13.

Waking up in Adam's arms is not a bad way to start my day.

Being met with a stressed out Sophia is.

The sun's barely risen, but she's alive and kicking. Running around the apartment, grabbing textbooks and pens all while stuffing pieces of her sandwich in her mouth.

I groan and turn back around, not wanting to get up at six fifteen. Only a fool would. Now my back is on Sophia's side, and my face. . . is met with Adam's bare chest. He must've been too hot with me sleeping so close to him and the thick covers over us.

Not even the little rational part of my brain thinks about waking him up now he's sleeping so cutely. And while he's asleep, I can enjoy the sight and feel of his hard muscles.

When Adam's asleep, his lips are parted just a little. Every time I go to wake him up, it's like this. I've heard him complain about it, because he wakes up with a dry throat due to it, but I think it's cute. As long as I'm close enough, I can feel his breath hitting my skin.

"Sure, turn around! You're leaving at the same time as me, because there's no way I'll let the two of you alone in my dorm! Who knows what could happen!" Sophia calls out to me. I fake falling asleep again, having no desire to actually get up.

"Mason, I freaking heard you sigh at my attempts to be on time, do not act like you're too tired!"

With another groan, I open my eyes again. Can't a guy ever sleep peacefully?

"It's six thirty, are you crazy?" If I'd known this would be the case this morning, maybe I wouldn't have come at all. That's a lie, because Sophia was scared and I wouldn't want her to slaap badly when I had the chance to comfort her, but I'd like to think I would have thought about it twice before coming over.

"Are you?" she shoots back. Still half asleep but not immune to her charms, I smile. She really ahs to learn some better come backs if she wants to keep up with us.

"Kind of," I shrug, hiding my face in Adam's chest again. His arm reaches up to wrap around my hips, his hand ending up on my back. I startle. I didn't know he was awake.

He isn't fully yet, but he's waking up. I can tell from the little grumbles he's letting out and the fluttering of his eyes. See, Sophia? Do you see what you did?

"Go back to sleep," I whisper. "You need it."

He cracks one eye open and looks at me. "Says the one who fell asleep before the game was over last night."

"You know what, shut up."

"I would if you would ever stop insulting me," he retorts before closing his eyes again. I kiss his frown away and tuck the loose strands of hair out of his eyes. When I want to get up to go to the restroom, he whines and tightens his grip around my waist. "No. Stay here."

"I have to pee, let go." He doesn't. I sigh. His grip is too strong, and I don't want to wiggle out of it with a full bladder.

"Here, I'll help." Sophia walks towards us and lifts Adam's arm with ease, allowing me to go to the bathroom. We leave a whining Adam in bed while she takes some distance to not be a victim of his wrath. I give her a thankful smile. "You're a goddess."

She shrugs, that pink blush returning and painting her cheeks again. I think it's cute how every time she's flustered, she can't hide it.

By the time I return from the bathroom, Adam is sitting up and leaning against the wall closest to the bed. His arms are crossed over his chest and he's frowning, which means he's mocking grumpiness until I give him a good morning kiss.

Well, he'll have to wait. He needs to brush his teeth first, just like I did.

"Got something left to eat here?" I ask soph, opening her fridge. I see fruit (ew), orange juice (too healthy) and milk (where are the Frosted Flakes to combine?), but nothing else. She shakes her head. "Nothing that could be enough for two hungry hockey players."

I'm about to tell her it's fine, we can just go get breakfast at the Starbucks close by, when two arms wrap around my chest from behind. Adam presses little kisses beside them, seducing me to come back to bed. I shake him off.

"Go brush your teeth, Adam. Then we'll see."

Grumbling, he listens and disappears into the bathroom. Sophia sighs and shakes her head again. "You two are unbelievable. I didn't know I would be third wheeling in my own place."

Grinning like an idiot, I can only shrug. "That's karma for waking me at six o' fucking clock."

Another sigh. I bet I've made her sigh more this morning than she has all week.

"Can I get a kiss now?" Adam appears with his toothbrush in his mouth. Toothpaste is all over his lips, but at least his breath won't smell anymore. Morning breath is one of my pet peeves, sue me.

"Come here." With his face lighting up, he quickly makes his way to me. I press a kiss on his cheek, not wanting to get any toothpaste on my face. When he realizes that's all he's getting, he pouts. "That wasn't the deal!"

"There was no deal."

"Asshole," he grumbles, quite literally stomping back to the bathroom. Sophia's downstairs neighbors will love us. I turn back to her. "When do you need to leave?"

Hesitation crosses her face. "Now, kind of."

"At seven?"

She shrugs. "I want to study a little more in the library and get coffee before that. But I can't, since you guys will probably stay here until ten minutes before your lecture starts."

Proudly, I nod. There's no way I'm coming to study, too. I'm compliant in most cases, but this is too much, even for me. "We'll lock up and give you your key in English, don't you worry. Or Business, if mister Whitlock ahs returned."

She makes a face. "I hope so. Imagine if all of you were allowed to sit close to me even more."

She's playing. At least, I hope she is. We didn't do anything to make her mad or hurt, right?

"Kidding," she smiles. "I have to go now. Promise you won't leave with any lights on, water running or fire on?"

Who the fuck does she think I am? "I'm not an idiot."

She stick out her tongue,  everything but her face hidden behind the open door. "Depends out of whose point of view you're looking. Yours? No. Mine? Yes. Bye!"

And she's gone. Rude.

"And now?" A pouting Adam is back. I give in, pulling him closer by the shirt he is wearing now (sadly). I give him his kiss and pull back again. "Happy now?"

He's like a little kid who just got his candy after asking for it for a whole afternoon. Smiling widely, he nods. "Very."

"Sophia just left, so we have the place for ourselves. You want to order take out?"

"No? I'm not eating pizza for breakfast."

I flick his head. He puts his hand over the painful spot, flipping me the bird with his other. "Why? Why would you even—"

"We can order some breakfast. What do you want?" I reach for my phone, but Adam is first and stops me by hugging me. "I want to go out and eat breakfast somewhere. Ordering take out is something we've done so much already."

I kiss his temple. "Alright then. Let's go, I'm guessing you need your daily caffeine intake."

"Shut up."

Like I said. He'll get happier when he's gotten his coffee, I'm sure of it.

I send him to check all of the lights while I close the windows. We don't want Sophia coming back to a dorm that's broken into. The oven's out, all the taps are closed. We can go.

"Do you want to skip class and have some fun back home?" I grin. We're walking hand in hand, there's almost no one on campus anyway. Besides, if they see something they won't dare to spread the gossip. We'll send Jake and Leo if they do.

It's funny how they're sort of our scary dog privilege. They don't hurt anyone unless they massively fucked up. Like the guy who slapped Summer's ass in a club a year ago and wouldn't leave her alone, but that's another story and a pretty boring one. Our point stands; do not harm anyone close to Jake or Leo. They'll come for you.

"Do you think we'll have Business again, soon?" Adam wonders. I shrug. On one side, I do hope so. Whitlock's classes are fun, and on the days he actually teaches Business, I can enjoy something while learning useful things. On the other side, he'll still think we're assholes to Sophia (granted, we were) and won't let us sit anywhere close to her.

"Maybe. Let's just hope he doesn't return with the desire for weekly tests, hm?"

Or maybe let's do exactly that. I heard tutor sessions with Sophia are fun.
