*Ashton's POV*

I wanted to close my eyes because of the sight before me. I wanted to stop breathing because of the over whelming smell. There were body's every where, some our men, but most weren't. There was blood seeping into the grass, turning it a sickly shade of red.

We had just exited the strong hold and I was still in Saxons arms. I felt perfectly safe in his arms, like nothing could hurt me. But as we walked threw the body covered field I wanted nothing more then to close my eyes.

I looked behind us and noticed that Reed had Emily tucked safely into his side. Mates. There mates. I gave Emily a large smile which she returned also getting Reeds attention. He looked up at me and I gave him a toothy smile to. He smiled back and I was about to mouth something when I felt Saxon trip a little bit.

I turned back to Saxon and noticed that he was very pale, unlike his normal tanned self. He also looked like he was struggling to keep his eyes open.

"Are you okay Saxon?" I asked him worriedly. He looked down at me and gave me a small smile.

"I'm fine." He said breathily and I knew it was a lie. I suddenly felt something wet and warm drop down into my arm. I looked down and saw that it was blood. I looked around, trying to locate where the blood came from and I successfully found it.

Saxon had a large gun wound on his left shoulder. There was blood oozing from the wound and the skin was starting to turn black which worried me because it could only mean one thing, the bullet was silver and its getting into his blood stream.

"Saxon your arm. You need to get the bullet out." I said worriedly. Silver is deadly to a wolf and if it enters there blood stream fully it will kill. It looked like Saxon hadn't even heard me. He started to sway back and forth and his eyes closed. I knew what was going to happen next so I braced myself for the impact. And I couldn't have been more right because a few seconds later Saxon had dropped me and fell forward unconscious.

There was an aching pain coming from my freshly healed ribs but I pushed that away and scurried to Saxons side.

"Saxon!" I said as I turned him over. Reed and Emily rushed forward and knelt down in front of us.

"Get a doctor! He has a silver bullet in his shoulder!" I said frantically and Reed scurried off to find one. I felt my heart beating rapidly and my wolf was whining in worry. I tried shaking Saxon to see if he would respond but he wouldn't. Reed came back a few minutes later with a doctor in toe.

The doctor rushed towards us and pushed me aside. Normally I would have been pissed off but not today, as long as Saxons alright. The doctor rolled him over a bit so he could get better look at his arm. He pulled out a pair of tweezers from his bag and he started to dig into Saxons arm. I turned my head away, not wanting to see.

"Got it." The doctor said. I turned to him and saw that he was holding a long silver bullet with the tweezers.

"I will need to inject him with a medicine but other wise he should be fine." The doctor declared and I let out a sigh in relief. The doctor injected Saxon with some kind of medicine and then reed carried him to the truck that had recently pulled up out front. The door to the van was thrown open and a very worried and very pregnant Lilly got out.

"Ashton I was so worried about you!" Lilly cried as she hugged me the best he could with her large stomach. You see werewolves don't have to carry a baby for nine months because our pups grow faster, we only, usually, have to carry them for five.

"I missed you to Lilly." I said as I hugged her back. She pulled away from me and took in my appearance. I saw sympathy flash threw her eyes and then angry.

"What did they do to you!?" She asked angrily. My eyes widened because I had never really seen Lilly anger and dang is she scary.

"Stress is bad for the baby." Josh spoke as he got out of the truck also. I smiled and ran into his arms.

"Hey little sis. I missed you so much." He said quietly. I held back tears as I let him go. I was suddenly engulfed in a bone crushing hug from behind.

"Ashton I'm so glad your okay." Have said as he squeezed the life out of me. I giggled at him and then I was being handed to the other boy.

"Ya Ashton. We really did miss you." Justin continued. I was gently set back on my feet and I turned to look at them.

"Thanks guys." I said giving than happy smiles. My smile quickly faded once I saw Reed carrying Saxon towards the truck. The twins saw my sad look and followed my eyes. There faces turned to that of worry and then they turned back to me.

"What happened to him?" Justin asked me. I swallowed harshly before tearing my eyes from Saxon.

"He was shot with a silver bullet. The doctor got it out and he should be fine." I said but even I could hear the worry in my voice. They gave me sympathetic look and smiled sadly.

"Lets go guys!" Reed said as he turned back towards Emily with a smile on his face.

"Who's that?" Jace asked motioning to Emily. I slightly smiled before answering.

"That's Emily. Her dad was alpha of the pack and Reeds her mate." I said happily. I was happy that Reed finally found his mate. The twins nodded and then we climbed into the van. I sat in the back seat with an unconscious Saxon and held his hand. I know the doctor said that he would be fine but I was still worried sick.

Nobody said anything the whole ride home, I think we were all lost in thought. When we finally pulled up to the house and hour later I saw that Saxons parents were standing out side looking worried. Everybody piled out and I waited as Reed came to get Saxon. I was trying to follow Reed into the house but I was stopped by Saxons mother, Julie.

"Oh Ashton your alright." She said as she hugged me tightly. I hugged her back just as tightly. Bill was standing next to her and when he saw my eyes on him he smiled.

"I'm glad your alright Ashton. When you went missing Saxon had a fit and nobody knew why until he told us that you are his mate." He said happily and I nodded my head.

"You will make such a great Luna." Julie said and my smile widened.

"Thank you, that means a lot to me. But if you'll excuse me I need to go see Saxon, he got shot." I said sadly. Bill nodded his head and I quickly walked past them into the house. I walked up to Saxons bed room and pushed the door open. He laid on his bed, with his eyes close and he looked like an angle.

The color had returned to his skin and I could tell that the wound was already healing. I walked over to his bad and sat down next to him taking his hand.

"I'm so glad your okay." I said quietly to Saxon. Suddenly one of his eyes propped open and he smiled up at me.

"No I'm so glad your okay." He whispered. I smiled and he pulled me down next to him.

"Ashton." Saxon whispered and I turned towards him.

"What?" I asked. He looked deal into my eyes before saying the three words that made my heart skip a beat.

"I love you." He said sincerely. I felt my heart beat rapidly and my wolf howling in joy.

"I love you to Saxon." I said right back. A breath taking smile broke out on his face and I couldn't help but savor the moment. Quickly after I fell into a peaceful sleep in my mates arms.

I felt my eyes flutter open and a yawn escaped my lips. I looked around the room and didn't recognize it at first but then I remembered that I had slept in Saxons room last night. Thinking about last night made butterfly's flutter in my stomach. I still can't believe that he said that he loved me. I with out a doubt loved him with my whole heart and it maid me happy that he felt the same.

I went to stretch out my cramped limbs when I notice that Saxons arm was draped over my waist. I turned around so I was facing him and I took in his face. He was just so perfect and I couldn't be happier to call him mine. I reached my hand out and place it one his warm cheek. He stirred a bit before his eyes fluttered open and I was staring into those endless pits of green.

"Hey beautiful." He said sleepily. It was only then that I realized that I probably looked like a mess. I smiled at him before removing his arm from my waist and getting out of bed.

"What's wrong?" He asked me worriedly.

"I'm just going to go take a shower." I replied. Saxon nodded his head and I walked out of the room. My room was a flight lower then Saxons so I walked down the stairs until I reached my room. I walked in and took a deep breath. Boy how I missed my room. I walked into my bathroom and stripped out of my filthy clothes. I stepped into the shower and turned the hot water on. I sighed when I felt the water hit my body.

I watched in disgust as the dirt and grim fell from my body. I washed my whole body and I washed my long hair especially good. I got out of the shower and wrapped a towel around myself. When I walked out of my bathroom I went to my closet and put on a bra and panty set then a pair of black sweat pants, a white tank top and the my purple hoody.

I put my wet hair into a French braid down my back and then I headed down stairs. When I got into the family room I noticed that every body was there so I pranced over to Saxon and planted myself on his lap. He wrapped his arms around me and put his nose on my neck, breathing in my scent.

I looked around the room and saw that Josh was rubbing Lilly's feet, Reed and Emily were cuddled up on the couch and the twins were watching tv. I briefly wondered were Alice was but then concluded that she was probably in her room.

"Hey Ashton." Josh called to me. I turned towards him.

"What?" I asked curiously.

"We have to go back to school on Monday, are you gonna go?" He asked. I nodded my head and he smiled. I wasn't going to let what happened to me prevent me from going to school. I turned back to Saxon and snuggled into his chest.

And for the rest of the day I stayed cuddled up with my mate, thinking about how lucky I was to have him.
