I've been walking for a while now. 

Ding! 

I take my phone out of my back pocket and checked my messages. 

I had one message from Austin, one message from Kyle, and one message from Daniel. 

I decided to look at Daniel's message first. 

Daniel: Sis, where are you? We're very worried, please tell me where you are. 

I replied. 

Me: I'm fine, okay?

He replied quicker than I thought. 

Daniel: Please tell me where you are, El. I won't tell anyone else, but I want to come to get you. 

Me: No thanks, big bro. I'm fine, seriously. Stop worrying about me. 

Daniel: Noah told me that you ran away with Kyle. 

Me: Not anymore...

Daniel: What do you mean?

Me: I can't tell you.

Daniel: I'm your brother, you can trust me.

Me: Fine! Do you really want to know?

Daniel: Yes.

Me: I made out with my boyfriend's best friend last night while I was drunk!

Daniel: Wow. That's so messed up. 

Me: I know...

Daniel: Wait! 

Me: ?

Daniel: Why were you drunk?!

Me: Uh...

Daniel: Tell me, El. 

Me: Fine, I went to a high school party last night, and I saw Hayden we got drunk, then he hurt me and then he threw me into the pool and I was drowning but Kyle saved me and beat up Hayden. 

Daniel: Wow. I'm so gonna kill Hayden if I ever see him again.

Me: Listen, I got to go. 

Daniel: Okay...but, please tell me where you are.

Me: No. 

Daniel: Ellie, please tell me where you are.

Me: No. 

Daniel: Ugh! 

Daniel: Crap. 

Me: What?

Daniel: I got to get back to class. Just stay safe. I love you.

Me: Okay, thanks. I love you too, Danny. 

Well, that was a long conversation. 

I opened up my message from Austin. 

Austin: Baby, where are you?

Austin: I miss you. 

Austin: Are you okay?

I replied. 

Me: I'm fine. 

But, he didn't reply. 

Then, I opened my message from Kyle.

Kyle: Ellie, where are you? I'm worried. 

I decided to reply.

Me: Fine, od you really want to know where I am?

Kyle: Yes.

Me: I'm on a bench.

Kyle: Wow. You're 'so' specific. (Note the sarcasm.)

Me: Well, you asked. 

Kyle: Listen, I know that you're upset about what happened last night, but...you were drunk. Things like that happen.

Me: Hold up! 

Me: But, you weren't drunk... and you kissed me back. 

Then, I didn't get a reply. 

Me: Hello? 

Maybe he's in the bathroom or something.

I decided to go on a walk along the beach. 

I stared out at the sea. 

- Flashback - 

"Ellie, will you be my girlfriend?"

His words struck me. I was shocked. I honestly didn't think that this would be the question.

Austin has pros and cons to him, but I don't know.

He bullied me a lot. But, he apologized. But what if he does it again? What if he breaks my heart? He's the reason that Zach and I broke up!

Which reminds me that I have to talk to Zach today. And Anna.

Anyways, get back on track, Ellie!

Focus!

Waves of emotions just washed over me. I feel like I'm drowning.

And then, I open my eyes to see that I'm actually underwater.

How did that happen?

I guess I jumped in. Without realizing it, though? Seriously?

"Ellie!" I could hear Austin say.

My heart was slowing down. And my eyes became heavy.

I started falling down. Drifting down to the bottom of the pool.

Austin jumped in and tried to save me, but he was too late.

I had already hit the bottom.

He picked me up, bridal style. And carried me out of the water. He placed me on the concrete and tried CPR.

But, nothing happened.

He was devastated. He was crying...a lot.

My spirit self tried to tell him that I was okay. That I was still alive.

Until I looked down and saw my body. Just laying there.

Austin ran inside and got my brothers. They saw my lifeless body just sitting there and they cried. 

- End of Flashback - 

- 20 minutes later - 

I decided to text Kyle again. 

Me: Hello?

No reply. 

Me: Kyle?

- 5 minutes later - 

Me: Are you okay?

I still got no reply. 

Something was telling me that it wasn't just about last night. 

And I plan on figuring out exactly what it is. 

- A little while later - 

I decided to walk back to the hotel. 

Maybe, Kyle's still there. 

But, I didn't have a key card. 

I asked the lady at the front desk for the key card for room 301, and she was nice enough to hand it to me. 

I thanked her and then walked to the elevator.

Once I got into the elevator I pressed the button for level three. 

Eventually, I arrived at the third floor. 

I walked to room 301. 

Then, I swiped the key card against the metal, the door unlocked and I walked inside the room. 

No one was there. 

All of Kyle's stuff was gone. 

Where is he?

Did he go back home to San Fransisco? 

Did he leave me?

Then, I noticed a note on the nightstand beside the bed. 

I walked over to the nightstand and picked up the note. 

The note had coordinates on it.

I typed the coordinates into my phone. 

I'm not sure where the coordinates lead to, though. 

Google Earth can be confusing sometimes. 

I decided that I didn't have any time to waste.

What if he's in trouble? 

I ran out of the hotel room, taking the note with me. 

I ran into the elevator and pressed level one. 

Soon enough, I got back down to level one. 

I ran to the front desk. 

"Hi, here's the key card back," I said, while handing the lady the key card. 

I was out of breath.

"Thank you, dear. Are you okay?" She asked. 

"Not really. I think my friend is in trouble." I said. "And I have no way of getting to him," I said. 

"Oh, well I can give you a ride if you'd like?" She said. 

My face lit up.

"Seriously?" I asked. 

"Of course," she said. 

"Thank you so much!" I said. 

"No problem!" She got her car keys and began walking away from the desk. 

"Then who will be at the front desk?" I asked her. 

"Another employee," she began. "Brenda!!" 

I laughed. 

A woman came out from the back. 

"You're on duty, I got to help this girl." 

The woman nodded and sat down on the chair behind the front desk. 

"So, what's your name?" 

"I'm Ellie, how about you?" I asked. 

"I'm Alicia." She said. 

"That's a pretty name."

"Thank you, so is Ellie," she said while smiling.

I smiled back. 

Alicia unlocked the car. She sat in the driver's seat, and I sat in the front passenger seat. 

I showed her the note. Then, she put the coordinates into her phone. 

Then, she began to drive off. 

Don't worry Kyle.
