53. Thanksgiving. Part two
"You need to call this party off," I boldly told my stepbrother in the kitchen.
He cocked his head attractively, with thin eyes scrutinizing me. His upper lip curled up in that seductive habit that I had become familiar with.
"And why would I do that?" He murmured, his eyes were like a come-to-bed stunning, and damn if I didn't wet my panties.
Get it together, Madison said in my insidious voice.
And I almost did as she commanded until Caden went on and said something that left me breathing hard and fast before him. "Will you be my snack to eat for tonight?"
He hates you. Don't forget that. I was reminded by my subconscious.
That was enough to get me replaying all those hateful things he did to me.
I shake my head to clear his spell before I nearly yell, "What is wrong with you?"
That's strong, that's what I am talking about. My subconscious commented.
Yes, I know.
I can resist him.
"But isn't it what you want?" He shrugged, looking effortlessly gorgeous without a shirt on.
You don't care! He can be angelic; he doesn't deserve you. Again, my subconscious reminds me.
Afraid someone might hear him, I retort in a low tone: "Shut up, Caden. There are people." My eyes wander around, making sure no one is giving attention to us. Luckily, we're alone, and damn now I get why there are girls in bikinis and boys in shorts.
The Jacuzzi was set, and the weather was getting very windy, blowing in breeze through the open windows and doors.
"You never cared about them when you fell in love with me." He snorts.
Why did I tell him that? Why did I give him that? He wasn't worthy of it.
With thick bitterness in my throat, I demand him to: "Stop it."
But he kept on that charming devilish smirk, looking side by side around the room while he threw insult down on me: "Why? Honestly, I thought it was okay to say it out loud. Isn't it something normal for siblings to get married?"
"Stepsib..." I begin to correct, but he cut me off with his index finger pressed over my lips.
"Shhh. Don't worry I won't let people know how much of a hungry whore you are for your brother's dick. I swear. Your secret stays with me." He crookedly chuckled and snatched his finger from my parted lips.
I hate him, why did I ever think I love him?
"You can say all that you make yourself believe, but you are at fault just as I am."
His lips twitch as if he is going to say something, but then they spread into a malicious smile as the wind hits his perfect healthy hair and he simply says: "This party is just getting started, kid."
With a sharp and murderous glare, I shook my head at him before dismissing myself from the asshole who doesn't know how to make use of life.
I will show him the end of his Thanksgiving party.

"Hello Asher, I need you to tell me how to cut off the light for my apartment," I asked immediately after he accepted the phone call. I was outside the entrance door of my apartment. There was noise and music, but it was faint and manageable for a phone call.
"The switch," he answered. I can picture his brows pulled together in confusion.
With a lack of patience, I clarified: "No, I mean to terminate completely until electricians come to the rescue." Yes, that's the only way to kill a party. I've thought of different scenarios, I even considered calling Dad, but at this point, I don't think Caden will care about the consequences.
"Oh damn! I don't know..."
"Come on, what do you mean you don't know? You are the only smartest person I know." He should know.
"Uhm, I notice." He paused. Knowing he knows I was trying to blandish him because I was hopeless, made me blush. "Why do you need to cut off the power?" He asked after the slight silence.
"Long story." He doesn't wanna know.
"Which I have the time for." Trust me, dude, you don't wanna.
"Which I don't have the time. Please Asher I need your help."
"I have no idea how it works. Maddie, we're both psychology students."
A frown etched on my face, and I weakly mutter: "I know..." chewing my nails slowly.
"But I will check on YouTube." Okay, I smile very wide.
Then it dawned on me: "Why is everyone depending on YouTube these days?"
"Civilization." He replied. I roll my eyes and cut to the chase.
"Whatever! Now, what do we have?"
"I think you need to get to the distribution board."
"Okay..." I nodded, thoughtfully. "What is the distribution board?"
He chuckled before he started: "It's the electrical panel of your building."
"Okay..." Now we just need to find the electrical panel.
"Are you sure about this?"** Asher sounded concerned.
"Oh, consider me as Albert Einstein, my friend." I quipped.
"Only you've failed a lot of math."
"And my brain wouldn't be kept for research."
"Exactly." He agreed, and we both laughed.
"So are we on target?"
"Yes... You've found the distribution board yet?"
"Not yet..." but I know where to. The floor below mine.
I practically race to the elevator while on the phone with Asher.
When the elevator slid open on Caleb's floor and I courageously stepped out of it, I dashed to his door, not caring about what you might think. Yes, that's because I don't have any feelings for him anymore, or at least I tell myself that to hate him even more. But you know, it's all to support my mental and emotional state.
"Hey!"
"Hey?" Asher called through the receiver, not knowing where I was standing or who I was facing.
"Maddie?" Caleb surprisedly exclaimed. Yes, I know, standing by his doorstep is a great surprise. The last time I was here, we were making out and having fun with his dog.
"Where is the electrical panel?" I went straight to the point and asked what I came here for.
"What?"
"You heard me." I retorted to the jerk who ended us because of fifty thousand. Well, that's a great amount but it's disappointing.
"Uhm... backyard. Why?" He stammered.
"Thank you."
"You should come..."
"Bye, Caleb." I turned around and left him staring as I got on the elevator.
"Shit, you knocked on his door?" Asher chuckled.
"I couldn't think of anything else."
We continued to converse until I was exposed to the chilly, hard rain pouring from the dark sky. Yes, it had started raining again. I jogged to the scanty backyard no one cared to keep an eye on the flowers.
"Now tell me what's next," I urged, practically shuddering from the icy rainfall.
"Do you have scissors?" Asher asked.
I didn't, but my eyes fell on a stone. It should do.
"No, but I have a sharp stone."
"What?" He sounded surprised.
I know, but I'm desperate, all I want is to sabotage Caden's Jacuzzi party. From here I could see the whole building dancing from Caden's pressure. I'm going to give him a taste of his own medicine.
"What do I need to cut?" I inquired as I stood before the distribution board with a pounding heart. Yes, I'm nervous and anxious. Never in my life did I ever have to cut a wire, and I guarantee you this isn't just some wire; it's tens of wires. I feel confused and dizzy, but I also want revenge so bad.
"You will need something very sharp to cut the black wire," Asher said from the receiver.
My eyes narrowed at the combination of black, yellow, white, and red wires, and each was quite a lot.
"There are some black wires, Asher."
"Okay! How many do you see?"
My eyes scanned around the board. I breathlessly answered: "Tens."
"Find the tiniest."
What? With shaky hands and soaking wet hair sticking to my face, I began to examine the panel for the tiniest black wire as instructed by a friend who is completely dependent on YouTube.
"The tiniest..." I drawled, sounding very serious. "I'm on it... Ha! here."
Without thinking, I began grinding the black wire I believed was the tiniest.
"Are you cutting or slamming?"
I know it sounded like that. Hell, it looks like it. I only hope I know what I am doing. Luckily, the wire rift but the power on my floor isn't out, it was just as satisfying to Caden when I looked up. A prominent frown etched into my face. I knew I had no idea what I was doing.
"About that... It's done, but there's still power on my floor."
"Maybe you didn't cut the original wire," Asher implied just as my eyes found the actual thin wire.
Thank goodness.
"Wait, I think I've found the tiniest," I excitedly informed him, beaming as I began the same process, grinding the wire with the small stone in my hand.
"Hold on," he prompted, just as worried as he always sounded whenever I made hasty decisions.
But the pleasure exploding in my veins was like fireworks, I was too soaked in it. All I wanted to see was Caden's disappointed face when the light went off, and everyone had to leave my house.
"Calm down, bro. I can handle this tiny wire. I did the other," I brag, very assured of what I was doing.
"Maddie, you need gloves..." He didn't finish his sentence, and then boom!
Oh maybe he did, I just didn't hear. The strongest energy I'd ever experienced had me thrown into the bush.
Oh, shit! My heart was racing in my chest, my breathing was heavy, and my body was trembling from fear. I didn't have my phone in my hand anymore, but I could hear Asher repeatedly calling my name from somewhere. It means the phone is somewhere around the backyard.
But all that faded when my eyes slowly traveled to my floor, and it was dark... Yes, totally black, and there were noises and screams from girls from up there.
Yes, I did it. I should be pleased with this moment, I should celebrate the victory for ruining Caden's party. But I wasn't, because I didn't mess with the power of my floor alone, no, I messed with the power of the whole building, and there were a lot of angry people in there.
Oh, crap. I am going to jail again.
