"Hi," Anna said. Then, she sighed.

"Hey," Zach said, but it kind of sounded like he was talking to himself.

Why not just get the question out there?

"Can we talk for a few minutes, please?" I asked.

They just nodded.

We walked inside and sat down in the living room.

They sat down on the couch, not right next to each other though.

They weren't holding hands or anything, so... I don't know what's going on.

Did they already make it official, and they just don't want to tell me?

"So, the other day, Anna came over and I was sneaking up on her because I wanted to scare her, but then I noticed that she was texting you," I said, looking at Zach.

"If you guys seriously like each other you should have just told me instead of keeping it all a secret from me," I said while standing up.

I was about to walk away when I stopped myself.

"Oh, and one more thing. Zach, why did you tell Austin about my childhood? I thought that I could trust you. You were my first real friend. I can't believe you." I finished.

Then, I stood up from the chair and started walking away. But, someone grabbed my hand.

I turned around.

It was Austin.

"Ellie, Zach wasn't the reason that I found out about your past," he said.

"Then, how did you find out?" I asked.

Did one of my brothers tell him, or something?

"Remember when I egged your window and dressed up as the clown, when Anna was here the other day?" He asked.

"Yeah..."

"Well, that's how I found out. I could hear you guys talking from right outside the window," he said.

"Oh."

"Yeah," he said.

Then, I walked back into the living room.

Ugh! Again, with that name? Living room.

"So, what about you two? Are you guys dating?"I asked.

I needed to know the truth.

"No," Zach said.

"Then, why were you guys texting each other?" I asked.

"Because...we were planning a little surprise party for you." He continued.

My jaw dropped.

This whole time, I thought they were betraying me. But, they weren't, I feel so bad.

"I'm so sorry. This whole time, I thought you guys were betraying me and dating each other," I said.

"It's fine," Zach said.

"Yeah, we understand why you thought that way. I guess, we did sem kind of suspicious." Anna said.

"Wait, why were you guys planning a surprise party for me, though?" I asked.

It's not my birthday or anything. So, I don't understand why they would be throwing me a surprise party.

"We just felt like it. To be totally honest, we just wanted to. Not for any specific reason though.

"Oh, and Zach, Austin kissed me, in the cafeteria on Friday. Not the other way around. I promise." I said.

"It's okay," he said.

I nodded and gave him a slight smile.

"Zach, I really like you, but do you think we can just stay as friends?" I asked.

"Sure, no problem!" He said. He's a very understanding person.

As much as it's weird for me to say this, but I like Austin.

Wow. I like Austin.
