Chapter 3 - Crying and Cuts
-The next morning-
I feel a pain in my stomach. "Why does my stomach hurt? I don't think I'm on my period," I said. I heard a chuckle. My eyes snapped open. I saw Noah and Max. They were punching my stomach and poking me. "Ow! Stop!"
"Nope!" Noah said. I let out a groan and hid my face in the sheets. They just laughed at my reaction. "I'm awake! Okay? Now get out!" I said, frustrated. I'm not really a morning person. "We have school, so get up!" Max said. "But, I don't want to go to school today!" I complained. "Well, too bad...you're going!" Noah said. "Ugh! Where's mom and dad?" I asked. "They left for work." Noah said.
Seriously? Why? Why did they have to leave me with these demons?
"No, no way! Why?" I said. "Because. It's work. They had to go, duh!" Max said.
I rolled my eyes. "What did I say about rolling your eyes?" Noah asked.
I didn't reply.
"Answer me, you little nerd!" He said.
I removed the covers from my face and my jaw dropped. They laughed.
"I'm not a nerd!"
"Yes, you are!" Max said.
"See? He knows what's up!" Noah said while doing a weird bro shake thing with Max.
"Yeahhh," Max said, while patting Noah on the back.
Strange.
"Get out of bed now, you baby!" Max said. "No!" I said.
"Daniel!" Max shouted.
"What?!" Daniel shouted from downstairs.
"Come here for a second!" Max shouted.
Noah looked at me and smirked.
What is with all the smirking?
A few moments later, Daniel walked into my room.
"Yeah? What do you need?" He asked in his groggy morning voice.
"She won't get out of bed," Noah said, while pointing at me.
"Pointing is rude," I said.
"Well, so are you airhead!" Noah said.
My jaw dropped...again. "Take that back!"
"Nope."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"Nope, babygirl."
"Ye- Don't call me that!" I shouted.
"Yo, what's with all the shouting?" An unknown voice said. Yet, again another boy walked into my room.
"And who are you?" I asked. "I'm a friend of Daniel's." The boy said.
"Oh, I didn't know Daniel had friends," I said in a sassy tone.
Daniel narrowed his eyes at me. Then, he walked closer to me. He grabbed my arm and physically pulled me out of bed. He threw me on the floor. "Ouch."
Daniel kicked my sides, repeatedly. Once he was satisfied he stopped.
Noah walked over to me. He pulled me up by my hair.
Then, he let go of my hair and pinned me against the wall. He slapped my face. After he slapped my face multiple times, he punched my stomach. I winced in pain while clutching my stomach.
The boys cracked up laughing. Even Daniel's friend, whatever his name is.
Next, Max walked over to me and hit my head with a book. It hurt so bad, that I fell onto the floor.
Then, he picked me up and threw me back down onto the floor.
It hurt really badly.
Everyone laughed again.
"Please. Please stop." I said.
But, no one listened.
Daniel walked up to me again and grabbed my arm. He twisted it and held it behind my back. I whimpered at his actions. He smirked.
Then, he let his grip go.
Next, Max walked back over to me and picked me up by my shirt.
Then, he held me against the wall, with his other hand wrapped around my neck. He choked me.
My own brother choked me.
Ow.
Then, he put me back down.
"Get out!" I said.
"No," Max said.
"Yes," I argued.
"Make us!" Noah said.
My brothers are so intimidating.
"Why do you need us to get out of your room?" Daniel questioned.
"Yeah, do you have a boy coming over or something?" Daniel's friend asked.
This is becoming more of an interrogation than my brothers trying to wake me up for school. No, I wouldn't even say 'trying' I would say, more like attempting but miserably failing.
"No, I don't have a boyfriend..." I stated.
"Yeah, well that's obvious," Noah said.
I looked at him.
"I mean, look at you! You're ugly and annoying," he continued.
"Oh, and don't forget fat!" Max said.
I looked down at the ground.
"Aww, little Ellie is a crybaby!" Daniel's friend said. I really need to find out this guy's name.
"How pathetic!" Daniel said.
I could feel teardrops forming in my eyes. I couldn't control my emotions anymore. I started crying.
I grabbed my phone off of the nightstand and I was about to text mom when Max grabbed my phone. "Nope! You're not allowed to text mom or dad about any of this! Or else!"
"W-why not?" I stuttered.
"Because." He said.
"Because why?"
"Because I said so, dimwit!"
Then, they all left my room. Slamming the door behind them.
I got up and walked into my bathroom. I quickly changed into an outfit and put on some mascara, not that it will make me look any prettier. Because it won't! I looked at myself in the mirror. I turned sideways to examine my fatness. They're right. I am fat. I picked up a measuring tape and began to measure around my stomach when I heard a knock on my bedroom door. "Come in," I said.
They opened the door so quickly that I didn't have time to put the measuring tape down, it was still around my stomach.
"Hey, Ellie I was wondering if you wanted to eat bre— Hey are you okay?" Daniel said. "No, no I'm not!" I said. I put down the measuring tape, and cried more. I ran downstairs. I ran into the kitchen. I grabbed a knife, but I hid it so no one could see it and then I quickly ran into the bathroom in the upstairs hallway.
I locked the door behind me and I just cried. I looked in the mirror, and then I cried even more.
"One cut, for being ugly." I scraped the blade against my skin. I cried out. "Another cut, for being fat." I pushed the blade against my skin, yet again.
My brothers were in the upstairs hallway as well. I could tell they were talking about me. Daniel's friend went home.
"How long has she been crying for?" Max asked. "About 47 minutes," Daniel answered. "School is going to start soon. Mom and dad will ask questions if she doesn't show up to school." Noah said.
"What's going on?" I heard Jack ask. "Ellie's been crying for the past 47 minutes," Max said. "Really, bruh?" Jack asked. "Yep." Noah said.
"Someone calm her down!" Noah shouted.
And that was the last I heard before someone knocked on the bathroom door.
"What?" I said.
"Ellie, can I come in?" Jack asked.
"No, go away." I said.
"No, I'm not leaving you," he replied.
I could still hear my other brothers in the hallway.
The doorknob was moving for a few seconds before Jack finally opened the door.
"Another cut, for being this stupid girl!" I yelled.
The house went silent.
And there, my brothers saw me: with mascara running down my face, a knife in my hand, blood on my arms, and my face was all red.
