(Tyler's POV)
"That's not good idea, Delirious," I whispered, checking if Evan and Craig was still inside the house.
"What else am I suppose to do? He's not in any danger there, and I know they could hurt him here," he tried to explain, and I sighed.
"But you're breaking the promise here. You promised him to return back."
"And that's what I will do, but first I need to help Ohm," Delirious replied, and I noticed Craig smiling at me the window.
"Do what you think it's best, all I'm saying is that he's going to be mad at you. Maybe he'll even fly over North Carolina after you," I said, watching the car driving pass by me.
"I'll try to be as quick as possible. Bryce said he's going to fly over LA to watch over him, so you can have free time. I'll call him and try to explain it."
"You know Evan, he's going to freak out. Is Ohm really in that kind of a danger?" I pushed further, having a feeling there's something he's not telling me.
"I need the information about William Lockwood, the guy I need to kill. Ohm said he could gather them, but I prefer you over his men. Could you do it for me?" He asked, and I nodded.
Avoiding the answers, typical.
"Sure."
"I gotta go. Take care of yourself, enjoy your time with Craig," he said, after a few seconds of a silence.
There's something bothering you, I can sense it.
"You too, man. Call me soon."
I put my phone back to my pocket, preparing myself for the Evan's change of mood. I didn't blame him, I would do the same if Craig left me and refuse to come back. I returned back to the main door, knocking on it, only to be invited by Craig.
"Took you long enough. Evan just got a call," Craig said bored.
"I know, and he's not going to be happy," I explained.
"What?" He asked confused.
"Delirious decided to stay at his home town for a few more days."
"Oh, but is he ok? I mean, is everything alright? There isn't any danger for him, for us, is it? Don't lie to me now," Craig looked at me with all seriousness.
"Everything should be fine, Ohm just needs some help," I said truthfully, sitting down.
We both heard a loud voice from upstairs, but it was too far away for me to understand the meaning of his words. I took Craig's hand into mine, enjoying what we shared together.
"I love you, you know that, right," I whispered, looking at him.
"And I love you," he whispered back, making me smile.
We both heard Evan's footsteps, and then his figure how he stormed into the living room where we were. His eyes were already red and puffy, making me feel sorry for him.
"C-can I be alone, please?" He asked us silently, and I noticed Craig running to hug him.
Called it.
"Please," he whispered, pushing Craig softly away.
"B-but we'll be back. We will, right?" Craig asked, looking at me.
"We will be, but let him breath," I assured him warmly.
Craig nodded his head, we were both walking towards the main door. Just before Evan closed the door behind himself, I turned to face him, knowing Craig wasn't near me.
"Before you fly over his city, just bear in your mind that you're safer here," I said, seeing him hug himself.
"That's the same thing he said."
"You know he's professional, he'll be back soon. If you're going after him, text me before you leave this country. I promised him to keep an eye on you," I informed him, and he nodded.
"I will."
I turned myself, walking towards my car. Craig was already standing near it, impatiently pacing. I unlocked the car, letting him in. I sat down too, feeling Craig's stare.
"What did you two talk about?" He asked me something I knew he wanted to say.
"Somebody's too curious," I taunted him amusedly.
"I just don't want to be left out in whatever is going on, that's all," he complained, and I put my hand on his.
"I won't allow that," I smiled, focusing on the road.
"Where are we even going?" He replied, playing with my fingers.
"Back home."
We reached my house, and I was the first one at the door. Noticing the a few inches opened door, I froze. I quickly pulled out my gun, hiding it so Craig wouldn't see it. I looked back to see Craig walking slowly towards me.
"Baby? I almost forgot, there's one file in the back of the car. Could you bring it for me?" I asked, trying to sound unsuspiciously.
"Of course," he mumbled tiredly, but he smiled at me.
I looked back at the door, pushing into it to open. I listened for a few seconds the complete silence, trying to focus on the any signs of the intruders.
"What file? I can't find any files!" Craig called, and I turned the lights on.
"Keep searching," I yelled back, knowing I already sold out out position.
Carefully searching the whole place, I didn't find anything. Even though nobody was there, nothing was missing, I still had a weird feeling deep inside me.
We didn't lock the door? Could that be?
"There are no files!" Craig announced, walking into the kitchen.
"Weird. I could swear I had them there," I mumbled.
"What is it? You look worried," Craig whispered, taking my hands into his.
"It's just those files, nothing you should worry about," I smiled, feeling pain that I lied to him.
It had to be the case. I had to forget to lock the door, maybe I didn't close it properly?
I tried to calm myself down, convince myself that it was nothing. I moved myself to work on that guy for Delirious, so I could spent the rest of the evening watching some movie with Craig. I was done with them after a while, happily joining him.
"Shouldn't we return back to Evan?" Craig asked, and I slowly shook my head.
Evan promised to text me. He's still at home, and I understand he needs a few hours of loneliness.
"We'll visit him tomorrow, baby. Let him breath," I ruffled Craig's hair, and he sighed.
"I just... it's so weird knowing Evan is alone," he whispered.
"There's really no danger for any of us. Maybe for Delirious if he's not careful enough with any job Ohm wants him to do. But we're safe here," I smiled at him, when he nuzzled his chest into my neck.
"I trust you," he whispered, making me warm at my heart.
I just wish times like these could last forever. I'll need to find for Delirious new contract if I want to spoil Craig. And I do.
