Being There
Molly
We ripped him to shreds.
He had no way of seeing it coming, ordid he?
Devin didn't even beg for his life—hesimply wanted his torment to be over.
"We show him mercy?!!!"
"Henry, look around you!"
Henry took a glance at the dead amongus and knew it was inevitable.
"Then we do it quickly," Henrygrowled, "He's had enough."
In an instant, we'd slaughtered him—allof our memories coming back as the two of shifted back into fleshform,
"Oh.."
I fell hard on top of my mate whogathered me up in his arms and kept me safe.
The rogues—who ended up also havesome cannibals in the bunch—took Devin's body away.
"This is horrifying..." Henry said, waving his parents over as I did with mine.
"We're all safe.." I said, "We'resafe..."
"It's over.."
"Is it?"
Henry
I knew what she meant.
Would we survive this?
I treated her poorly and then I forgother.
I loved her and vowed in my heart tolove and care for her the rest of our lives.
"We're going to have to have atribunal," Father said, "Are you both alright?"
"Lori!" Molly wept as she huggedher friend close.
"You fought hard," I smiled, "Lorimight be the better soldier here."
"We need to clean this place up andget the prisoners back to the cells."
The rogues were long gone—now thatthey had no promises of riches and fortune, we let them go, but notwithout witnessing such a defeat on their part.
"So many of them are dead.." Mollysaid as we tried our best to get our own kind to safety and on themend.
"Henry, I thought I'd lost you!"
"And I thought I'd lost you,Molly...my feisty minx."
Ann and Atticus were a huge help, wanting nothing but a pardon from us.
"You saved us," Molly said, "Therewas always goodness inside of you—no need for a pardon."
Ann and Atticus watched as the Driftersrolled by—meeting with them in the caravan.
"Will they be a problem?"
"They're Drifters," I told Molly,"We stay out of their way—they stay out of ours."
Molly agreed to that and watched themtravel on.
"I love you.."
"I love you more, bully alpha.."
Molly
We made our way back to the cave andtidied up.
The witches were long gone, theDrifters, the enemies—Devin.
His parents were gone as well. Wehadn't even seen them come up to battle, but they did and foundthemselves with their son.
"No burial?"
"The rogues got them," Henry saidas we stepped into the carriage to take us back to our den, "Wedon't need to ever think about them again."
"Let's go back and make a home—areal home, Henry.."
Henry smiled, "I will still bullyyou, but...you might like it."
"I'm not a masochist," I teased.
"Oh, you know you love it."
