.

A child that looked like his Anastasia.

Like his little girl.
