What's happening? 

My spirit self completely faded. 

My eyes started slowly fluttering open. 

I was laying on the concrete in front of the pool. 

Everyone's eyes widened and smiles crossed their faces.

"Ellie!" My dad shouted. "You're alive!"

I coughed up some water.

Ew.

"B-but I was just in the clouds...I was looking down on all of you." I said. 

"Well, that means god gave you a second chance. Not many people get those." My mom said. 

I smiled a little. 

I can't believe I almost died. 

It really looks like my parents care. But why?

"Austin dived in and tried to help you. He tried to rescue you." Noah said. 

"I don't know what I'd do without you." Max said to me. 

Wow. (Note the sarcasm.)

"But I failed!" Austin said. "It's my fault!" He continued. 

Austin walked away. 

I got up, and followed him. 

"Where are you going?" Jack asked. Jackass. Haha.

"I'll be right back." I assured them. 

I saw Austin sitting on my front porch. I sat next to him. 

"It's my fault you kinda died." He said. 

"I only died for a second." I said. 

I couldn't believe that was the truth. 

I only died for a second. 

I died. 

For a second. 

"Why do you seem so shocked? I mean, isn't that what you wanted?" He asked. 

I could tell he was confused.

"I don't know. I guess I always thought that I was going to end my life. But, now that I know what it's like, it hurts. I was watching down on you guys, I saw everyone crying. That hurt me, even though I was just a gust of wind. I was basically air, but I could still feel that pain. I didn't want to live with that pain. Even though, I was dead, and I wouldn't be able to live. I always thought that if I die, it would give me another life. A new beginning. A new chance. But, I was wrong. It doesn't end up that way. Now I know that it's not worth it to take my life. I will continue to live, but I need help. I need to talk to my parents. Do you mind if I go talk to them?" I said. 

"Can I just tell you something first?" He asked. 

"Sure." 

"You're beautiful. Every day, in every way." Austin said. 

His words made me smile. 

He kissed my cheek. 

Which made me blush. 

"You're adorable when you blush."  He said. 

Which made me blush more. 

He kissed my cheek again. 

"Thanks. I'm gonna go talk to my parents. Okay?"

"Okay." He said. 

I got up. I began to walk away, but I stopped myself. 

"Oh, and Austin." 

"Hmm?" He looked up at me. 

"It's not your fault. You tried to save me. I tried to kill myself. You're the hero." I said. 

He smiled. "Thanks." 

I nodded and then walked back to where everyone else was. 

Austin's words repeated through my head. 

You're beautiful. Every day, in every way. 

I smiled.
